  • I posted a comment quite some time ago. Being in regard to issues/complaints from paying/gold buying players re game. In my comment being "more fool you". I received abusive messages. My post being closed, - somewhere along the lines I was offensive in my "more fool you" comment. ???(more  fool you, may have been "MISINTERPRETED"

This is a bit off topic and I apologize, but when I do missions I am usually the lowest player on the mission, I am currently level 60 and I am going against players leveled in the high 100's and 200's and never seem to see any one any where near my level. How this remotely fair? This has happened throughout my experience here...

    Hello,

We try to always have a mission full of players, but sometimes there aren't enough players within your level range that start a mission at the same time as you do so we keep increasing the levels we look for opponents until we manage to fill in the mission.

This is done so that you have to wait as little as possible to get in a mission and have as many players as possible to compete with as this provides the most points.

So even if you are playing against level 200 players and end up in the last position you will get more points than if you would be alone, or against just one other player and being in 1st place.

It looks unfair at a first glance but in the end you receiving more points for taking part in the mission.

In addition the missions matchmaking isn't linked to you level, it is linked to your performance in previous missions, so if you keep having a good performance you will end up being matched against better players.

A level 60 player could defeat a level 200 player if the types of buildings are in favor of the low level player.

You get placed with some like that, depending on how they do in missions, not xp level. If they have low scores for example. Even if they score well against you, you get more the more they get. If you  had players close to your level, getting low amounts you get less certs/rp. Also you all get less if there is a player that puts nothing in at all; it affects all in the mission, not just that player.

Of course we have. It's easy. Most players try to have their fields ready to harvest with special corn (f.i. when you were already in a flower mission, it is more likely that the next one for your fields will be a corn mission) and as soon as this mission comes around/starts, the player will harvest all his/her fields. Which means they can produce hundreds of corn within the very first minute.
Their produce also depends on how many boosters they have bought from the library!

Same thing with the eggs! They just have their chickencoops ready to harvest and remember: the duck eggs from the Gourmet farm also count!!

I must admit: this is how I do play my missions, too. It is just a question of good strategy and time management!

Third possibility: they used gold to skip! I never use gold in my missions, but there are enough players who will!

Books add a certain amount per harvest/batch, not multiply harvests.  level 1 corn handbook will still increase harvest by 3 on top of the hundreds.  more smaller harvests give more benefit from handbooks than 1 big harvest from special seeds.
  • I don't think it is necessarily possible to make the missions fair.  Not in the sense of having all competitors close to the same level.  In order to have the mission start within 5 minutes of the time you agree to take one, the game can choose only from the other players who have agreed to a mission at about the same time.  So particularly at the times of day when fewer people are playing, there wouldn't be enough close competitors within a five-minute interval.

I am also one who doesn't care for the missions.  I'm a little too ADD, and I wander away before the time is up, so I usually lose even when I had the product in the field or wherever.  So sometimes I force myself to do a second in the day, and I especially hate it when the second mission is THE SAME one as the first!

  • I also hate it when you get the same mission back to back. I play a lot late night & early morning, so I understand when I have competitors that are a higher level than I am.

I understand your problem, because most mission I've been played always compete with someone who have the level higher than me. Even I'm now at level 30, the other 5 have the level much higher, although I can win because of player activity

My feeling is that we take the term "competition" too seriously.  It's really not a competition.  Unless you make it your goal in life to win missions, you're going to get beaten badly almost every time.  Rather what it is, is a way to get certificates to build/activate your tractors and a way to gain reputation points to help your co-op in the Co-op Challenge.   In other words, don't try to win the mission, just work on building up certs and rep points.

    I agree with that

Considering you are currently in first place, with over 2200 alfalfa, seems balanced to me. LOL

if this exampe it to illustrate the level difference - i think you see the missions in a competitive win/lose only - while yes that is part of the mission but reallyit is not the sole or main purpose of the missions

once you think about this differently and understand the other purposes its easy to do these missions without the feeling of needing to spend gold or stress over being top or bottom dog

Yes, I tend to get to competitive. In high school I played football for four years and was a starter all four years, wasn't because I was great a football player rather we usually only had twelve or thirteen guys on the team, and lucky to have eleven bodies at the end of the season. So you played offense, defense, special teams. We had four coaches in four years won two games in four years, and I learned two things; First I learned about losings,  that someone always wins, some always loses. Everyone one remembers the winners and no one remembers the losers.Second it taught me that I hate losing at any thing lol Sadly I lose way more then I ever win so I just keep giving it everything I have and to win what I can... if I don't there is always a another chance to try to win around the corner whether it is in this game or in life in general..

Totally unfair, I don't bother busting a gut to get missions done now I just do what I can and shelve it if I make the allotted figure otherwise go afk til the next mission.
  • Why do I keep getting matched up with players of level 150 and up?  I am only level 64 and I would like to have a chance of winning 1 or 2 but when all of them are level 150, 200+, 300, it's impossible and I'm finding that doing missions is becoming unfun.

    Thanks for letting me vent
  • It is partly to do with where the other players are, if they don't do many missions, they are placed in lower groups.
  • And so us lower leveled have to suffer?
  • Uncle John (GB1)Uncle John (GB1) GB1 Posts: 11,004
not really. Your mission score is mainly based on how much you produce irrelevant of where you finish. There is a small bonus which varies with finishing position but it is based on the total produced by all players added together so coming 2nd or 3rd to someone who produces vastly more than you will actually get you more points than coming 1st with the same quantity of production !
  • Surya54 (INT1)Surya54 (INT1) INT1 Posts: 507
In fact, as long you aren't in last place of active players, which can be distinguish from score (normally inactive players at 0), it would be better than placing in 1st position with same quantity

    @Grannie Jackie (US1)

    Here's how it works:

Each player in a mission gets RP based on their own score & then, in addition, each (except the one in last place) also gets a % of the total RP earned by all the players.

Any players with 0 score are eliminated, so a mission of 6 players where 2 players have 0 score, will count as a mission of 4 players, with the 4th place player being "last".

The % of the total RP that each player earns, varies depending on the number of active players in the missions:
    2 players = 100% - 0%
    3 players = 100% - 50% - 0%
    4 players = 100% - 90% - 10% - 0%
    5 players = 100% - 90% - 40% - 10% - 0%
    6 players = 100% - 90% - 80% - 20% - 10% - 0%

It is definitely much more beneficial for lower level players to be drawn against those with much higher scores & even big gold users, as long as they do not come in last place.

So though it's natural to want to come in first, and be placed in missions against others at our own level, you are benefiting going up against those higher levels who are able to harvest larger amounts which increases the total RP for everyone, except the person in last place.

  • Ahhhhhh   ok  ty all for the info.  :)
  • missions suck when you see the same players  and when you have play against players like your a level 28 and the are 200plus REALLY quit playing waste of time and you just want us to use our gold to win and buy more not fun anymore and hasn't been for a long time

@cindie62 (US1) The point of missions is to get as many RP and certificates as you can & you will get more of them from coming 3rd or 4th against high level players that get really high scores, than you would by coming 1st against players the same level as you with low scores. Provided you do not come last, you will always be better off playing against high scorers.

Check out the thread Mission RP Divjsion .  All is explained
  • Missions are a must for everyone, but it is exceptionally unfair.  The newcomers & lower ranks have little chance when the BIG farms drop thousands of items quickly.  Needs to be a challenge but also needs to be a way.  Not everyone wants or has tons of gold to throw away but it seems that is required if you want to make points.  Why can't there be a level exclusion so that those farms of similar size can challenge each other instead of a level 400 plus in with a level 90 *i.e."????  The co-op challenges when all work together are great, but if you want a daily requirement, then it needs to be more rational.  Know some may shelve, but their contributions still hurt the up and coming.  Just don't think it's particularly fair to those of lesser rank.

it is a good thing to be placed with high level players, and gold spenders, in missions..

    missions are a team effort..

edit: if you and everyone in your mission make ~500 product and you come in second or third place to someone with 15k product, you will get more points than you would if you came in first place with 1500 product beating everyone else with 500 product. if there are four or more people in a mission and you come in second place, you get ~90% of the rep points that the person in first place got, minus that persons product.

There have been ENDLESS posts about this.

Its not about winning, but as qewt says, then if u end 2nd og 3rd, then u will also make good points - even for a low level player.

u will get much less for the same effort, with having missions with ur own level range or solo missions. In this way it benefits everyone.

The way I look at daily missions is this:  it's just a matter of completing them.  Win, lose, or draw, you finish the task and get the daily $ .

You get much less reward for finishing in 4th or 5th place with 800 product with other players getting more than 3000 product than getting first place alone with 800 product with everyone else at 0.

You get 1 worldwide championship coop point for getting 5th place with 2000 product but get 40 WWC points for getting 1st place with 100 product and everyone else at 0.
