Any member in Growing Friends who does some thing silly gets a used wet teabag thrown at them! ;)
An excellent policy; but in this case they are not telling us who to chuck it at  !!!!     :¬D

But there is no way to know which player started a challenge...so what happens then?

I have been informed by another co-op that has challenge other co-ops including myself & now doesn't like it that we keep challenging them to move back up that according to the forum there's a boycott going on with this village league challenge . Just want all to know that it's being put out. However, if they're challenging members then they aren't boycotting because boycott means you don't participate at all. Challenging or defending.

I suppose the Coop Leader could remove the offender's deputy status if they did not heed the warning...but of course they need to know who to warn.

We just leave it alone.  If someone starts a challenge, no harm no foul if we just keep farming normally.  We did manage to win some very low end, but useful, goodies, without having to do a thing.

I can see where starting projects, or leveling up, can cause problems, though, for those coops who are participating in the village.

Yes, we are basically doing what you are doing, but it would be nice if everyone would leave it alone or at least collaborate together on the products that need changing out in order to give us an edge of success.  But until GGS does something, the Village League is at the bottom of our priority list.

This coop league stuff is a joke and a waste of time

Rather than having something harmonious added to game GGS brought more competition, tension, frustration, hurt feelings, discord.  The every other week CC enough to make me want to scream but at least some worthwhile goodies to be had and that is about my toleration level. The game is feeling to much like work and not enough fun. Japan event has been WONDERFUL.

And in situation explained what should happen?
The other co-op finished 4 tasks first and my co-op finished the fifth task first.
    Who is the winner?
Think of it like a 5-man relay race.  It doesn't matter who wins the first 4 relays, it's the first one to cross the finish line (that is, completes all 5 tasks) that wins.  They may "win" the first 4 relays (tasks), but if you can finish all 5 before they do, you still win.

You can't just "win" the 5th task and win the challenge; you still have to COMPLETE the other 4, even if they finished them before you do.

and make sure you use enough gold to make sure the 2 other blind relay races do not finish first
  • This is prime example of making everyone accountable by showing everything on every event ect...because there will always be those who buck the system (for whatever reason) and think they just got by pulling the wool over some ones eyes....and it will not stop until all is shown for all to see.

Pranksters and just down right mean people exist and when you can't see them they seem to get meaner...this does need to be addressed  and the sooner the better.

Who doesn't want to know what is going on in their co-op, as a leader, one does and should have the right to know.....or why have a leader ??

As a coop leader you set the rules for the coop and the deputies. Why not just assign certain people to handle the duties of the Village and inform your coop that no one but those who have been assigned to set upgrades, start challenges, etc. in the Village are to touch upgrade buttons or begin a challenge, etc. Ours is set that way, we have no voting etc. works very well and we work well with our Village bosses! :)

Sounds good and until this coop village started would have thought as you  but curiosity seems to be too much for some and they just cant keep from doing things.  So while it may work someplaces it certainly does not work everywhere.  Glad to see you back JVD.

  • Hi Everyone,

A request for the start of a challenge (and who did it) to show in the coop activity log has been passed on to the team (from all the BF communities). We have also asked that they include entries for who starts CC boosters & who accepts new members to the coop. :)

Aha, I came on to ask about this problem, let us see if GGS actually do anything about. The co-ops that are actively taking part, they will not be bothered who started a challenge, but we have had a challenge started a few times and nobody owning up to it.. yesterday only 3 players were on line and a challenge started. I know none of us started the challenge. Obviously it is in the best interest of GGS to have challenges on the go, firstly to make their choice of event seem welcomed and secondly there is a big chance of gold being used to speed crops etc. Do not forget... it is not just your co-ops challenge, other co-ops will have to use more gold in their challenge just in case they are beaten in a counter challenge and lose everything ! Surely not even a brown noser could deny them facts. Once again players have requested something, will GGS do the right thing ? or will the request be the same as the gold usage safety, or names showing on that dodgy wheel of fortune. Why hide the names on the wheel ? maybe so ggs can pretend we have dropped out of the top rankings......remember players may use more gold/tokens to gain a few rankings and is not that exactly what ggs want us to do ?  o:)

Thank you WascallyWabbit for passing our concerns on to GGS...I feel certain that they will listen to you and implement as many changes as they can.

What just happened?  We were at 99.9% complete in a challenge and the challenge countdown totally disappeared...no rewards shop....no notice on the win.  Will we get credit for the win?
  • It may be a counter challenge started by other co-op.

If the other cooperative had their own challenge and they won just minutes before you, the ranking changes and your challenge will disapear without finishing.

The real problem is that permission to start the village league challenges has been given to every member of the cooperative, regardless or membership standing.

The option to start a village league challenge should be restricted to only the leader of the cooperative, not just anyone.

Given that the village league challenges really require the participation of multiple members of the cooperative to have a rat's chance in a roomful of cats, it should be the person who represents the multiplicity of the cooperative - the leader - who has authority to start them, not just anyone.

I am posting this here on the offchance that the developers are not aware that in fact anyone can launch them, at least according to what the game shows on hover -- see image:

(Image was 'photoshopped' to remove actual player name from
screenshot & replace it with a currently non-existent name.)

  • They are aware.... they had to put it there    >:)

Which makes them even more despicable.    WTG GG

    Hi,

I was just wondering does the fish go by weight or by how many is caught in one go?

    Thanks Judy
Both but works out the same. Example you go fishing for Bass manage to catch 1 it weighs 6 kg your stock of Bass now would be 6 more. If you send Oleg out in a boat to fish for you he will bring back x number of Bass depending on the boat he was sent out in.

That would be soooo much easier, leave challenge starts decisions to the coop leader.

Of course GGS knows the current setup, they were the ones that implemented it and its probably caused a lot of harm and drama in many coops.

sounds like if they changed it to co-op leaders only to start challenge then there would no question as to if there was a "bug" or not and would solve the "who started it "too.  Wouldn't the change save a lot of time and mucking around for everyone.  And perhaps if leader wanted too they could also give permission for a deputy/s of there choice to also be able too start it in case they are unavailable ??
  • I would love a button to say we dont want to participate... The amount to collect is unobtainable for us its Sunday now and on Monday we were challenged we have only completed %37.7 or challengers have only %6 none of us will make a full basket so what happens at end of week ?? non one finished or completed a basket so no awards ?? were just waiting for others to challenge us and just farming as normal from now on... why try if its impossible??
And its not just the Village Challenge...were a small co-op with low level members its already hard on players when, in a mission, some ones in first place with 7500 milk and your only level 30 and think 47 milk feels like such a pathetic amount.  It ruins the enjoyment of the game and members leave before reaching a higher competitive level. lower level players don't need to feel this way and should be able to compete against a matching level or be able to opt out until they can without feeling like they are useless to the co-op.
please big farm you are loosing players due to ridiculous expectations.
@menphus (AU1) Your challenge will continue until one coop has completed 100% (unless one of you moves rank, by winning another challenge that you are participating in). The only thing that resets at the end of the week is your medal collection.

Your low level members should not be too concerned about playing missions against higher level players. The main point of missions is to earn RP & certificates & you get more of those when playing against people that get high scores, (unless you come in last place, it is not necessary to come 1st.

its the reset when the other team looses that is hardest on lower level co-ops. so much effort put it and just when you think you could win..  its gone.. no extra medals.. no extra prizes, just gone! but we keep the position were in.
And probably not just the lower level co-ops ??
Perhaps it should be prized as a win if opponents loose and your in front ?? or at least a consolation prise would be nice for the effort put in ?? :)
  • Not a fan of it after spending 2 days on Rutabaga and Barley when I could have been earning more gold coins  and raised the value on my deco for the Japanese event by doing other things.  We won the challenge but the prizes did not seem worth it to me.
If can be frustrating when out of 60 coop members the burden of the challenge comes down to mainly 20 of the members.

But is there really a need for a skip button?  Just let the other coop win so they can move up and on.  Eventually you could fall down low enough on the list to compete and win one of the darn things without gold or popping.

I initially was all for the opt-out button.  Now, I'm not so sure we need it.  With the JGW going on, most were focused on that.  We lost both challenges but still ended up with a few bags of feed and seaweed for doing nothing.
