As angry, mad, frustrated, hurt, feelings of being deceived, lied to, ignored as a lot of us feel we all have to keep one thing in mind as much as we all feel that this is our game it truth it isn't it belongs to GGS and they are entitled to do with it as they wish. Do I feel what they did with the Deep Sea farm was right? No. Some more advanced notice and allowing those who had substantial fish inventories, like myself to sell those inventories before this diabolical started would probably minimized much of the back lash GGS is now getting. My concern is that GGS will just shut the whole game down with out notice, log off one day can't log in the next cause the game is gone. They have a history of doing just that. If they do something like that then we all lose. That being said, I me my self and I alone will not buy gold nor compete in CC or Deep Sea or extra farms or any of the other things that GGS offers just so they can increase their profit margins.

What others do is up to them, I was going to quit but by doing that GGS wins but instead I will plod along playing my three farms till I am bored then I will be done. I will leave on my terms not because GGS angers me with there stupid pig headed decisions to ruin a great game
You have a point BUT here's the thing.....people have spent real money on an in-game feature that turned out to be a scam, GGS are walking a fine line here. Someday they will cross the wrong person (if they haven't already) who might be willing to take this further.
Take it further how, exactly?  Sue them?  Let's get real here.  No laws were broken.  This isn't a democracy.  They can do what they want with their own game whenever they want.  They introduced a new element into the game.  Some people jumped in and paid gold to maximize the features and speed things up -- optional choice on the part of the players.  Optional.  They then changed everything without warning rendering many of those features useless.  Yes, the gold spenders could say they were robbed, but at no time was payment ever demanded.  Purely the players' choice.

Sure you have to use gold on some things after a certain point -- doghouse, water tower, etc -- but gold also is available for free if you are patient, so again, gold buying is optional.  Always has been.

It's their game.  They can pull the plug on it tomorrow without warning, and the way things are going, they just might be doing that very soon.  (And if they do, good luck getting any unspent gold back.)  In the meantime, you either walk away or play under their terms.  And if you buy gold, well, caveat emptor.  "You pays your money and you takes your chances."  Not fair, but there it is.

Unethical way to run a business though dont you think ? @artful (US1) you may be right in saying there is nothing we can do but vent how we feel here , but its leaving a very bitter taste for alot of their customers

If you read all my posts on this and other threads, you know I'm in agreement with everything you just said.  I'm merely addressing one issue.  We can be as mad as we want at how they operate, but it changes nothing. Their game.  Their rules.

@artful (US1) yes I have been following alot of your posts.

Sadly your right , their game , their rules.

But they really cant expect people not to be angry and not stay quiet .

As I've said I really do understand the whole balancing thing BUT it was all handled so badly on THEIR behalf !!

They have to acknowledge and apologise for that . Then they need to correct the balancing side of the deep sea fishing for those still involved with it.

Othewise they will lose alot of gold sales and players ... maybe they dont care ? idk ?

If there happened to be just ONE ethical Big Boss in this company, they would have taken the time to write a personal message to we the players and not pass the buck the way they are. Someone at the top must realise the amount of anger this has caused, yet not one of the people responsible for this debacle has had the decency to PERSONALLY get in touch with us.  To get the Mods (how they can continue doing their jobs beats me, I would have thrown in the towel months ago so thank you to them all) to give us wishy-washy answers AND THEN LEAVE FOR THEIR WEEK-END JOLLIES strikes me as being both rude and uncaring. It is if they want this game to go down the toilet - well, they are going the right way to achieve their wishes.

    1. Now, where my swordfish and herring pools? Need to complete the daily tasks but cannot.
    2. Lost more profit when this stupid market available, how can I build more expensive ship, only have 4 motorboat only for now, have a task that need me to build 4 level 6 trawler, how can do it?
    For examples:

    Before, 10 swordfish is 471,880 dollar (47,188 x 10)
    Now, 471,880 - 160,808 = 311,072
So, one karma points is 311,072? So expensive.... I can get a free when other members give me presents. No need to give me this stupid 'ball'... Also the rake.... I can use humus to do the same action...
ask ggs if they need more karma points with same rate , we can sell our karma points to them at the same rate till we ll get old fishes style back.

DO YOU GUYS THINK WHY GGS TAKEN BACK FISHES POND ? ANY GUESS

    They are bugs free  :'(:'(

So @artful (US1) if I am reading you right their game their rules  how is this game to survive at all, who does business when people change the rules to suit them to their advantage at any whim or excuse they choose to use.  I am not a lawyer and dont know where the line is that has to be crossed, so you have this knowledge?  I could contact paypal to get a better understanding if players have any protections and get back to you.

The announcement shows that they do not care....to sum it up its basically "we appreciate your feedback and have taken it onboard, the deep sea fishing changes will remain the same". By leaving it the same its obvious they haven't taken anything onboard, the announcement is basically a polite way of saying "screw you" which is what this update has done to many many players.

It hasn't frustrated me to the point of leaving because I will generally just go with the flow (like the village, hate hate hate it but still participate for my team) BUT if I can ask for 1 thing......u cut the profits 60%+, least u can do is cut the price of crew/equipment by the same if balance is sooo important to you.

who is running like this  ? ggs or players ?
If players is running like this , then i think they are finding ggs all over the world and at the end they found them .

    GGS is scared now ?

Yeah, but it's "free to play."  And if you have ever tried to get Paypal interested in buyer protection on small international transactions, then you know that's a dead end.  I invite you to contact any international business law atty.  I wish all of you could get the point -- no one has a legal leg to stand on.  So all this d**k wagging on the playground and threatening to sue or leave doesn't matter a bit in reality.  That's all I'm saying.  Let's not turn this into an argument -- I'm not arguing with anybody, just stating the facts which should be obvious.  Just pointing out the reality of the situation.

You can always decline those tyupe of contracts, if you wish.

Personally, I don't, because our Co-Op love the rakes, Pet the Animals, and Karma.

That said though, it definitely cuts into the fishing profits. I'm hoping once I get the Fish Market leveled up some more and start seeing some of the bonuses, that I'll start making a profit instad of taking a loss.. But for now, I'll take what I can get.

(No, I'm still NOT happy about the changes - I'm just trying to make the best out of a bad situation. I've had to go back to MANUALLY FISHING for Hogfish just to keep from losing money, and I don't have to tell you how boring THAT is.. Fortunately, The Defenders came out on Netflix today, so that'll keep me occupied for about 8 hours while I manually fish for cash). :)

Thanks artful no problem  guess if you choose to do business with shady characters then you get shafted.  Guess I am a bit naivee'  I still believe in fair play expect to be treated with respect, well my blinders are gone eyes wide open.

My two contracts are for clams and cod.  And of course all my pools are filled with tuna.  Have been for days.  At the rate I'm catching them, my first contracts might be filled some time after Christmas.  Up to my neck in rakes, brushes, and Karma points, so they hold no attraction for me.

I mentioned that fishing would be background noise for me, checking my catches/totals once a day.  Once a week seems more like it.

Enjoy fishing for hogfish.  Don't forget the sunscreen!

I haven't been tracking it (although I wish I had been!), but I'd guesstimate that 95% of my pools have also been Tuna/Herring. Over the past 2 days since the patch, I've had about 4 SwordFish pools, *1* Lobster Pool, 4-5 Shrimp/Clam/Oyster Pools, and probably 25-30 Tuna/Herring pools.

There's definitely a problem there, in my opinion.

It may have been put there intentionally to further bottleneck us in completely contracts, making sure that we can only complete a couple of contracts a day. I'm waiting to see what they say in regards to that, since Wabbit touched on the fact that the change was intentional, but they're checking to see if it's working as intended.

If it is, I'm going to completely write of the Fishing HWE.

If not, they've still got about a week to make some further "adjustments" to the spawn percentages.

Okay...it's not funny not to be able to sell my fish anymore, but....it is very, very very ridiculous that the only fish i can catch is tuna and hering.......no other area in the deepsea, no other fish.....stupid stupid....!!!!
In my coop the only fish we get is tuna and herring too..... A few members still get the swordfish.....It is infuriating yes...

I have a feeling this tuna herring fiasco is also an intended move.in a week or so they will "fix" the spots, remove some rakes/brushes from contracts ,will throw a new event, architect or two.. and the things will slowly settle down , just like when they removed the gold mining license from cc.

if you understand buissiness, if you understand what customer relation is, then you also understand that our complaints will have to be taken seriously.
because without us the customers, your shop will have no money and will go bankrupt
so, please do not ignore us , the customer, and restore the (fishing) game to the point we,
    the customer enjoy playing it.
if you do a minor change in dollars we can earn with it , and I mean "minor" I can live with that.
but if no changes are made, i know what i am going to do. :/

when done that, stop attacking our moderators, they are doing a great job to help us, and all out of free will as you should know.  Our mods are not the people who eventually would ban you

BigFarm says they're worried about long term challenge - but something just struck me.  Millions of people have been playing Solitaire for hundreds and hundreds of years.  Where's the long term challenge in Solitaire?  Yet we play it generation after generation after generation.  I think there must be some misunderstanding here of why people play games.

    Edited to add:
Now that I think about it, where was the long term challenge in BigFarm after I got my farms up to making $10-$15 million a day?  I'd built up a billion dollars in my bank account long before Deep Sea came along.  Why did I keep on playing?  Surely I must have been bored out of my skull.  But somehow I wasn't.

Yes, I definitely think there's misunderstanding of why people play games and what they like about them.
I was thinking the same as Buddy about the classic games, they prove that the rules of a game can be quite simple and easily mastered, and yet keep you entertained for hours. Solitaire is a great example.

I've been playing more Sudoku since the bottom fell out of the market for deep sea fish .Am pondering online jigsaws for a bit of easy interaction with pretty graphics.

I guess all popular games have lots in common, but also that we all have favourite games for different reasons  and therein lies the tricky bit. eg Draughts or chess as kids. Two classic games popular for different reasons. Chess used to have me screaming with boredom as it is too slow and complicated for my tastes. Much to the horror of my chess loving friends I was far happier to play draughts - as it was faster game with very simple rules.

Back to BF, I tried the idea of just sticking my boats on pools without loading them up, and taking what fish came off . I wonder how others found that. For me it was too much clickety click for very little result - at the same interest level as a daily mission of alfalfa.

  • We are being told the boating/fishing changes are for the good of the game, to stop us building to fast etc, but we can still "build to fast" if we use gold. I think we can see why the changes have been made.

I'm sending my boats out without crew or equipment, no point spending the money or time on the part of the game now, I'm hopeful I might get 1 good contract a week.
