Why not say on each farm what tasks earn us cat charms. So would you please give us the option to get rid of the darn thing or lower the charm # & tell us how to earn.

It's a very sad fact of life here on the Big Farm that you have to read the Forum to know what the heck is going on and how to do things, and even then, it may not be correct. (You're right, the search features are terrible. GGS doesn't run the messageboard, however.)

Belonging to a coop helps, too, because you can learn from someone else's mistakes, or ask a question and be pointed in the right direction. (If you don't like coops, ours is a non-coop coop -- strictly hands off to let you do your own thing. No donations or participation required. You will be left alone -- promise. We rarely chat, either.)

But I digress. Supposedly they are working on the cat thing, and it is hoped those who want to can demolish it A lot of us didn't do the cat thing right away, but it took away our dogs and doggie rewards just for fun.

Seems that way. The project manager for this title is either clueless or has left the building. The wheels have been wobbly for over a year, but now it seems they've finally come off.

I agree and have been watching this disaster in the making, love the analogy of wheels @artful (US1) yes it has been bumpy now over a week and the cat/dog issue isn't fixed. Funny how when it hurts or puts GGS in loss fixes are PDQ but when it is players not the sam it is now drawn out to ridiculous time frames examples DSF, cat/dog. Players waited a long time for the cat then you come up with this mess. Shoving more and more stuff such as CC's and special events that turn out to be far less than special. Temp farm cut back of time get real and start treating us fairly that is all we ask.

WOW.... Is it just me, or has GGS taken the final step towards full blown extortion?

We paid (Gold.. REAL honest to goodness cash) for the upgrades on our dog kennels to receive the prizes.
Sooo.... now GGS says "You want your prizes? Well, we won't give them up until you pay us more money."
(i.e. participate in the cat scam). I believe this scenario is the textbook definition of extortion.

*Please correct me if I'm wrong or missing something, but this just seems down right criminal.
At what point is a company legally held accountable for defrauding & extorting their customers.

If GGS attempts to cover this with their perpetual fall-back.... "Oh, we're working on it, blah, blah, blah..", then they had better be prepared to retroactively repay all prizes lost from our dog kennels over the weeks, months, years, or Lord knows how long it takes them to ACTUALLY provide an commensurate solution.

GGS MUST STOP rolling out and taking money for new "Product" they are not fully capable of delivering... IF they want to be viewed as an respectable, ethical, company. They've pretty much lost all credibility, as far as I'm concerned.

I have a cat tree on my main farm and gourmet farm... YES, I wanted a cat, was thrilled when they said it was coming... loved the idea of players being asked to submit ideas... jumped when they became available.

SO sorry now... I have no idea how long it will take me to actually have a cat on either farm. I am stuck in the never-ending nightmare of collecting charms. So disappointed.

I have no cat on my flower farm... and my dog has decided NOT to come out of her house. The dogs on my other farms do drop gifts, although they are now white, but the FF dog does not... go figure?? Nothing makes sense, nothing works right.

WHY did you feel the need to ruin the cat for us and how was it that the dog became involved in the nonsense of it all???

I do want the cat, but not like this. In a million years and a trillion ideas I would have NEVER wanted this.

My dogs only appear when they want to be feed then disappear, they don't drop gifts..... don't have no cats, don't want no cats at this point and time, glad I didn't get caught up with it but still mad about my dogs grrrrr...

Still dogless, giftless here, as well. What burns my biscuits is that we were forced to use gold to level it up, and now we're losing daily.

Farmer,
Those of us who refused to get scammed into paying gold for the cat rip off are not receiving ANY prizes from the dog kennels that we paid GOLD to upgrade so that we WOULD receive them.

GGS is extorting from everyone: Unless we pay them more gold, they refuse to deliver on product that we have already paid for.

While GGS sits back, twiddling their thumbs and supposedly "WORK ON IT" (HA!), we continually lose paid-for product and/or those that aren't aware, pay into GGS's extortion and buy the cat, attempting to fix the problem.
It is not in the best interest of GGS to fix this problem, so obviously, it won't happen anywhere in the near future.

I'm all into the fantasy that this game offers, but when GGS steals my gold... REAL life cash money, it makes it very difficult to live in fantasy land.

** Has anyone else noted the lack of Moderator or GGS input on this obviously very hot chat issue?
{GGS: "Shhhh...don't respond, maybe they will just accept it and the swindle can continue. We should be able to milk this one for a loooong time. heh, heh, heh" }

Oh, silly me.....because this is GGS. What was I thinking!!!

Why not just have us buy the darn cat with farm dollars & be done with it.

The cat idea was cute. Now that it has arrived it is either too expensive for most or extremely time consuming to achieve. Either way it is no longer cute. Only GGS can take a cute little kitty & make it into a drudgery.......

Sometimes I have 2 cats on main farm the other cats look like stuffed toys. I do wonder if these cats had not been white, the dogs would have been same colours as the cats when training.This is how many charms I have after 1 week, would have had more if the cats where not so dissappointing

@FarmerCli (US1) I don't think @Cedar (US1) was saying at all that people were all buying cat with gold what he or she was referencing is that people paid gold to upgrade dog for better rewards and some players are not getting the rewards that they did pay to get. Again Cedar is probably right that a few actually paid for the cat which is ok if that is how they choose to spend. Most of us like you Cli will just plod along collecting but again GGS made a joyful thing into an unhappy drudge. They sure know how to suck the FUN out of the game.

Well as expected, the cat thing comes loaded with issues. However, I don't care how long collecting what ever takes. It will happen eventually. Meanwhile I do get to see a kitty from time to time. One jumped in and out of the box on the cat tower a few times. Now I have no clue what happens when we finally reach the amount asked for. (And it will NEVER be done with gold. Insane amounts no less. Never.)

So let the thing sit there. (Since there is no way to remove it. Glad I only put one on each farm.)

Meanwhile, can someone at GG PLEASE get rid of the annoying little money bubble that keeps randomly showing up over the cat thing? I can't tell you how many times I've clicked the dumb thing thinking there was something to harvest. There is not. Only the price of a cat. (No, back to reality here. An animated dinky little graphic.)

Here. This. Add this to your long list of stuff that needs fixing.

So glad you didn't have to pay gold for the cat and that you are enjoying the process.

Damaria is correct; I simply meant that those of us who choose not to do cats are being denied the rewards that we paid gold to receive from our dog kennels. The only option for us, if we want our already paid for rewards, is to buy cats; AKA extortion. And it isn't just some people...it is everyone who does not participate with cats.

For me, real estate on my farms is very valuable and this product is not worth the space...even on the wild assumption that someday it will actually produce anything worthwhile.

Playing style is most definitely everyone's choice. My choice is not to have cats, but my choice is being denied if I want to continue to receive rewards from my dogs. There is no limit to the greed of GGS.

Is there anyway to get these Kitties removed from my farms. Had I known it would take me months or longer to get a cat or that once I built I CAN'T MOVE IT I would never have built it in the first place and no I am not spending 79k gold to get the cat.

Agreed. It is one thing to roll out something that will cost us dearly. But it is quite another to take away something we have paid for.

After over a week, not one peep out of GGS regarding how and when they will rectify this.

I don't understand something here. I just spotted TWO cats on one of my farms. One happily eating from it's food bowl, one wandering around the farm. I am nowhere near actually getting a cat, but it seems I have two. What gives? What exactly happens once the level of charms needed is filled? Anything?

Two Cats...? You're lucky, I can't even get the heart tokens to build the cat-tree . Its been stuck on 0/670,000 since I got the tree. There are no rewards from the mill or from the workers head bubbles or anywhere else.

GGS is supposedly working on this. And supposedly, although charms are not dropping on your farm and there is no way for you to keep track they are being counted.

I found the cat thing in build items. Under the special buildings. Same as the dog house. Just made room and built it. THEN found out I can't possibly tear it down, and wow, they want a lot of charms that dribble out of only a few things. Or gold. no way on that.

What i hate is that someone force me to do something that i don't want , al the company's and game that did that or get too greedy i just leave them behind don't need that kind of scam greedy company

Can't say more about the deep blue see , i have not used it a lot , i am still a low lvl fisher , but looks nice

I placed my Cat Tree on my Gourmet farm and was in the process of collecting cat charms but then all of a sudden my gourmet farm stopped giving away those charms.

I mean, nothing. Even the bakery doesn't offer any charms anymore.
And when I click on the cat house, it asks me for 79,000 gold!!!

Is this happening to others too?
What do I have to do to resume the cat-charm-collection?

I'd say cat charms start working but the dog pukes up his lunch on my corn field, causing the corn to contract some disease, making the chicken feed go bad, killing off the chickens, who then start a cloud of stink over the cow sheds souring the milk, this causes the pies in the bakery to come out bad and no one wants to buy them……. Yea I can see that happening.

LOL WHILE I'm typing this, I have my farm up in another window. Last I looked the hotfix starts in 11 min. Well now its bumped to 21 min. Even their hot fixes are broken.
