Why such high amounts required

  • After putting up the post i did notice a few things, yes some of us need to build bigger, upgrade. Yet it is not easy when you do not live on the "farm" , farm cash is only a few million, and the aleo vera gel, i believe if i upgrade the building, the time comes down by half. instead of doing 1 harvest at a time I could put in all 4 at once If I had enough aleo vera, if my storage is high enough. Do not forget our farms in being built up, just because GGS allows thing from ? level 5, it does not mean you can upgrade building to level 7 -8 straight away. My old man just said that he needs 61,000 apples, i suppose he could harvest that many in 4 days but I might have to do without any food or xmas presents, how can he go shopping when he has to harvest so many apples ?  :) I do love the image above, 2,564,899 pigs .... for 1 happiness point. I think many players have commented that the fun has gone out of big farm, and why ? greed that is the reason, rather than ask us to harvest reasonable amounts, they make it almost impossible, they push us to use gold. The thing what GGS forget is that they are also pushing players away, we are not bothing much about the co-op challenge, it'll be back in 3 weeks, we not bothering with the bonus bits, not too bothered with weekly event. If the amounts were amounts we could get without living 24 hours a day on the game, we might use some gold, but as it is using gold will still mean a struggle, Big Farm is a game, it should be fun, log on when bored or fancy an hour playing or chatting to our farm friends, it should not mean spend £40 to buy and use gold because you went to work, or shopping.  GGS know everything that players do within the game, they know what level the building are, they know what is in storage, the ship, missions and prob santa's list is picked by what you have or do not have, aleo vera twice in a row ! logic tells you that stocks will be low, possibly the other "crops" from the distillary were full, and of course GGS will not want to give you them. Merry Christmas farmers, get a good rest because when the New Year bugs arrive ......... o:)

so the architect comes creeping.......your very last dime to take!!
You're sitting on stables full o'dung.....just waitin' on your chance..

Easy answer......GOLD! Have u noticed the amount of seaweed offers since this event began? The high amounts required for the wishlist is just another ploy by GGS to get us to buy and spend gold. For non-gold buyers they hope that the peer pressure of an event like this will force players to use up their stockpiled gold and seaweed in the hope that they may start to buy gold. There are no accidental calculations here.....everything GGS does is deliberate.
My answer to that is simply I give up on these events and find something else to do.   Two of my three coops I can't even help anyone else because I first have to fill one chapter.  I can't even do that!

Also other events.  There was a time, even if it meant getting up all night long, but I could get the highest prize.  Might have to pay a few HUNDRED in gold, but I could get it.
Now?  I'm lucky if I can get second to the BOTTOM of the prizes.   I don't even care anymore.

And the island…. gees that's a total waste of money all together.  The ONLY reason to even bother is just to get seeds to the stupid ship doesn't have to stay parked so long.  But my strategy now is just make it to the second chapter, pretty easy, and give up on getting past that.  Just feed, harvest, plant…. repeat.
I'll NEVER SEE the highest level stuff at all.   I have tried too.  Bankrupted a few farms attempting to just make it to the last levels.    Forget it.

GG… if you have to spend gold, it's not a prize.   What good is a game if you have to buy your trophy in the end?   Takes ALL the fun out of it.

They are good at selling nothing for a lot of money :):):) I've never understood "players" who buy this game instead of playing it. From gamer's point of view the financing model is completely corrupt and detestable.

I know.  I get into one of those missions and think I'm doing ok, then suddenly someone has like 10X what I have so I go look and OMG.   60 chicken coops?  20 fully upgraded cow sheds?  Ducks filling half the farm? All fully upgraded blue houses?   It took me nearly a year to save up enough to upgrade the dog house to the blue one.  Then GG added a bunch more levels… phoey!

With all the events and stuff running now, I don't stand a chance of getting half way through any of them.
I didn't even log in this morning.  What's the point?   Half the members in my coops are in the red and have been for many weeks.  Only reason they aren't booted is because they are signed up for research which takes FOREVER to fill.

No, GG is rapidly taking all the fun out of this.   Everything is so out of reach, it's just not fun anymore.

There has to be some better games out there.  I haven't really looked in a long time.  Might need to start.
  • yes 1 day left and my coop got just finished the one started 8 days  ago! 4.8 million pigs before and now we have this ridiculous order to do.

Buying the apples is hardly an option here... Will the deco girl be available to upgrade the village decos as well?  because i've just decided not to do any personal quests and just wait for the deco chick... much less gold and much easier.

Oh I'm sure Greta will be able to help boost those deco up for you all right ka-ching ka-ching
expect to have to pay more to get the village happiness part up ;)

I agree about the buying the game instead of playing it. There are some players who play hard and use gold, i can understand that it gives you the edge on your hard work. There are some that log in and simply buy gold, do a few little things, rise up the rankings and log out, thus making GGS happy. These players do not know how to play the game, they do not think which crop to grow first, its just use gold , gold gold . For the first few years we had the top player, he worked hard, and used some gold, to get to number one but now with buy this, buy that , double xp, xp rewards etc a new player can be level 200 within weeks, is that player better than someone who has played for years -- plays the game, not just buys their way.
Nice little song sophia.. i like it  o:)   o:)

By the way,  I leave cookies and milk for santa.   NOT GOLD!

    Merry Christmas everyone.   And GG?
You really need to get scrooge out of your work shops.  HUMBUG on all your greed.
  • @bikeboy (GB1)  I couldn't agree with you more.  Fortunately I started stockpiling 2 months before the event started trying to be one step ahead, if the same event was run again.  Even with stockpiling, so 6600 of everything, less whatever was used to help fill other members who requested help, I've had unreasonable requests.  In Chapter 2, the Aloe Vera Gel requested was 1989, which I had on hand, so easy to donate.  Then I got 4032 Wet Pig Feed, another easy to accommodate and restock.  Then 5031 Aloe Vera Gel, really?  The same item?  It was doable, again from stock plus one batch.  But each full batch takes 15 hours to produce, so running this non-stop to restock.  Then came 5038 Cow Feed.  We all know the length of time on wheat and the enormous amount of time to then convert to feed, and though I had it, I wasn't willing to part with it, lol.  So I guess I'm saying I agree, the amounts are outlandish, some duplications that border on ridiculous, all for the purpose of getting us to use gold to push it through.  Well, I'd rather do without that precious 1 point of Happiness, probably cost me under a thousand to upgrade and retrieve that point from the Landscape Artist.  It's just too bad we won't be able to do the same for the Village Happiness.  Now some of the Coop Bonus Quest amounts are so laughable, we look, we laugh, and then we ignore.
From what I am reading you managed to use your stock piled items on your SWL to do your personal list?  Thought it was only possible to do it when assisting Coop members and on the part when you are finished doing your personal list!  On this event that I am experiencing the event only takes what is harvested after the timer for the new chapter starts.  So where is the donate button and who do I have to kill to get one?
  • @FunnyWalker22 (US1) I think she was referring to donating to the personal quests, in the bonus round for each chapter.

and Another ....... hey  what did we get off GGS this Christmas ?

I do love how a minute after starting the building of a gold house, I get a discount to buy a gold house,  what is so funny is the amount to skip the build is much more than the discount you'll get on the next one.
Yep GGS knows everything , except the deco you just lost, they'll ask for a screen shot showing the lost deco ! ! is the landscaper just so that they can say a missing deco has been demolished !

Well they gave us the cow skating deco for xmas free @Bikeboy they didnt have to and what I thought looked cute not really a big fan of but they did give out something  Gratitude
  • Wow Damaria, GGS design yet another deco and say its a gift..... 1,000 gold would be nice so we could buy something . What would it cost GGS to give us the lovely cow skating deco, which ive not seen, the fact is GGS will probably earn from this deco... you might end up with less happiness, or need to buy more land. THEN those who did not get it will be able to buy it for 100,000 gold. So still I say they giving us nothing of any worth. o:)

Guys talking about gratitude towards GGS, company which wast majority of times rips us off (or at least tries to if you are not smart enough) and shows disrespect towards us is a bit misplaced here. One needs to see the whole picture. A bit brutal example, but the same principle: You don't show gratitude to a warlord gang who burned your vilage down when they "graciously" give you a loaf of bread once a month while ruling over you with iron fist. Not willingly anyway, out of fear maybe. Get your values straight yourself before you start giving moral lectures. :) I may not agree with whatever complaint bikeboy fires (although agree with the point he's trying to make) but your moralising at this point is truly ridiculous. .:) Try to get beyond wording and form to the core idea. Peace
  • All I know, is no use even thinking about doing any more of Satan's wish list

Yes, the spirit of Christmas seems to be lost with "Satan's wish list".

    Dear ones,
I know I am about to burst your bubble.  Good Games Studio doesn't give anything.  Everything one acquires on ones farm you do what is necessary to acquire.  You worked to do your list, you worked to help members in your coop, you worked to get the coop quest finished as well as the personal quest and each time an individual decided that perhaps they could try it and didn't the process started over again. and put you back at not exactly zero until all the coop members or the few that were determined pitched in and finished  that individual or individuals list.  With the new thing "Santa's workshop" You have to give your items to get one of their items in which you have no choice in the choosing of.  When you give something you are not looking for pay back.  Good Games Studio expects you to use the items you have acquired during the playing of their game to get rewards for playing their games that you didn't pay for with your cash or your gold it's items that you have stocked piled and if you notice the items are what is needed to run your farm, items from the nursery, items from the lab with the promise you will"get the decorations you have always wanted"  What a crock, but you can always spin the wheel using gold of course to acquire something that you might actually want.  As to Rudolph it was supposed to be find him and get a reward however their hand was out there as well donate this or that.and receive small amount of something.  As to the reward at the end you need to upgrade so it actually is worth something, but I am thankful for the small favors bestowed on me from GGS but I haven't seen yet where it has given anything.  In everything you do here you have to give something to get something that's life. The only generosity of spirit I have seen is from the coop members helping each other as much as they can. This is no different then your job or social security.  You worked  then you retired you get a stipend.  When you work you get a salary or a wage.  Our job as as I see it is to work as ggs dictates and accept the things it chooses to bestow on us at a cost to us who play their game.  So since I wasn't given anything, I and my fellow coop members worked to meet deadlines and quota to receive the payment ggs decided I deserve, not for the labor, cause hey clicking on a mouse is hardly hard work but for the hours involved, and  because as I understand it when you give something without thought of getting something in return.  Nothing was given everything was earned and I gotta tell you that the wage and the reward for it during Santa's workshop and Santas' Wish List wasn't worth it, but I am grateful :)

It's usually a challenge to respond to a post which is more emotonal then rational in a way which stays true to sound principles without "offending" anyone. :)
The immediate reason for my post was to express support to bikeboy in the point he was trying to make and also to express my disagreement with your moralising. :)
Now if you feel so strongly about manners and selfishness as you seem to suggest, why don't we see you equally indignant over obvious flaws in GGS business practices, which many recognise as the source of most of the mess in the game and which could  equally well be described by emphasised phrase? And that for sure is not the only "manners" issue which you seem to be overlooking graciously. :)
Btw I did state it was an example and a brutal one. It's pointing to principle to make it clearer, not saying it's the same in scope, level, or seriousness of social threat. :)

Peace to all good gamers. :)

Moralizing and good manners two different issues, so you saying I was moralizing him totally without merit. Yes I was introducing him to have good manners. Which many people seem not to have been taught in the home,.  I  have been very vocal about certain issues with GGS  one is the CC  another was what they did a kind of bait and switch with last years  Santa list in that end deco,  the fact that they roll out live before truly fixing the bugs  yes they are guilty of alot and dont get me started about taking the goldflowers and mining licenses out  which they are now offering us mystery boxes  which are only half as pleasing to me but it was a start. When they do good I tell them when they get too greedy I tell them. By the way I did not do Santa wish list last year read it started it but quickly realized it was not something my coop at that time would want to do. I made an honest assessment and acted accordingly.  Which it seems leaders needed to do but failed to do in some instances here. Truly seemed to me if you had team spirit it could be done by all. Any case even though I was not personally affected I did address GGS  behavior.

@Funny Walker22 I agree with alot of what you said but still disagree the deco cow is a gift they did not have to give a deco but did.  Yes I am paying dearly for decos at the toy store no doubt about that at all at terribly inflated prices

Yes, that's exactly what I am saying. :) Unfounded moralising. :) Only becouse you think something is a gift while bikeboy choses to see behind fancy front and rather view that "gift" in broader context doesn't mean he has no manners. On top of that I doubt you have any idea what bikeboy was or wasn't tought at home and trying to attack his family provides zero moral or factual support for your case. Now let me stop here or we get eaten by foxes and wabbits. :)

    Peace. :)

I think and hope that you will understand that in my opinion it was a pacifier.  However it was better then nothing or a kick in the teeth.  It's like you have this kid that is starving and you give it a sugar breast to keep it content.  That is what the cow thing was.  I think we deserve better then that.  Especially people that have been playing the game for years, as well as those that have put up with all the Bravo Uniform Lima Lima Sierra Hotel India Tango that it throws at you on a regular basis and especially when there is a holiday they can cash in on to make your stress level increase.   I have to agree with Kamilcon this is a dictatorship that tends to be somewhat vicious from time to time.  Why we stay is a mystery to me but we do.  Maybe in hope of something better?
