  • The lab at the lowest level requires 30 chicken feed and 20 corn to make premium chicken feed.  At level 100 it says it gets a 90% reduction, and indeed it now requires only 3 chicken feed and 2 corn.

    So I think that % number is referring to the reduction of ingredients needed by the lab, and the the words "organic market contract" are a mistake.

    I originally thought so to, but as I pointed out in my post above yours, it doesn't add up:
    Premium chicken feed:
    Level 1: 30 chicken feed, 20 corn
    Level 2: 29 chicken feed, 19 corn (if it's -2% you'd have to round it up to come to these totals)
    Level 3: 29 chicken feed, 19 corn (doesn't change, so.... what does the -3% do on level 3?)
    Level 4: 28 chicken feed, 19 corn  (feed changes, but corn doesn't, so what does the -4% do? Also, 4% of the base = 1.2......)

    Just to be thorough, I've checked the numbers for the Pig Premium feed as well:

    Level 1: no pig premium feed
    Level 2 (-2%): 28 pig feed, 64 cabbage
    Level 3 (-3%): 28 pig feed, 64 cabbage (no change, again: what does the -3% do?)
    Level 4 (-4%): 27 pig feed, 63 cabbage (if it were 4% from the base, being 64 cabbage, there would be a difference of 2.816 cabbage. Let's round that up and make it 3..... BUT: we need only 1 cabbage less than on level 3, instead of 3)

    I still don't see the logic of this percentage. Is it related to the amount of ingredients? If so, the numbers in the recipes are wrong.

    If the numbers in the recipes are correct, the percentage on the basket stands for something else.

    Also: why would they suddenly deviate from their standard? The Bakery has packages as ingredients as well that change with each higher level. It's info screen, however, doesn't show that basket as you can see in this screenshot:

    That's what I thought, too. But the math doesn't add up, as Sheriziya (NL1) points out.

  • @CM Latten
    I notice that we are going to be able to produce Seaweed Humus in due course
    To do this we will require Super Humus but there does not appear to be any way to produce this.
    Are they planning on giving us another tractor to do this or an additional Laboratory function ?
    Good point John, also on page 10/11 it says we can make "Premium Liquid Fertilizer" from regular + premium hehe I assume that should be Super Liquid Fertilizer.

    The other weird thing is that to make Seaweed Feed you need super cowfeed + super duckfeed, but the recipe to make super duckfeed is 2 pages later than the recipe to make Seaweed Feed.

    Thanks for the reports, the techs are aware of  the Premium Liquid Fertilizer issue & the other recipes should make more sense by the time they are unlocked, until then they may be added to/tweaked. :)

    edited to add this recent screenshot:  I hovered over the % for an explanation

    @CM Latten or @WascallyWabbit

    Can you explain this?  Is it an error or typo or are we actually going to be getting market benefit from the lab?

  • I think this i just a technical mistake. This is the info on the Lester's building and probably it shouldn't appear in the Lab info screen. If you make all calculations, the market is affected only form Lester's building (correct me if I'm wrong). The Lab does not decrease the required products.
  • Can you explain this?  Is it an error or typo or are we actually going to be getting market benefit from the lab?

    We don`t have an answer yet. It has been reported as a bug, but no news as to what it means or if its just the wrong info in the hover message. Hopefully it will be fixed or explained soon either way. :)

    Thanks, WascallyWabbit.

    Level 4: 28 chicken feed, 19 corn  (feed changes, but corn doesn't, so what does the -4% do? Also, 4% of the base = 1.2......)

    Just to be thorough, I've checked the numbers for the Pig Premium feed as well:

    Level 3 (-3%): 28 pig feed, 64 cabbage (no change, again: what does the -3% do?)

    I don't see the problem. All the numbers look right to me.

    If we assume they are using 0.9 * level for the reduction(for levels 2-200), then it would be:
    L2: 1.8%
    L3: 2.7%
    L4: 3.6%
    L5: 4.5%
    L6: 5.4%

    Of course, to display that in the lab's info they would round the %, so we see:
    L2: 2%
    L3: 3%
    L4: 4%
    L5: 4%
    L6: 5%

    Which agrees with what the lab's info shows.

    So let's calculate the ingredient multiplier for levels 2-4:
    1 - .018 = .982
    1 - .027 = .973
    1 - .036 = .964

    So the amount of corn feed required (assuming they truncate the fractional part)
    for lab levels 2, 3, and 4:
    30 * .982 = 29.46 -> 29
    30 * .973 = 29.19 -> 29
    30 * .964 = 28.92 -> 28

    And for the corn part:
    20 * .982 = 19.64 -> 19
    20 * .973 = 19.46 -> 19
    20 * .964 = 19.28 -> 19

    And for the pig feed, which seems to use 29 for the 0% value:
    29 * .982 = 28.478 -> 28
    29 * .973 = 28.217 -> 28
    29 * .964 = 27.956 -> 27

    And for the cabbage part, which seems to use 66 for the 0% value:
    66 * .982 = 64.812 -> 64
    66 * .973 = 64.218 -> 64
    66 * .964 = 63.624 -> 63

    All of which agree exactly with the numbers you posted.

    You've missed the point, Flittermouse.  My Lab, when I hover over that little basket icon, says: "-7% of one type of product in an organic market contract".

    Lester's Secret Stash is what impacts a % of "one type of product in an organic market contract", it doesn't have any impact on the Lab and organic market contracts don't have any impact on the Lab.

    Your numbers may be 100% accurate but what is written in the bubble appears to make no sense.

    I didn't miss that point. I talked about that in an earlier post, where I said those words are probably just a mistake.
  • I noticed a new tab when clicking upgrade on anything. It's the second tab in the new upgrade screen with a little bucket on it saying "not available yet" Not sure if it was always there and I have not noticed it or is it something to do with a future update/upgrade?

    It's been there since the lab became part of the game, IIRC.
  • So it's a newish addition then - I only happened to notice yesterday :) Wonder what it's going to do and how is it linked to upgrades. As expanding our farm is not about new land (as it seems) maybe it's about new levels for the buildings?

    @Gardenfairy (GB1)  It is referred to in the Official Announcement as being a secret for now. :)
  • Can the farm lab be placed on any of the 3 farms ( Main, Gourmet, Flower) and used for feeds for all farms?  One farm lab total (not one on each of the 3 farms).
    Could I place a Farm Lab on my Flower farm and use corn & cabbage in it?

    Yes, regardless of what farm you place it on you can make all the same things. Farm happiness doesn't effect the lab either.  All you have to have is the 5x5 space and 5 workers for it.

    You can build three labs total one on each farm is possible.
  • IF you actually read the details on farm lab it claims that (the basket) -X (where x is level -1) "of one type of product in an organic market contract"'

    This does not seem to be true

    It simply produces premium feed or fertilizer at a cost of -X from the original cost (level 1)

    the text under the market basket is confusing (or GGS did NOT implement this as advertised)
  • Your post is confusing to me because you are talking about 2 different buildings;
    1. The lab which produces premium/super/seaweed feeds and fertilizers from other feeds and fertilizers
    2. Lester's Secret Stash which provides a percentage (depending on level) of a single item to a market contract.

    Where are you reading the details you mentioned above? I would like to check it out as well.
  • It's in the farm lab info button, for levels 2 and up.  The number actually refers to the % reduction of ingredients required for the lab recipes. The text "organic market contract" is a mistake.  I expect GGS will fix it sooner or later.

    So please, can you swap the position of the seaweed and the blue feed, it would make farming so much easier

    Agreed. This would make play much easier.

    @contrary(US1)  -  no just changing the title to read correctly will suffice.
