So I get an email from Good Game studios.   About going mobile.

So fair warning…  it's rant time.  Climbing up onto my soap box now.

First of all I HAVE NO INTENTION OF EVER being one of those <people> who walk around with their faces glued to some dinky mobile device playing idiotic games!
(sorry for those of you who do, try putting it down and actually looking around. Try talking to people.  Remember how to do that?  You did as infants, it's even more fun with real words.  yup, put down your phones, pads, pods, etc and try living LIFE.)

Second.
Facebook?   HELL would have to freeze over many times before I ever TOUCH that horrid site <name calling removed>
STOP PROMOTING FACEBOOK!    You have your OWN servers.  Stick with that.

Lastly, and this is really why I'm writing.
At the top AND bottom of your email is this….
"You received this email because you registered for Galaxy.
In order to stop receiving further emails for this game account, please click here."

GALAXY?????   You people KILLED Galaxy.   WHY are there still emails going out even mentioning Galaxy.
I liked Galaxy.  I put money onto several bases in that game.  Made friends there.   It was fun.
But you flushed it and all the customers you had who played it down the toilet.
SO WHY IS GALAXY even showing up on ANY emails?

Heck I have had posts right here deleted for even mentioning "another game" even though it's YOUR GAME.

Ok, rant over.  I'm probably talking to the wind anyway.  No one at GG ever listens to it's customers.
Sigh.

See what I do when not playing silly games.

  • They did mention that there are 2 different teams for each. I too do not like playing a game on those little screens.

I'm also one who does not like trying to play these types of games on those dinky screens. The only game I play on my phone is video poker

  • Just to clarify a couple of points, White Doves is correct, BF & BFMH, have completely separate development teams. Also, the servers don't run on Facebook, you can just link your Facebook account to invite friends, but it isn't a requirement of the game.

I can understand not wanting to play games on a tiny screen, but if you were interested in trying the game, you can download an app player for your PC and play it on that. - Just google "app players for PC" and you will find several different ones.

@Artmaker (GB1) I passed on your comments about the use of the Galaxy email list & a CM is looking into it.

like you @bdreish (GB1) I have the most basic phone possible as my sons too saw no reason for me to having any sort of data plan ... I have enough problems always stopping at the most inconvenient times right in the middle of aisles in grocery stores, on the threshold of doors as it bings & people move around me (automatic doors to stores)...can u imagine me standing still in the middle of a crowd on the sidewalk...what a foot-traffic jam that would be. I only got the mobile because a landline wasn't available in our area & people had/wanted to keep in touch with us when we moved to a new city.

I checked out the mobile version on my tablet.  It is certainly not set up for mobile play.  Mobile games are meant to be played while waiting for the doc, or a cab or other short periods where you have a few extra minutes.  Bigfarm mobile is not really much different from Bigfarm.  Grow times are basically the same. The mobile game has the same basic deco event as the PC game and it is timed.  You simply, IMHO, cannot spend that much time on a tiny little tablet, that is not what they were meant for.

    Breakdown on the Lab
    126,321,371,000 (lab cost) ÷ 5,000,000 (Average daily earnings) = 25,264.27 days
25,264.27 (days) ÷ 365 (days in a year) = 69.22 years to fully upgrade the Lab
That's if you use the daily earnings to upgrade the Lab ONLY, no spending on other upgrades, islands, boosters, or anything else.

I don't often even have my phone with me.  Remember "I'm not home, leave a message" thing?

Just for your amusement, here. lol  The population really is dumbing down.

Ha, remember when there was no such things as voicemail or answering machines?  It'd ring and ring and ring and ring and ring and ....

We didn't have a phone at all when I was growing up. There was a phone-box 2 streets over or, in an emergency, we might go next door and use theirs.  :¬D

Same here @Uncle John(GB1)  -  the only reason the next-door neighbour had a phone was because he was an on-call pharmacist. I used to get so confused with the 'push button A' and 'push button B' on the public phones, never did get used to them lol.

My grandmother lived in a small little town (think Mayberry) with an actual switchboard operator.  She didn't even have to tell her people's names.  "Morning, Marlene, this is Elizabeth. Could you please get my sister for me?"

Yep, same here...we had to use the phone box just round the corner.....we also didn't have a bathroom [had to have a strip wash at the kitchen sink] and the loo was outside.

I do have a mobile phone, but it's not a contract one and I only carry it, switched off, when driving in case of an emergency.  It isn't that I'm anti technology [my claim to fame is that I was among the very few in my country to play Super Mario Brothers before the Nintendo 8 was being sold here] I just feel we are slowly losing the art of face to face conversation and worse still are becoming increasingly unaware of other people's feelings.

I so agree.  We have forgotten how to be in the moment.  If you are out with your family, interact with them.  If you are buying groceries, pay attention and really get into it.  If you are walking your dog, look up and take in everything around you.  So tired of being out and about and seeing a nothing but a sea of the tops of people's heads.

  • And they usually end up hanging up on you after you have held forever...drives me crazy...gov't is horrible too

So we hurry up and wait...kinda like here, right now...lol...I am in a mission & the HWE is going  :#

HWE is broken now.  I started another thread.

And yea, government is the worst.  I asked a local cop about a new traffic law in my state, he wasn't sure on the answer and told me to "call the sec of state."  HA!  HOW?  They stopped answering the phone long ago.
Only way to talk to anyone is GO THERE and wait in line.   Which would probably be faster than going through voice mail from hell.

Don't you love being on hold from your internet service provider forever, and they keep playing that message "did you know most problems can be resolved online?  Simply log on to wedontcareafigaboutyou.com to report ...."

Um, if I could log on, I wouldn't be calling you, now would I?

Yep, govt. is awful, although I did have a lovely surprise when I needed to call a local city dept. and actually got a live person first try.  After listening carefully to my question, she connected me to the director of the department WHO PICKED UP!  I complimented him on not having to deal with a phone tree, and he said he made the decision to get rid of it.  "Government works best when it's personal." *thud*

  • Those of us who utilize our phones for many things......including games......do not always have our faces glued to them & not all of us have lost the art of communication. Generalizations are eminently more evil than any cell phone........and my post is no more offensive than the OP so please give me the same courtesy that was shown him. Thank you......
  • Is hot fix over?   If so it broke the US1 server  gives me log in and then immediately disconnects

A generalization would be "all phone users do this and this and this."  A comment about seeing phone users doing "this and this and this" is a statement of fact.  When I see a "sea" of head tops, that's a fact, not a generalization. Absolutely no discourtesy is aimed I you, I'm sure. Peace. :)

Wow… government who decided to get rid of it?   I want to live where ever you do.

Anyway I got a better story.   One of the first computers I ever bought.  Apple of course.  (back when they were good.)  Anyway I could NOT get it to connect to the internet.
And I kid you not, in their instruction manual…
"if you cannot connect to the internet… log into www……."
Wondering what form of brain dead silly person wrote that?
