Deep Sea region is too expensive for the tiny amount of money and bad items it gives. Please fix/re-balance it.
The mechanism you developed to reduce travel times is poorly designed, you should have done a % travel time reduction to avoid "instant travels". Instead, you just put an offset to the travel times, so it is still poorly designed.
My farm was never so slow andbuggy, instead of big farm, today we feel like playing:
- Small Farm
- Slow Farm
- Buggy Farm
I see myself getting angry over and over again with bad news, instead of enjoying the game. Very sad
I started playing this game because I liked the feature set you had.
Several features look like junk now, and Deep Sea just joined the 'junk' list. For once I got to sense some progression after I got stuck with so many dollar sinks you put in place. Still with the deep sea fisn sales it would take me quite a long time to feel stuck again. And knowing GGS, you most likely woill put more dollar sinks there.
Now with this downgrade of Deep Sea we players feel stuck once more.
In most online games we have such balancing issue at some point, and some developers just prefer some partial wipe to fix it. Please pay more attention to avoid it.
I want to state, with all due respect, that I disagree with the modifications made to deep-sea fishing.
it's pool after pool after pool of oyster, shrimp, clam - and gee all the MO i have trashed have had very little of those
It had become harder and harder to progress and became a bit "stuck in a rut" with regards to growth and further participation. With the dockyard I could do more and feel excited to log in and see my progress. I am just sad today with no desire to do much, knowing it's all back to the way it was. Minimal progress... I am a daily, several hours a day, player, and until the dockyard, I had stalled out in the progress I was making.
Many coop mates have expressed exactly the same sentiments. Several have logged out and said they need time before deciding whether they will return. These are not "whining" people who are intermittent players... they are dedicated, invested individuals who play daily and have for several years.
Please reconsider adjusting your idea of what "balanced" is supposed to look like.
GGS gets my vote for most hated company.
"...As you all know, it’s important for a complex game like Big Farm to have a balanced economy, progression and challenge to match the overall gameplay and the direct selling of deep sea fishing products would cause harm to this balance in the long run..."
In other words, we might be able to afford ridiculously high priced building upgrades without buying gold. Not a surprise you would take away this opportunity, but another disappointment just the same
One of these contracts is for 10x Tuna Chum. I notice since the update the amount of Tuna available for fishing is drastically reduced (lots more herring are available, so I assume herring won't be required much in the market).
Previously I had used Dollars to increase the size of my farm and upgrade buildings, and Gold for tokens, horses, completing missions, speeding up construction, completing the event farms and a few other things. Now I won't be purchasing Gold, as I can't keep increasing the size of my farm and buildings and participating in the event farms.
Sorry Goodgame Studios, you've lost any future Gold purchases I would have made.
I'm behind bars because i talked of other games ... edit it or you will join me !!!
oh thats probably in the rule book and ok
I've decided not to do the deep sea fishing as the contracts don't make sense to me.
1. I don't want rakes, brushes & lucky charms.
2. It is not profitable, game wise. For eg. we get 40 to 80 tuna per pool, whereas contract asks for 500+. Count the no of times we have to send the boat for 1 contract with 0 bonus. The cost, reward & time involved is not worth it.
I would advise other players to stop buying gold as one never knows when this game would take a turn for the worse. Why spend money unless a game can be played a few years. A game is supposed to be fun, not work.
Now, it's become torturous for higher level players also.
The Mermaid Bay & organic market returns are not enough for upgrading, lab, Lester, Matilda, unlocking land, temporary farms.
GGS new update!! re-balance this thread, too many complaints. This needs balancing
how are you "jailed" and for mentioning their other game ? must be as frustrating as this one then to ban you from talking or acknowledging it's existence.
and for cracking ice GGS get over yourselves - SRSLY!
let see.... How much GGS love their Loyal farmers..... lets empty their pockets then they will realized.....
LOL i have nothing to loose as i don't give much importance to this virtual life.....There is many things to do in real life...... Balls to Re-balancing......!!!
Also if you do decide the leave the game, tell GGS to delete your account. Let them be able to clearly see just exactly how many players they are loosing.
Up until yesterday I was excited about finally being able to make progress in the game and about the new fourth farm that will be coming. Now I don't care.
1 We should still be able to sell fish. GGS was wrong to remove this feature. GGS was correct that the amounts were too high. People were making insane amounts of off the fish, and some balance had left the game. That needed reigning in. You could do that buy cutting the selling prices by 70 percent and letting people choose between that and the market. In the regular market, we can sell apples there or sell them directly. You make 25 percent more if you sell them in the market, but you have the choice. I think that choice should be here. There was no logical reason to remove this, simply re-balance the pricing.
2 I absolutely hate the new fishing travel times and locations. It had taken a long time to learn the previous set-up, and changing that was totally unnecessary. There was absolutely no reason for that.
3 The prices of the crew and tackle need to be greatly reduced, given the market's prices.
4 Also, the various perks such as karma and rakes, etc., should not cut into the pricing so deeply. For example a market order might let me sell 200 fish for 3 million, and then another market order might let me sell the same 200 fish and get a rake plus 500,000. In these circumstances, you are way underwater.
5 Lastly, I had quit doing the temp (island,Viking,Candy) farms, because it sucked too many farm dollars away. The fishing allowed me to start doing them again. I am considering not doing the temp farms anymore. You should not put me in the position of not wanting to play the temp farms, because it cripples my main farm. This is ridiculous. The fishing had solved that. If, as I noted above, you had cut the prices by 70 percent, and left the fishing areas and travel times alone, there would have been enough extra income to do the temp farms and some moderate growth. In short, GGS went too far. If they truly seek balance, they will find a middle ground between what used to be and what they have done.
When we were enjoying the Deep Sea Fishing, GGS came and put an end to it without a warning.
While I know complaint is not good, but I still need to do that because it's true... so bad!!!
There is no denying that it could not and should not have stayed the way it was headed. Agreed - before long without major intervention, you would have had every player maxed out with nothing left to do, and people would have walked away through boredom.
But, what GGS have done with this fix, is blatantly steal money from players. Some of the fishing boat and equipment costs ran into millions, and with the stroke of a mouse click, there will be some players who lost everything. By not being able to sell the fish to recoup the costs, they will be far worse off than before, and any thought of upgrades will be further out of reach.
I think this is one of the reasons people are angry.
Yep, it was good while it lasted and I took full advantage of it. What we have left now is a very dull and tedious game where the financial odds are well and truly stacked against the player.
There will be people who say so what, change is change, I respect their views, equally players like myself are simply expressing our views - we didn't like this change.
Over to GGS to respond, and by respond, I mean someone with authority - not some moderator.
