    Unlikely.  Traditionally, only building the first level of a machine has required a significant number of tools.  All other upgrade levels only required single digit number of tools to upgrade.

    Exactly right.  That was the case with the old ones.  Can someone please confirm if this is still the case when they get to level 2 of one of the new machines?

    I cannot log in now. I cleared my cache. I've tried both log in areas. I get check marks next to my name and my password, but when I click PLAY, I am told my username is not valid. I have now also cleared my flash cache. I also tried Chrome's Incognito and Internet Explorer with no luck.

    There is a pretty colossal <Removed> going on, can't log in on International or Scandinavian servers. Doesn't matter how I login, from which browser and cache cleared.
    Please don't tell me this will go unnoticed just because it doesn't affect everyone, the Hard Worker event is also going on right now. I might even get kicked from my co-ops if it takes as long to fix this as it takes to fix other bugs. : (

    Yep - to my despair same thing is being reported on the Dutch thread: players on NL1 can't log in anymore (they get the same text: "name not valid") ...

    Just FYI - hopefully things can be solved fast! THX!

    I can login on NL1, but 3/4 of my coop can't.  I sometimes play for other players (don't ask) in my coop and I can't login with a single one of them, So it is not a flash problem (or is that not what you meant?)

    And since it is evening in Germany, i;m afraid this problem is not going to be solved tonight

  • The problem is affecting various players from all the different servers and there is a developer busy looking in to it at this very moment, even though it is after hours ;)

    I was privately advised to clear my Flash cache. Then, my husband suggested checking that I have the latest version of Flash, and I do. I was just trying to get ahead of any further suggestions for what to try.

    You make that sound like you are doing us a favor "after hours", not a favor, It is what they should be doing.,

    I really do not see the point on keep on doing updates at the end of the CET working day knowing that GGS offices will be closed and reopens only at 9:00 am the next day. Even if we flood technical support with complaints they wont be attended until then.
    Wasn't it better to do the updates while is there someone to take care of those complaints and fix this sort of bugs in due time?

  • Please try to log in again, if you haven't yet tried.  We believe the problem is now fixed.
  • I'm experiencing something weird. After the update was finished I logged in with the new system, without any difficulties, but when I logged in with another computer the log in screen is the old one. Shouldn't it be the same for all computers? Apart from that I'm happy with the update, though I feel really sorry for those who cannot log in.

    Could we have the fireworks for several days?  This would boost tools for a brief period, to help people get going.

    I'm only really interested in Hovercraft machine which increases fishing XP, but 120 tools to build it? Come on.

    Unless you guys come up with some way to increase the drop rate for tools (other than expecting me to buy them with gold), by the time I find that many tools I might not even need the machine any longer. Oleg is much more productive at fishing for XP than I've ever been with gathering tools.

    I'm only really interested in Hovercraft machine which increases fishing XP, but 120 tools to build it? Come on.

    Unless you guys come up with some way to increase the drop rate for tools (other than expecting me to buy them with gold), by the time I find that many tools I might not even need the machine any longer. Oleg is much more productive at fishing for XP than I've ever been with gathering tools. 

    Full Silo gives around 10 tools per day. (Average of 5 per harvest of 500 fertilizer).  Full Composter gives 2-3 tools per harvest of 24 humus.  That's ~16 tools per day just from 2 buildings.  Chickens/Quick Cow/Quick Pig is good for another 2-3 tools per hour (depending on how many stables you have, of course).

    It really doesn't take that long. I'm already up to 110 (Was maxxed at 100 before the patch, of course - I was ready) :)

    So it might take a day or two.  I'm in it for the long haul. :)

    One long-term answer to the tool shortage could be to allow them to drop from Gourmet farm animals, such as ducks, goats, and donkeys.

    At lower levels, the drop rate is much lower, unfortunately.

    I agree that larger farms will be okay.  I can probably build them all in about 2 months.  I worry about the mid-sized farms.  I deal with a lot of mid-sized farms (for example levels 70-130), where they don't yet have the advantages of level 200-300 farms and get frustrated with the very slow pace of the game for them.  I have seen quite a few of them give up and leave the game.  It is this demographic of farmer that I am the most concerned about.  There are more of them, and we need them to be seeing (and feeling) progress.  (This is the same reason that has driven my concern over the fishing xp pace).


    Also for followers of the forum, there has always been an emphasis on re-balancing by GGS, in order to keep the balance of the game.  Following through on that would logically imply that we need to see a 50-100 percent increase in tools.......which is why I suggest an adjustment to the drop rates.
