Suggestion: Personal Intro

I'd like to be able to put up some kind of personal introduction on my profile, particularly when looking to join a Coop.

I realize you can do this when you apply, but it gets a bit tiring to keep retyping the same things and it would be nice to have a little area where you can tell others about yourself. I've noticed that some use Coop descriptions for that, which makes it more about them than the Coop.

  • a trick I used was to open a notebook page and type up what you wanna say then save in a convienient spot ... then when you need it just bring it up ..click and paste ...

Yep - I do exactly the same. I have a Word Document hanging underneath the screen and all the texts I want to keep, I copy & paste to that document, so that I don't have to type it over and over again.

  • I use NoteTab Lite for stuff like that and it's a good idea, but the main reason I suggested it isn't because I don't want to keep typing things. I don't plan on Coop hopping that much, I just had a bad experience where it seemed the leader of the previous Coop's description was a bit egocentric and she didn't seem to care that her Coop was taking more than it was giving to the members in ways that weren't even helping the Coop itself.

But now I'm in a Coop that is much better, so I'm happy to just move on now.
  • How about the requirerment to send a message to co-op you are looking to join, even if sent an invite from that co-op. If deputy or leader agrees with your message, and you sound like a active member your in, or if not they send a return message stating how you don't fit requirements,or something to that effect and ask you to apply again later.

In our Co-op description we have asked those applying to send a brief msg stating how they think they would be a good fit for the Co-op, this seems to work for us :)
