  • Think it through, if they don't fix it and it keep going this way:

    event day 1 (21/01)= 12am till 5am
    event day 2 (21/01)= 5am till 12am
    event day 3 (22/01)= 12am till 5am
    event day 4 (22/01)= 5am till 12am

so... 1 day of event you have 5 hours, in the other you have 19 hours but never 1 day of event is 24 hours... probably they won't fix it as they didn't at the christmas event... like 2 days for 1... i'm bug...

My boosters are $1,000,000 too and they only last for 12 harvests, so I shoulda harvested better things first doh!! ..... But fireworks rule! I got all the activity rewards for today and a cute pagoda deco, woohoo!! Image result for smiley jazz hands
Glad you made it. It got reset at Midnight EST on US1, so we're now on "Day 2" of the activity challenge. Day 1 rewards are gone. Gave us our usual 6 hours to finish Day 1. We'll no doubt get a 42 Hour "Day 15".

Sucks for those that wanted the Pagoda though.
Really tired of the short day on US for events, especially when there is a timer running on this one that matches the timer on my AU farm.  I thought wonderful things are going to run correctly on US this time, but no.  I was almost done with all 20 hard work rewards when it changed to day to.  The timer is still matching the AU server so who know how much time we really have.  Why bother doing the events at all if we miss out on the prizes

@monica1230 (US1) Like the Hunting events the first day is always short by about 18 hours. They do add most of that time on the end of the event which most times is when most players need it the most.
After a few years you will get use to it. We can only hope they can figure out a way to have all the servers start at the same time, like at midnight of the starting day & run the full 24 hours before changing over to the next day.

Ok I see there is a timer problem again.

It is 11:30am EST where i am and my clock for day 2 says I have 6 hours left. Is that right or is that off?

Will day 3 start at 6pm EST or midnight like day 2 did?
  • This stinks!  Another bombed event.  Forget it.  It looks like I will now have plenty of time to do other things.

So one thing is easier and that is size reduction zodiacs. They were the most demanding last year, this year they are near the middle of the field. And that's exactly what we asked for so that people may have more decent chance to end up with 5x5 or at least 6x6 usable deco. There seems to be 6 signs easier then dog and pig, one as difficult as pig and 3 other more difficult then dog and pig so size reduction would come at positions 7 to 9 (just an estimate from what the things look like after half a day of playing and it will get more precise as we go). I'm guessing that they just shuffled the difficulty levels around so that amount formerly ascribed to dog and pig are now with different signs which "only" give happiness to make more crucial size reduction easier to obtain.

Well, I'm really really pleased to see this little sign of GGS finally listening to players on things that matter. I have to say wholeharted "well done" for this bit. :) That's spells "hope for future" in my mind. :) Keep going this way you BF people. :)

We don't often see eye to eye, Kamilcom,  o:)  but when you're right, you're right :)  And you're right about this ;)

Last year I managed to complete all the signs bar one (pig or dog, can't remember) but that was a big disappointment because the smaller size was a very desirable trait of the deco.
And it was a battle to get to that point, I remember this clearly.

Only managed to catch 1 fireworks session today but it was enough to finish all 20 daily rewards in one go. The rest of the day my farm had been largely inactive, waiting for the elusive fireworks.

Now, I haven't done any math about the event but can clearly see that things are progressing well at the end of the 1st day, definitely better than last year (when I even used a number of cash boosters every day - haven't used a single booster today).

Let's give credit where credit is due ... thanks, "you BF people"  :D

The first day is or was only 6 hours long. The rest of the days will be the full 24 hours except the last day which will get most of the 18 hours added to the end :)

Anybody else experiencing the Zodiac chips not counting towards your round? I'll recover about 150  and the counter for the next prize will move down about 1-3. On Monday i'm contacting the Better Business Bureau. Done investing in something that doesn't make things right.

Only Rat chips count right now.

Thank you for that post as my game dose not say Collect Rat zodic chips under the day 2.

I had figured it was yet an other bug of stuff not registering but thanks to you I know that the bug is mine game dose not tell what is needed.

Ok so will my day 3 start at midnight or 6pm. If I go by the clock it will be 6pm, but if I go by 24 hours it will be midnight.

I am sorry but I am very confused

This time zone thing has many confused. I'll try to explain it, when the event first started it was Jan 20th 6 pm EST. At midnight EST it changed over to day 2 and will run the full 24 hours ending at midnight EST. This will continue until the last day where they will add most of the 18 hours we missed on the first day to the event.
  • Regardless about adding time to the end of the game, it is my opinion that once again this event is unfair to most.  I logged on expecting that I would get to finish day 1 prizes (since we now had a timer going).  Surprise!  we lost day 1 and probably day 2 prizes.  Decided to quit playing this event as I have others.  GGS needs to make this right
  • Qat (US1)Qat (US1) US1 Posts: 46
Ok, I have a question why is day 1 less than 24 hours. The event started about 5pm CST but at 10am the next morning I'm already into day 2 and the 'activity/rewards' started over but yet I'm still working on Rats.

  • @monica1230 (US1) Like the Hunting events the first day is always short by about 18 hours. They do add most of that time on the end of the event which most times is when most players need it the most.

I know I have been playing for yrs but there is a 24 hr clock on this event near the bottom in addition to the day counter at the top.  The 24 hr clock is what fooled me into thinking they had fixed things.  Silly me thinking that it was counting down accurately.  The US server is the biggest server player wise is what we keep hearing but yet it is the server that gets the events messed up.  It would have been better to leave off the 24 hr timer or send a server message or put it in the pop up newspaper.  New players to the game have no clue, normally we warn them in the coop how events work.  But since the timer said 24 hrs on both servers it seemed safe.

So yes I know I am beating a dead horse on this but are we to just stop commenting when it happens over and over?  Just accept that we will miss the full first day of hard work prizes if we are offline for work or school or if we happen to get on for an hr  use gold to speed things along every yr for this event.
  • Data King (US1)Data King (US1) US1 Posts: 7,994
You are right @monica1230 (US1) it is not fair and no we should keep reporting about these events and they never seem to give us a full first day.
Maybe one year, hopefully sooner  :D They will be able to figure a way to have the these type of events to run with the first day being a full 24 hours not the usual 6 that we get now.
  • Sukiyaki (US1)Sukiyaki (US1) US1 Posts: 555

Why did day 1 end with 18 hours to go? why is day 2 less than 24 hours? Wouldn't it have made a whole lot more sense to make day 1 = 24 hours instead of making day 1 + day 2 = 24 hours????????

    SERIOUSLY??!?

This still doesn't help getting day 1 rewards completed when you just add on a random 18 hours at the end and the day 1 reward list doesn't reappear on the last day of event. it also still makes day 2 less than 24 hours. not buying this excuse.
  • Sukiyaki (US1)Sukiyaki (US1) US1 Posts: 555
They had a whole year to fix this event.
  • I am with you on this one Sukiyaki.  There is no justification for this.  No day 1 prizes complete and I predict Day 2 will be screwed too.
  • Are the different time allowances for Day 1 so the event will end at the same moment across the globe?

I read a post complaining about the events starting at midnight CET because the player wouldn't begin the event until the following morning. I thought that was a reasonable consideration until I returned from a three hour break at 11:00 pm PST to find myself on DAY 2.  Really? Just six hours for Day 1?

If GGS thinks it is equitable for one time zone to be allowed to choose not to play, whereas others are denied hours to play, they are sadly mistaken.  What's the deal? Why not just be up-front with us?

I'm beginning to think these quirks are purposefully designed into the game, and I just haven't caught on yet!

Btw: we need 6,7 % completion for a sign daily (24 hours) to make it to 100 % on the last day. You can check yourself against this value using time played to evaluate your chances on each sign and to possibly adjust strategy to serve your goals.

The size reduction zodiacs may be easier but they increased difficulty on 3 animal zodiacs. Full completion is almost impossible now due to the price of the boosters.

Even without boosters is possible, just keep your cherry, silo, mill cows etc and harvest them only when fireworks appear. Its annoying to have to wait and keep an eye ,but the reward is worth a little effort.

This is without a single booster, and only 3 fireworks caught, and of course some playing in between. And its not even a 24 hours. Its alot easier then the last year and definitely possible. Dont give up on event just because looks a little hard on start, you can do it guys!

edit:planting sunflowers for the night and harvest them on fireworks also helps alot

Wow! @Tigrain (BG1) ! I'm impressed. :) Looks like you're on the run. :) I was waiting for fireworks for 2 hours in the morning and then gave up. What you call a "little effort" i calll a "spoiled day". :) I have better things to do then sit in front of the game screen all day watching and waiting for a few minutes booster so this "magic" will not work for me I guess. :) unless i'm extremelly lucky to come to the game at the right time. But your progress really surprised me. Didn't think it could be so easy for those willing to do "starng" job. :)

Last year, the Fire Monkey without the Dog and Pig completed gave a 7x7 decoration with 145 happiness, a happiness density of 2.96

This year, the Fire Rooster without Dragon and Snake will give a 5x5 decoration with 92 happiness, a happiness density of 3.68

It is an improvement, but I win better decorations in the weekly themed events without anywhere near as much effort :(

Why aren't most of the new year event pictures registering I have collected corn for the last 2 hours and every field would spit out a picture but I am stuck at 58 to get the next prize.  Why is this happening?
  • gizmo22 (AU1)gizmo22 (AU1) AU1 Posts: 1,720
Last years event was nowhere near as difficult as it is now. Sure the dog and pig chips were hard but the wheel spins were affordable and I eventually ended up with a firemonkey decoration 5 by 5 with a happiness value of around 150. So its easier to get a smaller decoration now but whats the point when you will struggle to get it above happiness value 100. The swimming pool decoration is 118 for minimal effort.

Each day a certain zodiac chip will only count toward that

Last year i'd estimate I spent around 20 to 40 million farm dollars achieving full completion. Spinning the wheel using farm dollars more often than not gave you the wrong chip so it took multiple spins just to get the dog or pig slots. For me personally it was worth it because while it was expensive the booster was well priced. This seasons cost at 1 million per spin is comical, definetely not willing to spin for that price.
