Or have I got the timing wrong? 4PM UK time??
Work/On now
Thank you for doing it.
I did have to laugh at the holes in the pictures due to the green screen.
A lot of the problems they have been having lately is because the team had been reduced drastically about a year ago and then some of the developers had moved on. New developers are trying to learn the old code while implementing new code to continually improve performance which can be a very difficult task. They have also had a few server issues. They also have to deal with performance issues on a regular because the game is getting older and bigger and they have to constantly have to try to improve the performance of the game play itself. They also try to make ALL the players happy, some want MORE events. Their biggest point was that you do not have to do ALL the events or obtain every single prize, to simply play at your comfort level. However, they are missing the point that a coop will lose rank if they miss even one coop challenge. But again it is still choice to participate or not. They actually said do not try and do ALL the events, only what you have time for.
Many players have been very frustrated lately with a lot of bugs and broken stuff in the game as well as the push on events but this does help explain some of the problems. I prefer a company to just say, hey guys the game is really screwing up right because of (insert specific reason) and we are working on it to rather than being kept in the dark. I can be much more patient when I know what is going on.
They also showed a bit of detail for the upcoming volcanic farm and a new and upcoming event; Gold fish rescue (something about catching gold fish).
They did mention they are not done with the Deep sea fishing, they still plan to optimize the contracts.
Their smaller team is slowing things down.
They will be adding new prizes and special offers, new items on the wheel of fortune during christmas time with new decorations, fire works boosters.
Lester is having issues and has been removed for now.
They installed a gold protection feature on the mobile app and will try and implement something on our PC version as well.
But I doubt very seriously that a any significant number of players want more events.
focus on what we want & expect.
It would greatly reduce the over-reach on the road-to-ruin we've been on lately.
Real communication with all the many people who play here is fantastic. Honest I can't rave about this enough. Thank you for taking the time to do this. I hope to see more, maybe shorter, just as a way to stay in touch with your players. IE customers. Take it from someone who has dealt with customers in one form or another probably before you fellas were born, lack of communication is always bad. Taking time to talk to people pays off. So this video is the best thing by far I ever saw GG do!
I will go send out a note to all my coops and put the youtube link in there.
Just two points I really hope you two guys see now.
1. Thank you for the idea of getting rid of the pop ups soon. YEA.
2. Gold lock.
Guys… no, "sales doesn't ask are you sure you want to spend." BUT someone can still enter a store with their wallet closed until they choose to open it at check out.
The way your game is now, feels like being on a ride that shakes the pockets and you keep everything that falls out. Support will say sorry, be more careful. My response to that is ok, I will. I put my credit card out of reach and haven't spent one penny on this game since.
A gold lock (I suggested years ago) could be a simple padlock icon open by default so nothing changes.
But something a player could choose to LOCK right after logging in. Then only once if someone clicks something that costs gold, especially by accident, and for any amount of gold, "you have to unlock your gold" could come up. One click right IN that message one time would unlock the lock until and unless the player locks it again. Allowing the player to maybe spend spend spend, say pushing a crop during an event without a prompt every time. One lock, it's either locked by the player, or it isn't.
This would prevent ALL accidental spending. Customers who feel safer about putting some cash here will.
Try it.
I wish just once they'd own up to the fact that they make money off these accidents and don't want to stop that. (Don't get me started on the mystery box buttons ... free click to open, free click to open, free click to open .. oops, button changed to spend gold to open. Be more careful.)
What they would lose from a gold lock would more than be made up for with gold purchases from people who will not buy it until some sort of spending protection is in place.
I'm interesting on volcano farm. But it's work very different than what I think before. I don't know hoes does it work. I will wait till next year to see. Miss you volcano farm!
Gold Lock & Other Suggestions to Prevent Accidental Gold Spending
Thanks guys
I think this is a good step forward, and an excellent way to share information with all of the players. Please continue these in the future.
I do hope we can get more of these "State of the Game" type Vlogs in the future, even one every 2-3 months would be helpful and informative, especially if they discuss content that is in the pipeline for the next 3-6 months (from the time of airing) and things they're working on. Bugs I'm not too concerned about, Patch Notes are already a good source for those.
