The adjustments to the Yarnacle event are welcome, but ignore the main problem, that of the time of arrival and departure of the boat. Here in the UK, the boat is docked during the afternoon, when most players are at work, and in the middle of the night , when most are sleeping. As the event really needs a lot of players to donate, to match the repair costs to the gifts , the event is  almost unplayable . This is annoying, as obviously a lot of effort has gone into what looks a useful addition to the village.

I agree. I will ask once more (sorry for being insistent, but I really need to know): Is there a way to change the departure hours of Yarnacle? If so, which one? If not, could this PLEASE, be fixed?

I do play in the test server so I knew this will happen and I warned my coop about Yarnacle's schedules, but yet some people didn't understand it (not everybody understands English that well) and we ended with awful schedules (when most people are sleeping or working). When I realized it was too late. So there should be a way to fix it, please.

@mia111 (GB1) if you keep the Hull repaired it will keep the boat on a 6 hour schedule, but you can't actually set the time I don't think.

I also agree with the others - the time could be a bit different on the servers :)

Thank you, CrazyBigFarm. I do know that you can extend his stay, but you cannot modify when he leaves. I know you cannot change the time, I just hope there is a way in future upgrades of the jetty (does it change in the next updates or not, that is what I wonder) or that they really implement a way to change the departure hours, since now afaik, it is impossible, unfortunately. And coops should not be punished by this. They should fix it somehow.

The main problem with Yarnacle is that if you miss one boat, like the 6AM-Noon one, due to sleep or work, then you miss the Personal Rewards of BOTH boats, every day.

For instance, let's say you donate to the 6PM-Midnight boat and get the Friendship level up to 100%.  But you have to work the next morning at 6AM.  You miss "gathering" your personal rewards. The boat leaves at Noon, with your Personal Rewards unclaimed (and now gone).  You also can't donate to the 6AM-Noon boat (because you're not there), so when the boat gets back at 6PM, when you're HOME, there are no Personal Rewards because you couldn't donate to the 6AM-Noon boat due to that pesky thing called "Work".

Therefore, for those people, why even bother donating at all? They're not going to get the rewards from it.

GGS, You need to change it so that the Personal Rewards are claimable for at least 2 dockings of the boat (or preferably, have them available every time the boat is docked until they're claimed).  That way those people that have to work can also participate in repairing the boat without having to sacrifice their personal rewards for doing so.

THIS!!!!!!!!!!! Very much this!! Completely agree!

  • Is the time linked to when we built the jetty?  If so then when we upgrade will this also change time based on when the upgrades are finished?  It would be nice to know so that we can plan the upgrade so that the new times line up better.

Knowing could also help those who have yet to build it know to time when it completes to fall at a good time.

The boat is still useless even with those changes. It costs way too much production in real farms to even get a single repair percentage on the boat, and after 6 hours it is destroyed again for 25%. And i agree with the docking of the boat that everyone says: it is pointless to add items to get the personal reward because most of the players (and perhaps all players) are not back from work/school/sleep in 6 hours.

What dumb egg has come with that idea of a new feature in the game?

Perhaps, the docking time issue with the boat could be fixed by making the cycle of travel time+dock time something less (or more) than 12 hours (ie 10 or 14) so that the boat's arrival time progresses through the hours of the day as days go by.  This would allow all coop members around the world in different time zones an equal opportunity of the boat arriving during their active game times.  Admittedly, this would be less advantageous for coops comprised of members mostly from the same (or close) time zones.

My coop has members from Europe, the Americas, Eastern Pacific, and Middle East; so an arrival time that might be good for me would not be good for some of our members.

Once again, we must remember that this is a global game and that individual tailoring is not always possible or might not be the best solution.  I do think there is room for improvement to the current system though.

Has anyone upgraded their Jetty enough levels to see if there are changes to the total travel cycle at higher levels?

Unfortunately, the arrival time of the boat is fixed, and not based on the time of the upgrade :(

I carefully scheduled the first upgrade of the boat for 7:30 AEDT, as most suitable for the range of time zones on the AU server.
However, the boat arrives at 09:00 and 21:00 AEDT.  Not ideal, but better than some of the other servers.

Honestly, I think the devs need to reconsider the whole "boat comes and goes" mechanic.  it was okay for the regular boat since he would wait until we logged in to start the countdown.  But there's no way for the co-op boat to fit the schedule for all players the way it currently is.  I would think that making it so you can donate to the boat at any time, even when it's out to sea, would make it more accessible to all players (goods can be said to be waiting at the dock for the boat to return, and the hull would need to be redesigned to be something else).  Also, maybe increasing the cycle time to 24 hours would make so players who only log in once a day to be able to help out on every boat (also, it would allow us to have enough time to produce goods that we don't have enough of and donate them in the same cycle).
  •      I am far from seeing Yarnacle, and I am thankful to those of you who are sharing the information you are finding about him (and about all of the Village Activities) and helping to fix the bugs in the Village! GGS should have made many adjustments from the test server info, but that's another subject.  I have been playing Big Farm for over 3 yrs, now and many times players on various servers have complained about GGS doing things from the CET (Central European Time-German Time-GGS Time) and how sometimes that was not "convenient" to their time zone.
I am in the USA on PST time.  I have many players in my Co-op from many different time zones in the USA and some from other countries.  We have gotten used to the game being on CET time and make conversions so we know when things are happening for our individual time zones.   I just asked Cortana on my computer how many times zones there are in the USA and she said that there are 9 standard times-I knew there were a lot of them!  So on the USA server just which one of the 9 time zones would GGS choose to "time" the game by?   There is just no way to do it and be fair to everyone in the USA and the players from other countries as well.
Here on the west coast (California), we are on Pacific time and have Daylight Savings time, some time zones do not have daylight savings time.  The East Coast is 3 hours ahead of us on the west coast, so we are constantly converting time, especially when doing business coast to coast and everywhere in between with different times zones there too, and around the world!  I also take our time zones into consideration when I schedule Co-op Projects.  I try to pick a time for starting and ending that "fits" most of our players.  And that can change as players enter and leave the game.  I usually give a PST and EST time when I announce it. Others will fill in as needed or can ask me for their zone and I will convert it for them.
CET time is 9 hours AHEAD of my USA, West Coast, California time!  So I always have to keep this in mind with starting and ending Days/Times for events.  I alert my Co-op to it too, otherwise things are over before we know it, or starting much later.  Simply put as long as we know the time zone the game is on-CET time, it is not a problem.
GGS had said long ago that they were working on having each of their servers & events set to the local times zones for that server.  But again, when an area has many times zones, such as the USA does, no one zone will be right for everyone. And I would think that it would be a nightmare for GGS to try to set each of their 32 servers at different times and adjust the times of events for all 32 servers and who knows how many events and get it right! (Geezzzz they can't even get a regular timer to work right lately! And the Hunts still have trouble with the times!) Can you imagine how much time it would take them to adjust the game events and their timing for 32 different servers!  I WOULD RATHER THAT THEY SPEND TIME FIXING THE BUGS AND PREVENTING THEM IN FUTURE EVENTS THAN ON ADJUSTING TIME ZONES!
Many players have more than one BF game going (you are allowed only 1 game on each server by GGS rules.  IMO, if I had more than one game going, I would just like all of them on the same time, otherwise it would get confusing for me, having to convert everything for each game!
I have seen GGS give out starting and ending times more and more recently for the events, in CET time.  It has been announced for forum contests too! When we get that ahead of time, it has worked well.  No problem. THANK YOU for that GGS!  They have even tweeted recently about the times Steve Screwdriver the Architect is coming and THAT IS REALLY NICE!!   (GGS WE NEED THE STEVE THE ARCHITECT TO COME MORE OFTEN!!!!)
Players have all kinds of home schedules and times that they can and do play the game.  NO ONE TIME PERIOD WILL BE RIGHT FOR EVERYONE!!  People work, sleep, get up early, or stay up plate, or play in the wee hours of the night all the time!!  THIS IS A 24 HOUR GAME!
As far as Events like Yarnacle, and adjustment in the current schedule for his ship does need to be made.If they just do that, Yarnacle could stay longer to get the repairs done, or come back at random time periods.  I have not tried it yet, so I really cannot make an educated suggestion, but it definitely needs to be designed around players who play 24 hours a day! (Steve Screwdriver the Architect comes over a 24 hours period, as does many other things in the game.)
So, IMO, the Developers should keep this game on CET time for all the servers.  They should continue to announce starting and stopping times for all events in CET time, then we can convert it to our individual time.
THE DEVELOPERS SHOULD DESIGN ALL EVENTS AROUND A 24 HOUR CLOCK BECAUSE THIS IS A 24 HOUR GAME!  DEVELOPERS SHOULD SPEND THEIR TIME PERFECTING THE GAME SO THAT WAY LESS BUGS OCCUR AND THE ONES WE HAVE GET FIXED, RATHER THAN ON TIME ZONES.
@WascallyWabbit  I'd appreciate any comment from you and other players of course and please pass this on. Thank you for all that you do for us.  I think I will post about this in the developer's tree house too and see what they say about it.  Thanks

Any news on what time the update will be run?

What will happen to the boat travel cycle when the update is run?  Will cycles restart/reset? If not (I assume they won't), what will happen to the requirements asked for by a boat that is in dock when the upgrade runs?  Will those requirements be adjusted down or will we have to wait for the next cycle to see the effect of the update?
  • Discontinue the stupid boat. Then I won't feel bad about ignoring it. It's a bad idea and no amount of band-aids can fix it.

So if I understand this right, we are "fixing" the boat and ignoring the game lag and crashes but expected to compete in another cooperative challenge with a defective game and no fix in sight? The fishing glitches have never been fixed so why would anything else get fixed?

so what happened to the fix??????
  • My server was said to shut down  I left  and just logged back on to find another pop up that it will shut down again in 10 minutes. This camping event is going to go slower than normal at this rate

Patience ..... it was obviously postponed a bit, but now the timer is running again and the update will be in about 10 minutes.  :) I rather wait 10 minutes more than to get things buggy again, right?
  • timer has gone again
  • When special event(Golden week event) is running, I do not want any update.

I found on of the bugs they introduced.

Edit: Or is it updated to show distance between levels? Reducing memory storage and improving game speed.

A new horse season is coming and here’s a small sneak preview:

We will post more details before it starts.

What is wrong with this picture & quote  ????

    a)  these are not horses

Well it seems to me those are the avatars that you can win in this seasons upcoming racing season.  Everything looks fine to me so D. everything as it should be.
  • I have had a couple less than desirable dealing with the Adventurer.  I have given him every edge crop, nail, rope and resin that I had to fix his boat.  In addition I gave him bakery goods, dishes from the Mermaid Bay, and flowers.  When he came back he had either nothing for me or nearly worthless items.  I believe everyone in my Coop has stopped contributing.

I completely agree. That's how I feel about the village league challenge as well. There is no point in actually trying (with gold, sw, special seeds etc) as the reward at the end is so small. Even getting 80k medals for it is not worth what would be needed to win. Such a disappointment. More effort than value of return. A failure all the way around so far. I know I wont expect anyone in the coop I am in to contribute to the jetty, or to go above normal harvesting for the league. It's like working an 8 hour day, to be rewarded at the end with a bottle of water instead of a paycheck.
