Maybe our friends from the wood can shed some light on the situation :)
@WascallyWabbit, can you please comment on above comments? If you are not lost in the dark like everybody else, of course.

So for now I will not post anything. The way I see it is, if a co-op was gonna level their jetty I'm sure they plan to repair it to get the rewards so they'd have nothing to worry about anyway.

    @WascallyWabbit

Can you please explain the following quote with a bit more detail.  Several have talked about it by no one seems to quite understand it.  Does this mean if you have a level 12 Jetty you actually have a level 4 stage 2 Jetty?  And do the stages have any real significance? I mean is it better to be at any particular stage? Are there any advantages or disadvantages to any particular stage.   Thanks in advance.
    • There are 4 different levels of the Adventurer’s boat:

      • levels 1 and 4 have 2 stages each

      • levels 2 and 3 have 4 stages each

      • Each stage requires different materials.

@Shay1968 (US1) Oh no, not the boat! lol  :o

Just last week I asked one of the devs about several of the statements in that announcement, because  there does seem to be some that are unclear.

If you look at the one that you quoted, together with the 2 below, it would appear that the word "levels" has 2 different meanings.

    • The adventurer’s boat has 12 levels, with a different chapter per level.
    • If not fixed by your cooperative, the boat will get worse and worse until it turns into its first stage.
According to the dev, in the last statement the word "stage" refers to visual stages of the boat. There are 12 upgrade levels & 12 different visuals & as you can see from the images below, there are groups of boat types that are 2,4,4,2 which would appear to be what the statement you have quoted is trying to describe.

Thanks Wascally for your response.      I feel the more we understand something the more of a chance we have at taking an interest in it. (maybe)

I have copied your image and modified it slightly to use as a reference for a couple questions.
    1.  If we have a level 6 Jetty it is basically a Level 2 stage 4, right?  And if we let it go for a long period of time, it gets worse and turns into stage one.  The question is, is it just the appearance that can revert to stage 1 or does the boat actually regress (back to a level 3) and would have to be "rebuilt"?
    2. Is there any advantages or disadvantages to any particular stage?
    3. Does it always get harder with each upgrade, is it always a 54% increase in needed materials to repair the boat at each level. Does it ever get any easier?
    4. Is there ever a time we wont need a massive amount of nails.  It says each stage requires different materials.

And I guess my biggest question here is:  Is it really supposed to get harder and harder to repair twice a day with each level upgrade? (The 54% increase in repair materials and personal donations)

Many coops are ignoring the Jetty because it is just so hard to keep up with all the materials needed to repair it twice a day.  And if you miss repairing the boat, it will actually start trying to take items AWAY from your inventory with the -1s and the -2s.  I do not think many even realize it is taking items away.  Some have said they do NO repairs and just collect what is gives each time but those negative numbers are taking items away from players.

    Edited to add image:

  • @Shay1968 (US1) You definitely cannot undo an upgrade, because that was the thing I was trying to find out initially when I asked the dev about this. He said that "stage" only refers to the visual, so like you say, it seems to me you could have a level 6 jetty with a boat that looks like the level 3 image, if you neglected it for long enough. I am going to show your questions to him tomorrow & see if he can clarify the whole process. As for donations, as far as I know, they continue to increase with each upgrade, but I will find out all that I can - They will be busy with the update, so I may not get the answers tomorrow, so bear with me. :)

@WascallyWabbit,  Thank you so very much.  I do understand if it takes a bit for answers, I know they are trying hard to make Oktoberfest enjoyable as well as trying to figure out a reasonable fix for the DSF.  Whatever you can find out will be great, the more we understand, the better.

@WascallyWabbit Thanks for your info about jetty. Now I've figured out that the stage represents the boat type. I thought the level 3 boat can degraded to level 2 then 1, but based on image, it actually different. So when upgrading jetty until reach the 'checkpoint', it only degraded until the last 'checkpoint'. Yeah, the 54% increase in maintenance seems too much, and very risky in big co-op with many inactive members

Just wanted to share our latest repairs.  In the two days prior to the "adjustment" our quantity of nails required were:  AM = 49054  PM = 55871  AM = 65256   PM = 54664  that's 104,925 total and 119,920 for the last day.
    This mornings repair:  :)

10,079 total.  The high number of nails required to complete some building upgrades remains, but is doable now that we're able to shift a portion of the nails we normally make for the boat over to the buildings.  <whispers softly> Thank you GGS!   :)

Our adventure boat seems to have issues.  Why is this happening?  We always completely fill the adventure boat each time it is here.  I don't always pay attention to the little bags on the top left but I have seen this before; last time there was a server issue.

A -1 means items are taken from our inventory, is this correct?

If we are always completely repairing the Jetty there should be no -1 and we should not lose any items from out inventory.  However, according to this we will lose an item if we collect our rewards.

This game is absolutely falling apart, I am so ready to just throw in the towel.

    @Shay1968 (US1)

I wanted to follow up on this, as I was able to test it today.

When you get the "-1" in the reward box, it simply means that it's removed 1 reward from the collection screen. It doesn't actually take anything from your personal inventory.

For instance, I got a "-1" today (and a cracked box) on 10 Premium Donkey Fertilizer.

So I checked my inventory prior to collecting the reward.

After collecting the reward, I found I had received *9* Premium Donkey Fertilizer from Yarnacle.  So he took 1 away from the 10 he was going to give me. He didn't take any from my inventory.

As I said, just wanted to follow up on this, as I don't want anyone to be "scared" to collect a cracked box, thinking they're actually loosing something (from their inventory); they're not. :)

@Shay1968 (US1) @Southern (US1)  Hi Shay, Southern is absolutely correct, but the real question is WHY?  Why is it showing a negative 1 when you've collected all items for the boat, why is it showing a cracked box?  I've written to support because I want to know WHY.  Last week we completed several boats in a row within the hour bonus, and guess what, yep, there was a cracked box that showed up, just doesn't make any sense to be receiving a penalty of sorts when you're not only fulfilling the requirements but exceeding them within the time frame for an added reward.

It's probably just a random event that happens occasionally. We always repair our boat to 0% (and this time was no exception), and he came back with a cracked box.  By viewing "Show More" though, the other reward selections were normal - it was only that one selection that had the cracked box in it.

So it's probably just a random occurrence that happens a (very) small percentage of the time, even when he's fully repaired. This is the first time I've ever seen it, and like I said we always repair every 12 hours.
  • KarenKay (US1)KarenKay (US1) Posts: 1,036
@Southern (US1)  I've seen it multiple times now, and same here, we always repair ours 100% every 12 hours, and typically pick up the extra bonus by doing it in under an hour.  Seems pretty lame to add in a random penalty considering all the materials needed each and every time, plus the added donations to top that happy meter, :O).  I'll see what the powers that be have to say and post the reply.

    Hi @Southern (US1) & @KarenKay (US1)
Thanks Southern for investigating the results and posting on this topic.  I did indeed have concern it was a deduction rather than a deduction from its own self (the reward, ei: -9).
The bigger concern now is why it is happening to fully repaired boats.
We will patiently wait for your post KarenKay after you have received an answer.

    Thanks again Ladies.

  • We just finished a VL competition.  We won a basket but received a message that we lost the competition.  I thought if a coop won the first basket, or if they won any basket, it blocked the challenger from winning the competition.  Am I wrong or is this a bug?
  • The team that fills all 5 first wins, not just one basket filled. No matter who filled the others first, but all of them as  first.they fill 1-3, you fill 4-5 before them, you win.

I have been asking for this since forever...Include all the activity in the cooperative village in the activity logs. This will eliminate the "accidental clicking of everything an itchy finger would love to click"...:)

Many of us has been saying this for a while now.  And when we tested the chat thing on the test server, it did just that.  But evidently there were other problems with it, so it has not yet been brought to the live servers.
ok than we should keep that subject hot :). its really necessary

So are there any benefits at all to upgrading jetty? I noticed in level 3 that we occasionally receive 20 seaweed products in one of the slots but apart from that all I see is it gets a lot more expensive to keep the boat repaired. Does the quality of reward improve after level 3 or is it just a case of an extra seed, token, mystery box etc as level increases?

As the level of the jetty increases, you get 1 additional slot "filled" in the case of Co-Op rewards.. You start with 3 slots filled (of 1 item each, although 10 feed or fertilizer counts as "1 item"). At level 2, you should get 4 slots filled (1 item each), and level 3 should get 5 slots filled (1 item each).

If you repair the boat within an hour after its arrival, you'll get a "bonus" item to one of the slots, so you might get *2* seeds in one slot, or *20* feed/fertilizer instead of 10.  (I think you can also get that bonus if you "Buy" one of the 3 bottom rewards after clicking on "Show Me More" on the reward window).

In terms of *personal* rewards, you start out at level 1 with all random combination of up to 9 slots filled with a total of 16 items (assuming 100% happiness). At level 2, it's the same 9 rewards, but the (total) quantity goes up to 17 or 18, then at level 3 it goes up a bit more (18-19), at level 4 it goes up a bit more (20-21), etc.

Thanks Southern.....is it just an item number increase or do the quality of the rewards get better? Trying to confirm whether an upgrade of the jetty is worth it, more expensive repair for an extra seed, rake, karma, token etc or does this become seaweed, gold etc.........

    @gizmo22 (AU1)

I've never seen gold as a reward from Yarnacle, so I'd have to say no to that one.

An extra Seaweed is entirely possible. Take this as an example:

This is an example of one of my "Personal Reward" boxes that I collect twice a day (with 100% friendship). As you can see it's an assortment of 9 random items, but there are 16 total items in the 9 boxes. 3 mystery boxes, 4 seaweed humus, etc. This is at level 1.

At level 2, you still max out at 9 random items, but there will be a total of 17 or 18 of them. And so on and so forth.

The increase in materials that Yarnacle needs (as well as the items needed to get his friendship  back up to 100% again) seems to increase about 50% at level 2, and in my opinion that's not worth an extra 3-4 rewards per day.  We're perfectly happy sitting on a Level 1 Jetty, as the boat is much easier & quicker to repair, and we don't have to spend NEAR as much time growing edge plants or making nails, resin & ropes as we would with a higher level jetty.

    Please :)
Though it would be nice, I thin that would be a bit hard, since they have multiple batches (only 2 though, but still) and they usually don't add the "repeat last" when multiple batches are involved.
