    G'day Pichu

Firstly, kudos to you and the others that have been given the job of trying to defend these undefendable game changes.

Lets point out a few facts that we, the players are aware of.
In the orgasmic markets we can sell our product or not, the choice is ours. With the fish market the only way to make money is to sell there.
In the orgasmic market the contracts always have money and sometime bonuses. In the Fish market some of the contracts have no money and only bonuses. What is the point of a contract that doesn't pay? I can not go to my local fish market and offer 1 rake and 2 brush and expect to receive 150 cod.
The bonus offered are rakes and brushes, nothing to do with fishing, the bonuses should at the very least be crew and equipment.
The value of the products we sell have gone down to about 10% of the original price.
We are told the changes are for balance and because players are upgrading there farms to quickly. Yet the option to upgrade farms quickly remains (and therefore unbalance the game) if we want to use gold.

All the changes seem to be based on greed and gold. Please do not treat us, the players as if we dont understand this

    Regards.
    Hey there,

I totally got your points and your feedback. We have a bunch of feedback from all communities to discuss.

I hope the stuff I wrote doesn't give you the impression I would like to treat you as kids or something else. If it is so: I am really sorry!

    Cheers,
    Pichu

    DECLARATION

We, THE FIRM, one of the biggest coop in the UK server, decided to use our only possibility of protest against unethical and immoral  Goodgame Studios policy.

FROM THIS VERY MOMENT WE DON'T BUY ANY GOLD.

This provision lasts until GGS rebalance their last steps or until GGS kill this game.
In the meantime we will enjoy our company, we will have a fun and we will continue in pure farming.

I put here this declaration as a leader of this amazing group xx:))

  • The possibility to directly sell chum and Deep Sea fish will be removed Im so now not happy with the decision i dont use the normal organic market so this new deep sea market is of no interest to me at all trawlers will go to scrap yard, fishermen unemployed, dock yard scrapped.

Maybe there is something wrong with my eyesight Pichu but please could you tell me where the money is in this contract?  300K to send my boat out for 1 rake and 1 brush.  Your comment "You will still earn money from the contracts in the market! It is not like that you will earn nothing anymore."  is completely ridiculous.

Not every contract has cash as reward. There are still some contracts without cash but the majority of contracts have it as reward.

    Cheers

Totally untrue @Pichu please don't come here to insult our intelligence

There is a little cash plus items in some of the contracts, but as far as I can see most times (if not every time, still busy with numbers) the amount of cash is lower than the cost to send several boats out at sea

The truth is that there is no income whatsoever in this part of the game.

GGS expects us to spend to build a very expensive fleet, continue spending to keep the fleet operative, then "exchange" the fish for items.  In the eyes of GGS, our profit are rakes, brushes, seeds, seaweed and so on, no cash income of any sort.

This also depletes the cash we earn in other parts of the game, whatever comes from selling goods produced in our 3 farms, and the little cash that can be (still) made with Oleg and the fish restaurant

Overall if we keep the fishing area active, the purchasing power of our earnings decreases because the fishing market diverts some of the income into buying items which are not essential and which will feed the Casino game,  gifts and tokens etc

And you are well aware  this is the case @Pichu  so please stop coming back here insulting us.

If you are honestly telling what you know, obviously you are not well informed, in which case you should go ask your colleague Meela, the "number" guy the truth about this situation. Where is he btw, why does he not tell us directly ?

I am not here to insulting you. I try to help as much as I can. I asked the Team about the contracts. This was the answer. Meela is currently on vacation. You may have some answers about exact numbers when he's back. Just to make sure: We are here because we want to help you. This is a service we provide because we want to. In situations where we dont have time please dont expect any posts.

If you think I am here to insult you then I am sorry that you have the feeling.

  • I am NOT happy that they are changing the Deep Sea Fishing!!!!

Yes, I know it needed to be rebalenced. BUT NO more derect selling of Deep Sea fish is TOO much!!!

  • I can't afford to equip my boats and put them back in the sea with this change. More than half my boats are not in use right now. Very bad Idea, whoever thought of this?!!!!!!

I think the timing of favorite offers Tessas tips is bad. The balloon if I wanted it I may have had a chance to earn through fishing has been totally blown away

Well done :) I hope that the rest of the coops on our server do the same. Our very tiny coop certainly wont be buying any gold, we will cope with what we can get for levelling up and when that runs out we shall have to do without. (If we meet in a mission in CC please take pity on me lol)  :)

Hmmmm, first they take away the opportunity to earn some dollars, then they expect us to throw away some of the dollars that we did earn? This is one offer I shall pass on, thanks very much !

Haven't been able to play since the update. Glitchety-glitch-glitch. Soooo...I took screenshots of everything, sent 4 individual tickets outlining each technical issue, informing them that I'd already cleared the cache, flash cache, and browser history, that my browser and flash were up to date, etc. I attached 4 screenshots displaying the issues. They sent me an email suggesting that I clear my cache, flash cache, and browser history, make sure my browser and flash were up to date, AND asked me to take and send screenshots displaying the issues. Now...in attempting to reply and resend the aforementioned screenshots, gmail will not recognise their address as able to receive replies. So I come here to see if anyone else is having the same troubles since the magnificent update and find that I cannot log in to the forums for over a day.

Folks, I'm done. This is too much. Farm...gone.

  • I am not sure of the point of spending any real money on the game now, GGS have proven untrustworthy, what else will they be taking away that we don't know about on another day when they feel like it, after taking the gold of course.
I expect a lot of players will just fade out.

At least the fishing offset some of money spent on numerous other events, before the permanent co-op challenges, we were able to slowly progress, now it is impossible for new players to participate and upgrade at a reasonable rate without spending heaps, which brings me back to my first point again, untrustworthy, I don't pay cowboys for half jobs.

  • I clicked on my farm,,then I logged out. I cannot  even look at it. I know I will never get the upgrades I need without spending gold. My ships are rusting as all I have are tuna/herring pools. I do not want to waste my time getting brushes and rakes. I am disabled and spend a lot of time on my farm as it brought me enjoyment,  Shame on you GG  :'(

When people are enjoying a game, they spend cash to support it and recommend it to friends in other games.  Make the game frustrating, and that stops.  Just my 2 cents, which I'd never actually spend on this game.

For the third day I am pushing myself to play this game since the changes in the Deep Sea Fishing. Big Fish creators, you took the joy. I just sent all my trawlers out and then thought, why did I do that. I will bring the trawlers in and stop sending them out. Now that you stated you have no plans to change the Deep Sea Fishing and reading between the lines you pretty much said get over it, I think it is time to shop around for another game. I really loved this game. I loved the fact I was finally achieving a few goals. Now, there are parts of this game that is just a money drain. heaven forbid that we make progress in an area, the next thing I see is update making changes (not the first time) and needing gold to manage. I spent a little real money in the beginning. I have not spent in a long time so I am sure my opinion no longer counts. Seems to be all about the real cash than it does in the gaming enjoyment. Sign me disillusioned.
  • Okay...it's not funny not to be able to sell my fish anymore, but....it is very, very very ridiculous that the only fish i can catch is tuna and hering.......no other area in the deepsea, no other fish.....stupid stupid....!!!!

They could have totally prevented the fall-out caused by this update by COMMUNICATING with us the players - they know who we are, we are the people who buy the gold which ultimately pays their salaries.  If players were given fair warning that the option to sell their fish in-game was being removed to be replaced by fulfilling orders then they would have had the opportunity to sell the stocks in their inventory. And, as there is only a minority of players who regularly visit the forum, a message among the many pop-ups we get would have made sure that everyone saw the message.  There are players who are not members of a coop who may still be unaware of this 'upgrade' and who will get a shock. I did not know that this had happened until I went to sell my (few) fish this morning. GGS could also - as many have already stated - have decreased the price of fish sold and kept the 2 options as we already have in the organic market.  It is really a case of terrible communication which could have been avoided.
    Spot on, well said

I also was very upset with the changes to the deep sea fishing and the new fish market and agree with many of the comments.  I even thought briefly about abandoning my farm.  I sent GGS some not very kind 'tell us what you think' messages.

But then I decided to think of it as an 'event' instead of a new game feature. I had a lot of fun building up the fleet, learning how to fish, and earning millions of farm dollars every day selling fish.  I did use a little gold to speed things along, but not very much.  With the generous fishing prices I was able to purchase the rest of the plots of land on my farms and some upgrades that I wouldn't normally have been able to do for a long time. I knew the great prices couldn't last and only kept 1000 of each fish in inventory.  (I should have made that 10!)

And now that the 'adjustments' have made deep sea fishing boring and unprofitable, I just pretend the 'event' is over and let the fleet sit and rust at the dock.  I had a great time, I have some wonderful new land, I have more farm dollars in the bank than I ever have before, and no one is forcing me to ever deep sea fish again or visit the fish market.  It was a great 'event' while it lasted; now it's over.

The real challenge of this game is not managing the farm, it's avoiding anger at GGS manipulations and lies, and continuing to enjoy my farm in spite of them.

HarvestMoooon, are you interested in buying in a few things I have for sale? I can let you have the statue of liberty for a great price !!! maybe I can interest you in purchasing the White house? oh don't be alarmed if after i cash your check the title to your purchase bounces like a rubber ball, just "pretend" it didn't happen !!!!!
    @lowme1 (US1)
Harvest Moooon is not trying to pretend that GGS didn't screw things up or that she won't miss the fun and extra income from the Dockyard.  She is simply trying to over-come this fiasco with a higher train of thought.  And she has every right to the way she chooses to react to this horrible situation.  But to call her out and poke at her is also not a solution here.  I admire her thoughts on the situation.  Some here are going to be a LOT angrier than others depending on what they invested into the dockyard, whether it be just farm dollars and time or gold and time, it will also depend on their losses, how high they built up their fleet, and whether or not they had a chance to sell off their inventory.  Please don't poke at her for sharing her thoughts on the subject.
OIC you and Harvest can have an opinion but I must stay silent with mine??? Hmmm

We just see things differently. Let’s say I save up for a month to purchase an item from a store, I pay the store daily for that item, each day when I go in to make my payment the store says for a few extra $$ you can upgrade your item to a better model and I do. Now after a month I have my item paid for and take it home. A few days later a thief breaks into my house and steals my new item. My reaction is to call the police and report the theft. And yours is to say well I enjoyed the item while I had it I’ll just “pretend” this never happened.  Just different reactions to life situations. Your reaction works for you mine works for me.

You misunderstand my point.  Nobody is telling you not to feel the way you feel or not express exactly how you feel about this horrible, drastic change.  I was simply asking you not to razz Harvest for her feelings or expressions or  her stating how she is trying to deal with this mess.  You deliberately tagged her in a post and made condescending comments directly to her.  She did not tag you or make any derogatory comments to you but you want to sell her the statue of liberty.  I simply asked that you not poke her for her opinions or her way of dealing with this mess.

In real life I am a flight nurse, I have spent most of my adult life helping people at the most critical moments of their life. I have seen it all, witnessed things that no person should have to, and sadly enough, watched people take their last breathes. Thru all of this, I have learned many basic life skills that seem to be over looked in the world we live it today. You may be asking yourself why I am going on about my life, and life experiences in an online game forum, dedicated to a farming game we all play to forget about life? The answer is simple, I'm trying to show that honesty and being direct is ALWAYS the best solution in any situation. From the moment you hear the helicopter land, and see me running up to you, be assured, the situation is critical, but I will always be honest with my answers. Why? People deserve to hear the truth, and as horrible and upsetting as it might be, you can't change the truth.

With that being said, I would like to show an example of how GGS should have addressed these new fishing changes, to both help us understand what was happening, and to show they want to work with us during them. My hope is that maybe someday they will see that honesty and being direct can change a bad situation into one that people are more willing to accept and adapt too.

"Hey fellow farmers, we hope you are enjoying the new Deep Sea Fishing adventure we brought to you last month, it sure was nice to see so many positive comments on the forum about is arrival. Since its start, farmers have been able to make some extra game cash, which has allowed them to play like they never thought they would. We have seen farms expands, co-ops thrive, and players achieve goals they once thought to be out of reach. This makes the development team happy that they were able to enhance your game experience and add a level of excitement to the game like never before.

Unfortunately, these changes we made, although brought forward with good intentions, have started to have an adverse effect on the game, and we will need to tweaked. One week from today we will introduce a new way to sell your fish, this will closely resemble the original organic market you see on your main farm. With this new market you will be able to fill contracts to sell your fish at a new, lower, adjusted price. The option to sell the fish directly thru farm management will no longer be available.

We understand that this is a big change in the game, and we will try to make the transition as easy as possible for everyone with a 7 day waiting period before we introduce it. This gives daily farmers, and weekend farmers the chance to take advantage of the boats, and liquidate all inventory before the prices change happens.

We here at GGS apologize to everyone for the direction change of the game, and hope you understand that when we introduced the new fishing, we miscalculated prices, and inadvertently took the game in a direction that not only changed the balance of this game, but changed the balance we need to keep as a business. We look forward to hearing your opinions about these changes in the forum, and ask that you keep an open mind while we work to fix our error, and bring the game back to a level that is acceptable to both the player and the company"

We all know they would never say anything like this, but if they had just been direct and honest with us from the beginning, this change would be easier for us all to accept, and players might even show a little compassion for their honesty. But instead of taking this route, they tried to spin it off as if they were doing us a favor, and had our best interests in mind, and you see how that turned out.

Bottom line, changes were made because gold sales were down, which means profits will drop. We all understand how business works, and are fine with that. You have every right to change the game to help your bottom line, its a standard business practice, but honesty to your customers should always be a standard life practice.

Ok, rant over, my fingers are numb and my dog has been standing at the back door for 20 minutes giving me the evil eye. Farm on fellow players, remember this is just a game! :)

Can we wote to get a new moderator here, if so you have my wote.
The things you wrote are the way things should have been handled to begin with.
  • I have a degree in business management from Purdue University & would be happy to fly to Germany on my own dime & conduct a series of classes in business ethics for every GGS employee.....do us all a favor & take me up on this offer PLEASE because I have never known a company that needed it more!!!
