value for your money

i was wondering which of the temp island farms people think is better value for money.
personally i prefer the candy farm as the number of buildings you get on plots seems to be  better value and im not really a fan of doing the chapters,
i do the viking farm a bit but i find the buildings and decors far too large and thus  forces you to expand far faster, with the time now down to about 24 days i dont do very well on the viking farm,

i was thinking maybe the viking farm needs updating as its a bit old hat now compared to the candy farm.

I like the candy farm the best.  Don't have to worry about fertilizer and I just think it is a fun theme.  The tropical island is my second favorite, reminds me of summer vacation and it was the first one they ever had so i guess it makes me feel nostalgic as well.

  • well this picture is for Island farm, but same structure applies for viking farm i think, so if you don't wanna spend too much dollars on viking farm, you can build something like this and finish chapter 1 and 2 (not 3 though) and it should cost ~25-40mil, and will get you some enough runestones too + the 2 first event decos.

the "star marked" area is temporary area, in which you can build/destroy some temporary needed buildings for finishing certain steps.
the "bunny marked" areas are not necessary to buy but they can make it easier to finish 2 chapters (depending on how active you are, it's a choice you should make whether to buy them or not).

well hope this helps, used to have my own guide till i got pi**ed off by some ppl. still this may can help some though.

I like Tropical Island Farm best and second best the NL/Viking farms - I guess because they remind me more of realistic farms than the pinkish Candy Island. I consider this "silly pinkish circussy thing" ;) as something odd and special and would like to do it once a year at the most, just for the the diversion & fun - a bit like the Festive Farm: I love to do it, but indeed only once a year just for fun...

... and I've figured out the (hopefully) best format and kept a similar picture/map of it as @Griffith (INT1) to help me out building the island farms the best & cheapest way possible.

I am sad tho that the 30 days have been decreased to 24 days ... I consider that very much a pity!
  • I like the tropical island the best too.  Seems to be the most profitable for me although they are all super expensive

I don't like the candy farm.  I find that the base running costs (the part unaffected by happiness) of the candy factory are too high, making it a lot more expensive than the other farms.  Also, I think the decos look tacky.

Tropical and viking farms are essentially the same thing, so I like them the same.

Well, since I don't need the decos any more, and I don't care how much money I spend any more, and I'm only in it to be able to get more horseshoes from the Cap'n - I find the Viking and Tropical farms to be the most "profitable."   From them, I can get enough fruit to max out the Cap'n (and so get the most horseshoes) and still have a couple million runestones or seashells left over for next time the farm comes around.  But the Candy farm just barely gets me enough to keep the Cap'n going, only maxing him out a couple times.

I like the Tropical Island best because I seem to be able to progress at a better rate and then be able to buy the special seeds needed for boat items which gives me more horseshoes.  2nd is the Viking Island Farm...I agree about the decos being way too large making normal expansion difficult.
