@WascallyWabbit, can you please comment on above comments? If you are not lost in the dark like everybody else, of course.
Can you please explain the following quote with a bit more detail. Several have talked about it by no one seems to quite understand it. Does this mean if you have a level 12 Jetty you actually have a level 4 stage 2 Jetty? And do the stages have any real significance? I mean is it better to be at any particular stage? Are there any advantages or disadvantages to any particular stage. Thanks in advance.
There are 4 different levels of the Adventurer’s boat:
levels 1 and 4 have 2 stages each
levels 2 and 3 have 4 stages each
Each stage requires different materials.
Just last week I asked one of the devs about several of the statements in that announcement, because there does seem to be some that are unclear.
If you look at the one that you quoted, together with the 2 below, it would appear that the word "levels" has 2 different meanings.
- The adventurer’s boat has 12 levels, with a different chapter per level.
- If not fixed by your cooperative, the boat will get worse and worse until it turns into its first stage.
According to the dev, in the last statement the word "stage" refers to visual stages of the boat. There are 12 upgrade levels & 12 different visuals & as you can see from the images below, there are groups of boat types that are 2,4,4,2 which would appear to be what the statement you have quoted is trying to describe.I have copied your image and modified it slightly to use as a reference for a couple questions.
1. If we have a level 6 Jetty it is basically a Level 2 stage 4, right? And if we let it go for a long period of time, it gets worse and turns into stage one. The question is, is it just the appearance that can revert to stage 1 or does the boat actually regress (back to a level 3) and would have to be "rebuilt"?
2. Is there any advantages or disadvantages to any particular stage?
3. Does it always get harder with each upgrade, is it always a 54% increase in needed materials to repair the boat at each level. Does it ever get any easier?
4. Is there ever a time we wont need a massive amount of nails. It says each stage requires different materials.
And I guess my biggest question here is: Is it really supposed to get harder and harder to repair twice a day with each level upgrade? (The 54% increase in repair materials and personal donations)
Many coops are ignoring the Jetty because it is just so hard to keep up with all the materials needed to repair it twice a day. And if you miss repairing the boat, it will actually start trying to take items AWAY from your inventory with the -1s and the -2s. I do not think many even realize it is taking items away. Some have said they do NO repairs and just collect what is gives each time but those negative numbers are taking items away from players.
Edited to add image:
This mornings repair:
10,079 total. The high number of nails required to complete some building upgrades remains, but is doable now that we're able to shift a portion of the nails we normally make for the boat over to the buildings. <whispers softly> Thank you GGS!
I wanted to follow up on this, as I was able to test it today.
When you get the "-1" in the reward box, it simply means that it's removed 1 reward from the collection screen. It doesn't actually take anything from your personal inventory.
For instance, I got a "-1" today (and a cracked box) on 10 Premium Donkey Fertilizer.
So I checked my inventory prior to collecting the reward.
After collecting the reward, I found I had received *9* Premium Donkey Fertilizer from Yarnacle. So he took 1 away from the 10 he was going to give me. He didn't take any from my inventory.
As I said, just wanted to follow up on this, as I don't want anyone to be "scared" to collect a cracked box, thinking they're actually loosing something (from their inventory); they're not.
So it's probably just a random occurrence that happens a (very) small percentage of the time, even when he's fully repaired. This is the first time I've ever seen it, and like I said we always repair every 12 hours.
Thanks Southern for investigating the results and posting on this topic. I did indeed have concern it was a deduction rather than a deduction from its own self (the reward, ei: -9).
The bigger concern now is why it is happening to fully repaired boats.
We will patiently wait for your post KarenKay after you have received an answer.
Thanks again Ladies.
there should be a notification on chat who has started any building update.
example "17:48 sdstc has started village bank update"

As the level of the jetty increases, you get 1 additional slot "filled" in the case of Co-Op rewards.. You start with 3 slots filled (of 1 item each, although 10 feed or fertilizer counts as "1 item"). At level 2, you should get 4 slots filled (1 item each), and level 3 should get 5 slots filled (1 item each).
If you repair the boat within an hour after its arrival, you'll get a "bonus" item to one of the slots, so you might get *2* seeds in one slot, or *20* feed/fertilizer instead of 10. (I think you can also get that bonus if you "Buy" one of the 3 bottom rewards after clicking on "Show Me More" on the reward window).
In terms of *personal* rewards, you start out at level 1 with all random combination of up to 9 slots filled with a total of 16 items (assuming 100% happiness). At level 2, it's the same 9 rewards, but the (total) quantity goes up to 17 or 18, then at level 3 it goes up a bit more (18-19), at level 4 it goes up a bit more (20-21), etc.

I've never seen gold as a reward from Yarnacle, so I'd have to say no to that one.
An extra Seaweed is entirely possible. Take this as an example:
This is an example of one of my "Personal Reward" boxes that I collect twice a day (with 100% friendship). As you can see it's an assortment of 9 random items, but there are 16 total items in the 9 boxes. 3 mystery boxes, 4 seaweed humus, etc. This is at level 1.
At level 2, you still max out at 9 random items, but there will be a total of 17 or 18 of them. And so on and so forth.
The increase in materials that Yarnacle needs (as well as the items needed to get his friendship back up to 100% again) seems to increase about 50% at level 2, and in my opinion that's not worth an extra 3-4 rewards per day. We're perfectly happy sitting on a Level 1 Jetty, as the boat is much easier & quicker to repair, and we don't have to spend NEAR as much time growing edge plants or making nails, resin & ropes as we would with a higher level jetty.
