SUGGESTION: More varied items in contracts

Why does virtually every one of my 6 contracts require a ridiculous amount of pigs, most around the 50,000 realm? Even after I complete a contract, the next one invariably also requires pigs. I only have 5 pig pens level 7 which is all I really want. How many am I supposed to have?

My suggestion is that, when a new contract is calculated, it takes into account what is required in current contracts, and lowers the chance of repeated requirements. eg: If there are already contracts asking for pigs, the next contract with have less likelihood of also asking for pigs. The more current contracts there are with a specific requirement, the less chance of getting a new one with that requirement.

It would also be good to see rutabaga and alfalfa thrown into the mix too.

For me rusty the answer is I decline them  while initially I did not want to be declining it just gets ridiculous as you pointed out so I keep no more than two pig contracts at one time problem solved. The contract do seem to go in waves of pigs, milk  apples and almonds I have noticed.

I don't think would be a good idea.  While this idea would benefit players who have no bias/preference towards or against any particular item, it would harm players who do.  For example, I like apple contracts, so I try to have at least 2 of those contracts all the time, so once I finish the 1st I can immediately start on the 2nd.  This idea would make it harder for me to get the contracts I want, since it would keep detecting my apple contract and lower my odds of getting another.

Conversely, I don't like corn contracts, so I tend to reject those when they come up.  Under your suggestion, the game would detect that I have no corn contracts, and assign no penalty to it, effectively increasing my odds off getting corn (since anything I do have would have a lowered chance).

Therefore, your suggestion would effectively decrease the odds of getting contracts I want, and increase the odds of getting contracts I don't, which is why I don't think this is a good idea.

I never thought of that. I think I'll just be more active in declining contracts in future. As it is, the pig contracts I have will probably take months to finish.

or mabe you both could have it your way and make it so it does not give out a high number like if you have a contract already for 29k pigs it does not give you one for 25k and 36k and yes i have all 3 of those now i do not decline contracts unless they are o but anyways so lets say i just had the one for 29k and it wanted to give me another pig it would just it would make it like 5k instead of 25k so even if it was a smaller order would that work for both of you cause i would love that idea i hate having 3 of them as high as they are but i like haveing pig contracts same with apples so i get more for them sense i make a lot just not that much i think i have 4 pig pens i think they are like level 5 to 8
  • the issue of contracts has also been troubling me lately and I thought my problem was that I am still in the low levels of the game. If I decline a contract with an amount that I can not supply e.g lamb lettuce because my fields are still at level 2 , it is replaced by another requiring large amounts barley, or almonds. Most contracts require large amounts of products I require as inputs, milk apples cherries, honey wax ..... supplying such contracts usually means I have to suspend activities in the bakery. Why can't we get more contracts requiring more of final products from the flower and gourmet farms that those requiring products needed as inputs. I usually have a barn full of  pasta basket and other flower bouquets but rarely get contracts requesting for these and when I do it requires only a quarter or less of what is in stock.

As well as alfalfa and rutabaga, I wouldn't mind seeing fish and fish recipes requested in contracts too.
