It's all about the gold. Everything in this game is about the gold.
"Adjustments"....."Rebalancing"....."Tweeking"......call it what you like but the reality is that it hit GGS right in the gold pocket. So they needed to take away whatever was causing this so they could "adjust" & "rebalance" their gold sales!!!
Here's the only good part of this whole thing......we don't really need to buy their gold! I think some forget that we can play the game goldless. Yes, it requires a different strategy but the base mechanics of the game are still intact.......& NO gold is needed.
Seriously.....think about that for a minute.
You will still be able to sell the fish you catch and send oleg for but if I were you I would sell all the deep sea fishing fish. Soon you wont be able to.
They saw no reason to rebalance the lab, Mathilda's etc. They talk of things becoming stagnant, but things like The C.C. and HW, the trading floor etc. are stagnant, nothing has been done about them.
Rebalancing is a euphemism for rip off. They give us a part of the game to make us some money, most of which has gone on upgrading the boats anyway, and could be used to upgrade the very expensive lab, then they take it away. How clever, almost as clever as Pichu avoiding answering a question with a straight answer.
It may well be a step too far, and hopefully they have scored a whopping great own goal and shot themselves in the foot at the same time. With some folk leaving, others not buying gold this may be a step too far for ordinary people.
I know of two grandmothers who have taken over accounts left by their family members. They have spent money buying gold on both. There would need to be time and notice, if these people were going to have a problem.
I have not bought my nephew any gold, but he has had several accounts. I could take him off all of them tomorrow, if I had to. But I have PC's all over my house, so is no one else to farm on any of them ever? Can I not farm from both my desktop PC and my laptop? I am the leader of a large coop, so I am always checking in, from at least 3 different computers, all day long.
The terms and conditions state that a person is allowed one farm per server only.
It is not related to which PC or laptop you use, although of course your IP address comes into play.
Therefore, if your nephew plays his own farm on your computer at your home, it will appear as if you (Gavin) have 2 farms, and if they are both on the US1 server, this will be in violation of the terms and agreements and may definitely lead to problems.
If, however, his farm is on another server (say INT1 or GB1) there will be no problem should he play the farm on one of your computers, since your farm is on US1.
I predicted stuff like this 2yrs ago. Saw what was happening...and watched.
Told the coop members in the coop I was in at the time...they did not like the truth. Said I was putting their morale down.
So I left them and travelled. Many coops iv'e seen.
I knew this was coming.....i'm still screwing GGS where the sun don't shine LOL.
I don't buy gold from them anymore. I stopped around 2 yrs ago. I take gold from them now.
I expected the Deep Sea Fishing thing to change too. I knew they would also subtly alter the normal HWE. Make it difficult to get the 3 GML's without spending gold.....and they've done just that.

And the two grandmothers that I mentioned? What happens to them? These are real players. If they keep doing both, do they risk losing both of their farms?
And so, if I have 3 computers in my house, which I use all of, because of their various locations throughout the house, then I need to never let my nephew farm on any of them?
I see by the comments on the board I am not alone in m thoughts. I finally had hope that there would come a day when I could get my labs updated, Matilada's Academy and Lester's stash. Those dreams are now out the window!! I never was able to build enough cash to even touch these benefits until Deep Sea fishing. Now they take it away!!! I sold all my fish and chum. No reason to keep it to gain useless tokens. I never win gold licenses on the wheel (I have seen more than enough Pavillions) and the Shinkei Suijaku game does not have prizes worth playing.
If the game is unbalanced, (in your opinion) THEN BALANCE IT!! But do not take our option away of selling the fish apart from contracts!!!!

I know personally I have curtailed my gold purchases. It is just not worth it!! Twice I have lost gold in trying to purchase items to help me advance in the game and I never received the benefit. I sent in tickets to the help desk no response. I even got an email the asked how happy I was with the resolution of my latest problem. Told them I never did get ANY help or response. They never even responded to that!! So if GGS thinks they will get more gold from me because they take away this feature, they need to think again!!! I will stop playing before I invest more and more cash into a game that continues to exercise nothing but GREED.
I hope that there are other players that feel the same way. A dent in their pockets is the only way they will respond. Or perhaps it is as Lorelei2001 states and they are bound and determined to drive themselves into oblivion!
Do that, GGS, and you'd never again have to make these kinds of "adjustments" that alienate your players.

pleas forgive us we have stupid developers who cant calculate and have no idea about numbers. They screwed up again so we have to make a change. We also noticed that players didnt need gold anymore to upgrade the laboratory and didnt need gold anymore for other upgrades. Ofcourse we needed to change this cause our balance on the bank account need adjusment to a higher level. Since our developers cant read or listen pleas forgife us that we dont understand all your complains and so we dont know we need to adjust costs in temporary farm or laborathory. We do know we need to do some adjustments more and we thinking on buying WWC points with gold and make a head price in fukutsoho of 1,000,000 WWC points. There you al can spend much gold so we will get a better balance.

We will certainly have to recalculate the costs of sending out boats fully stocked with supplies. Not only will the cost of the supplies come out of our current dollars on hand but if the contracts are partly cash and partly items we may actually be going negative when we sell . Careful calculations are going to have to be made.
P.S. @ GGS: the term "re-balancing" can only have a meaning when you reduce cost of Matilda building, Laboratory, and Lester Stash "too". otherwise even with 100mil+ dollars per day from fishing it would still take like 2 years to upgrade them! now after tomorrow's one-sided nerf of fishing, i guess only my grandchildren idk 30 years from now maybe can see max level of those buildings.
Fully agree! Couldn't have said it any better ........ I expected from the beginning this Deep Sea Fishing feature making so quickly millions of dollars was too good to be true. So we urged ourselves to give our small farmers in our coop a fast tutorial; they enjoyed it and made great money! And we recommended all our members to sell all of their DS fish and chum when this DSF market was announced.
I myself made over 2 billion $! Thank you GGS! I enjoyed this hilarious dollar-making party although I knew it would soon end ... Thanks for this chance to take advantage of all this extra income!!
Sure, it will be a great challenge to get used to NOT making so fast so many millions of dollars again - but we knew how this BF game and it's system is supposed to work ... after all it's never supposed to be an easy peasy game, right? ... Can't say whether we'll like the market or not yet, but we sure will give it a chance... When one of us doesn't like it, he/she can just ignore this DSF feature.

I think you accidentally did the right thing with Deep Sea and I believe these "adjustments" are likely to turn that into a wrong thing. I have enough patience to wait until we actually experience the effects of these new changes, but for the first time I'm seriously considering that they might make me decide to stop playing the game altogether.

Yeah I am not surprised either, disappointed of course, but not shocked they are doing this. When they brought this out I didn't think that having an endless supply of big big money coming in was what was intended. I don't think they were expecting people to make this much money. However I will say it has been nice spending like a rich person.
Oh well, I will see what the new upgrade brings. Easy come, easy go!
