Currently, it's (almost) impossible to upgrade Farm Lab, Academy, Lester's Stash, and playing temp farm due to DSF Nerf. I also felling sad when many players lost the interest to play this game anymore. Let's hope we can revert the update so this game become enjoyable again, if possible

GGS isn't comprised of a handful of zealous gaming nerd teenagers whipping up some fun in the basement in their spare time to fight off boredom. They have the same qualified business tacticians that could, in other circumstances, counsel corrupt politicians. (hmmm, corrupt politicians, as if their are any other kind) This was no more a Boo Boo of poor planning than 'a politician is foolish' . They are ingenious enough to hide behind the ooops mask because it makes us more pliable, somehow more forgiving.

They invited us to grab that plastic to invest in a wonderful hobby, but Never informed us what they knew all along... that they would take it back within weeks & to heck with us. We were conned and I believe have the right to be offended.

Yes, long-winded... but I managed to avoid using the words like thieving and Cretans even once.
No more, 'Aren't they silly & impractical business people lacking wisdom?' They are con artists!
No More gold sales from this ol farm gal... done & done!

Sums up my thoughts on them as well. We were conned, players that believe otherwise are kidding themselves. In my case i'm lucky because I spent about 20 dollars when I first began playing this game and haven't spent a thing since then. Unfortunately it seems AU server spending hasn't been affected after this joke of an update with some high scores yet again in the CC. I've scored a much much lower rep point total this time round, even as a coop leader I can't bring myself to reward this stupid company with my time and effort after the way they have treated us all. Even with 60+ pages of negativity and anger we are still being ignored.

Wow they made 800 million dollars on their games?......lying cheating and conning to do so is quite a sad way of running a business and I hope a competitor releases a game better than this so we can all leave and play a fun game that doesn't involve screwing over the customer.

I'm going with the disgruntled employee theory.  No one could have so much disrespect for their own product.

Exactly. In stead of trying to be true to its customers, and preserving the core values of the game, ggs tries to join the casino games. Why don't they see that their main customer is a different person, with different reason to play. If they did not spend as much money implementing changes what are not in line with the core of the game, and instead made the core elements work perfectly, they would satisfy their core customers to a lower cost, and in the end make more money.

Why don't they evaluate what made many hard playing customers, of which many spend a great deal of money, stay and play more or less daily, for 4+ years, and try to keep them happy, and to attract more similar players, who, for much less spending from ggs part, will keep playing for years to come, and keep spending more than enough real money to keep ggs making good profit.

I think they have a bad business plan, which is to costly to implement, and which will lose them their core customers, but not gain them enough new customers. I think they would benefit from reevaluate and re balance (!) their business plan.

And I have studied economics at university, this is not based on my disappointment in the last changes, but on knowledge in marketing and economics.

I've stopped playing dsf in disgust, but I am hoping things will get better, and i enjoy the posts, so I keep reading ...

I did get a bit of a chuckle from the post that said how now the "sharks" are down on the sand dunes, trying to stop the fishing of clams. Yep, that is what is happening?

They send out a timely press release about how well the Empire game is doing. Sucks boo to bf! Makes me wonder - again - if they do have plans to ditch bf in the foreseeable future. They could  channel more of their resources into empire and the mobile games.

Empire is not doing well players are leaving in their droves and they keep lowering prices of building to try and keep the game alive.
I started playing Empire at about the same time I started Big Farm. I have been back about 3 times - all when I couldn't get into BF - and it is just about impossible for me to play. The pop-ups and events menus take over almost all of the play area, and to be honest it was just a time waster for me as I don't like battle games. I enjoyed building my city up, but to do that you needed to win battles. Haven't visited that game for well over a year and I might as well demolish my city.  I know at least 5 other BF players who have stopped playing Empire.

I get a swordfish pool every 3-4 days.  I continue to think that restoring the pools to their former layout is a key part of correcting this.

Please can you do a re-think on the Deep-sea Fishing area.  I'm a top level player on GB1 server with 14 level 6 Trawlers & with hardly any Cod Salmon & Swordfish ...I can not make hardly any farm $  just getting over the price of the crew's since the up-date so i dread to think how the lower level players are coping. Someone has made a boob in the numbers they just don't add-up.  Consider giving us the option to sell our deep-sea fish even at a lower price than before 17k of herring & nothing to do with them :-(

I just read the new GGS statement...

    https://community.goodgamestudios.com/bigfarm/en/discussion/comment/3618622/#Comment_3618622

I cannot believe that they missed the mark this badly.  I gave them some credit for being able to potentially find the right middle ground.  Clearly they have failed at that.  I am stunned by the tone-deafness of this unfortunate statement.

Let me quote from the statement  "While this improves in later contract levels we recognise that the current rewards and requirements, particularly in lower level contracts are not appealing "

They cannot improve.  Because the contracts are so bad, you must decline so many, that the contracts do not progress as they did on the first organic market.  I was here for the entire development of that market.  That market works really well.  Why can't you learn from that?
  • okay they had to put it back the deep sea back so my question is now i need my farm removed from the game im done with

Thank you for sharing the latest from the gods of Hamburg.  They are the spin masters of understatement. Some backlash, some anger. WOW Seems to me they didn't expect this much anger and backlash and don't know what to do and they are trying to mollify us with vague promises of change that more then likely will never come. They must think we are all naive children who don't know any better to even post something like this. They have had over a week to come up with something and this is the best they can come up with ????

That's completely fine if that is their attitude towards their customers. I would much rather spend my money on tangible things, anyway. Still have bought no gold since the bait was switched. It feels really good. Switch it back or no gold. Not backing down.

Sometimes, also in real business as real farming is too, you need to invest and accept little loss to get to big profit ;)

More lies from GGS, this time directly from CM Hunter's keyboard (or mobile phone).... totally ridiculous

I told you Santa will show us a nice brand new swordfish statue decoration....

"......... Ponds, times, equipment As many of you are aware the fishing spots were also rebalanced to provide high value fish less often than before. We truly apologise for not including this in the original announcement, it was not our intent to conceal this fact from you and it was an error on our part that the information was not included and not therefore down to the moderators. While the current balance is not likely to be changed many alternatives were discussed to this situation and they are being evaluated as to the best fit and implementation. Fishing times, chum production times and equipment costs are also unlikely to change but, as with the balance of the fishing spots, alternatives have been and are being discussed........"

I think they bought beer with the DSF windfalls. A LOT of beer and they're still working on consumption. Enjoy it GGS peoples, because those are the last drinks you'll have on this customer.

What can I say. How long before things improve? It took one key stroke/update to make this mess. I suggest GGs you hit the reset key and go back a couple of weeks and try it again. This time tell us in advance what you are planning so we can build up stocks. It appears that you are making this up as you go along.  Hardly seen any swordfish and these are needed both in contracts and at mermaid bay.

A big shout out to all who put the block on buying gold this CC another few blocks of buying gold during the next few CC will perhaps make GG decide much faster as "a maybe in the future we can sell our fish" is not an answer. we worked hard to upgrade our trawlers  and buy the equipment needed. we want the same rights as in the organic market we want to be able to sell our fish,Also as a good will gesture on their part they should also reimburse us some of the dollars we spent on those now worthless trawlers. BUT on a good NOTE at lest they took out the flash sales of points from the CC apart from at the very end hoping some would buy them, never one to miss a trick hey GG? still trying to  dangle the golden carrot called buy points for gold to give some a unfair advantage. It is you GG and YOU alone that is destroying the game you have destroyed the CC with your money making scheme and you have the cheek to say to us being able to sell our fish will unbalance the game? shame on you. :/
  • Like many of you I am sorely disappointed in the changes to the fishing harbor.  I completely disagree with the revamping and feel insulted by the most recent statement from GGS.  I have only been playing for a year and will admit to taking fullest advantage of the windfalls created when direct selling of fish was possible.  The "discussions" that GGS developers have been having do not directly address the overall inequity of the new contracts process.  Yes, in farming and fishing you win some and you lose some (both in real life and on this game), however if there is not any return on your investment then you are going to pull out and put your investing capital elsewhere.

I play the game for relaxation and fun, not to have to do mathematical calculations on a daily basis to determine whether my investment of time, farm dollars, and even gold is gong to be worth it.  I am in the majority in that if there are not any significant changes to the fishing area, then this will no longer be a part of my daily play.  The negatives outweigh by far any potential small benefits.  I have many other opportunities to spend my entertainment dollars that will provide me with satisfaction without the headache.

I understand the desire to maintain the "challenge" of the game however when making such a substantial change then at least more time and effort could have gone into forecasting the extreme backlash that was and is occurring in the community and addressing it at the outset.  It is poor business judgement and extremely poor customer service to have waited over a week to address the concerns.  A huge shout out to the mods who have been working hard to stem the tide (pun intended) of the justifiably angry community.

If the capability to restore direct selling of fish is not going to be implemented and the "balance" of the ponds is not going to change then I sincerely recommend the contracts be revised.  When the majority of the contracts that come in include requests for fish that do not even appear for days at a time, if at all, then what is the point?  At least with the farming contracts, even though the quantities may be extreme, a player has the opportunity to harvest those items every day.  Just my thoughts and two cents (might be worth a half-pence at this point).

Happy Farming since we can't be happy fishers!

    Regards,
    Mrs. White
  • Over this game~ I'm not spending my time and money fishing and creating chum etc. to find out I'm stuck with it.  It's not worth my while if I can't sell it directly.  It's getting harder to advance, there's too many things to do and I'm about to give this game up if they don't fix that.

I am not sure if GGS realizes the Lab costs 123,686,971,000 to upgrade fully.

For a very good player that used speadsheets to find the best profit for the dockyard area, she averaged 134,582,313 a day.  Some feel we were making t0o much cash from the dockyard.

So lets put that all together and break it down a bit.

    123,686,971,000 (lab cost) ÷ 134,582,313 (Dockyard cash daily) = 919 days
    919 (days) ÷ 365 (days in a year) = 2.52 years

It would take 2.52 YEARS to upgrade JUST the Lab if she were to use the cash from the dockyard to upgrade the Lab ONLY.

Let's think about all the other stuff in the game.... We have the academy, lesters secret stash, the temp islands, and a new volcanic island in the near future. We also have expensive buildings on 3 farms and land on all 3 farms as well.

GGS please tell me were there is any type of balance in the Lab costs.  2 & 1/2  years to upgrade 1 building?? And that was WITH the dockyard as it was BEFORE the update.

I noticed a higher level player state they made about 5 mil a day with regular farming and the updated dockyard.  It would take a higher level player 68 years to upgrade the Lab if they ONLY upgrade just the Lab and nothing else.  68 years!!!  I will not even be alive that long, that would put me well over 100 years old.  We really need a bit more rationality in this game.  I thought the Dockyard was the answer but ya ripped that away ....  now what?  I am going to die never owning a level 100 Lab ... thanks GGS for smashing my hopes and dreams.

    That ripped the soul

Has anyone tried to play the market?l have, I will list things that are wrong, most of the contracts involve herring chum or tuna chum takes me ten hrs to produce the amount needed? after that there are clams at least 150 per contract but only one pool daily produceing say 60 so I have been spending my dollars for about 4 days with NIL return, fishing pools are mostly herrings and tuna no cod or lobsters, by the way my docks are at maximum and so are my 13 trawlers and I still cannot earn a dime thanks ggs I have never bought gold and I will not in the future.

To GG and the mods who have their ear,

Again, WHY do you even have a TEST SERVER?  This whole deep sea thing was NEVER TESTED!
The test server was a great idea.  SO USE IT!!!!!! Put a new feature out there, let some real players fiddle with it for a few MONTHS.  Put an easy way to leave live feedback right in that game.
    Love it?
    Hate it?
    Meh,?
    and a text box why.
    SIMPLE!

Then go crunch your numbers and find out if something needs adjustment, test it again, and only AFTER all the bugs and math kinks are worked out, do you roll it out to the world.

But no.  I put it to you that your all just too short sighted and greedy.  You actually rolled out a feature people LOVED.  Many sunk tons of resources into, including real money, not to mention time.
Now you yank it away with no real warning at all?

At this point the only damage control you have available is put it back the way it was.
As has been pointed out many times, OTHER THINGS in this game are SO insanely overpriced, they simply don't get upgrades at all. This was a means of balance and it got people playing again.
Even if you ultimately decide it needs to be scaled back, you already rolled it out.  People have already invested.  This is really simple.  Put it back, even if for just a set period of time.  I'd suggest at least as long as it's been live.  And make that clear IN GAME exactly how much time is left.  Just like with events. This would give everyone a chance to recoop invested time and so on, sell off what they got THEN try again.

It's probably already too late for many though. I know a lot of folks already tore down their farms and left.
This was one of the stupidest moved I've seen you make here.

Test server folks.  Spend the time to use it. Might have saved you a lot of customers.
  • Well said Artmaker (GB1)....Bravo !!

Will you be our advocate !!??!!

WHAT YOU STATED ALONG WITH THE FACT IT COSTED YOU MONEY AND THE REWARD DOSE NOT EVEN COME CLOSE TO THE COST IS THE REASON WHY I AM RIPPING DOWN MY FLEET AND NOT USING THIS PART OF THE GAME AT ALL ANY MORE.

NO POINT UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOSE MONEY.

i FEEL THE SAME WAY ABOUT THE COOP VILLAGE. PUT A TOM OF MONEY INTO IT SO YOU CAN FILL A BOAT THAT THE REWARD DOSE NOT EVEN COME CLOSE TO THE AMOUNT OF MONEY YOU SPENT.

BOTH HAVE TURNED OUT TO BE THE EQUIVALENT OF PAYING FOR A CURSE AND THE EXTRAS THEN MISSING THE BOAT. A TON OF MONEY DOWN THE TOILET AND NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT.
