Regarding items "for sale" by Traders, etc. etc.

Good ol' Omar is in town again, and peddling his wares.  He is currently offering 4 tokens for 999 gold, at a supposed savings of 30%.  At this time I would like to offer a direct quote when researching tokens in my Equipment section:  "You can get these in the wheel of fortune event.  There is also a very low chance that they can be found in fields during the event."  My question should now be very obvious; how can there be a 30% discount on anything either won on a spinning wheel or found in the dirt of a farm?!?!?  I await an intelligent answer with bated breath...

Tokens are sold for 360 gold each in the WoF Event.

    360 * 4 = 1,440 gold

    999/1440 = 30.6% savings.

Just because you can find them "for free" doesn't mean they don't have a value. :)

they put a standard price for these things "360 gold for a token"
and then they put discounts on it to make the players who have gold to buy more and more

its not about logic , its about marketing

Because of the gold business, in a recent update, they put winning tokens from wheel of fortune before the chance found in fields and added the words very low to encourage buying tokens for a chance to win more tokens and discourage the use of fields for free tokens.  Before the update, it said that it can be found in fields, did not say the words "very low chance" and said it can be used in the wheel of fortune, not won from.
  • Thanks to Southern, 7okkoo and dchen1 for their clarifications.  I do now see where one can buy tokens for the WoF event (obviously not a high priority for me...).

Now THIS, on the other hand, makes no sense.

Full price on Tokens is 360gold each.

That would make 85 of them worth 30,600 gold. At full price.

WHERE are they getting the 51,200 gold value from? That would make these tokens worth 602.35 gold each.

Maybe it's Metric Gold.  How much is that converted into Imperial? :)
