Why do I keep losing ranking points for the horse race??

Every time I go back to play it again I find I have lost ranking points. It is hard to get anywhere this way.  Why is this happening???

Other people are challenging your horse and winning.  That's why you lose points.  This part of the game makes no sense at all -- horses can be challenged even when in training.  Very frustrating.

It makes perfect sense.  If my horse - Dobbin - could not be challenged when it is in training, I could do my challenges until I'm out of fuel,. put Dobbin in training, challenge again when the training is done, repeat, repeat, repeat.

@v_333 (US1) the simple answer is, after bronze league, your horse loses a certain number of points when it is challenged and loses: -1 in Silver, -2 in Gold, -4 in Platinum (and Diamond).

@DuffyKid, it makes sense for the GGS's coffers, not for the players.

I'm not sure about that.  My score stays the same when I challenge someone and lose.

You are right @artful (US1) You win points from the races you challenge and win, you can also loose points when challenging in the different levels, silver, gold and on up and loose. You do loose points from others that challenge you and they win.
I try to only challenge horses close to my horses level. Usually with in 5 or 6 levels either way. Usually I get what I feel is a more balanced chance at winning the races I should and loosing the other as I should and it works out pretty close from what I have found.

I have been keeping track.  When I challenge another horse, and I lose, I haven't lost any points.  Just to be sure, I have been keeping track.  I just now have lost my last 5 challenges, and haven't lost any points.

I am in the bronze league and my recent challenges have all been in the gold league.

When you are in the bronze league and challenge someone and lose, you will not lose points. It does not matter what league the other horse is in. If you move up to the gold league and further, challenge and lose, you will lose points.

I do as Data King said, I try only to challenge horses close to my horse level...

So, you have to start the challenge in the Gold (or whatever) League then?  I moved into the Gold League, challenge horses in both the Gold and Platinum leagues and still don't lose points.  Must be calculated on which league you started?

As for challenging horses close to your own level, that's fine and dandy, but most of the time, I'm presented with horses 50 and over.  LOL!

Has nothing to do what league you start in or what other horses are in.

If you are in one of the below leagues and you initiate and lose the challenge:

Bronze League -  do not lose any points
Silver League - lose 1 point
Gold League - lose 2 points
Platinum League - lose 4 points
Diamond League - lose 4 points

If you are not losing any points ever.... be happy, I don't have such a glitch and I lose the points when I lose the challenge. :(

Once I moved up into the Gold League during this challenge a week ago, I haven't lost points for challenges to Gold Members.  (I checked after every challenge.)

Even though I always end up in the Gold League at the end of the tournaments, the next tournament has me starting back from the Bronze League.

yep, same here. Think I did get to platinum one tournament and started in silver... all depends where you end in the previous tournament as to where you start the next one

All you have to do to know about losing or gaining points is click on the notice board, than where it tells which league you are in put your mouse on the blue( I). It will tell you about points.

  • Funny thing is i have no strategy when challenging other horses. im  in Platinum league and one thing that i have noticed is that 1 day my horse wins a lot of challenges, the next it looses almost the same numbers that i won the day b4 and so it goes on and on, especially in a hard league like the Platinum. I only wish that they could give us the % of chance b4 the race and not after when it is finished lol

Sorry, but it makes perfect sense.  It doesn't cost anything to play the horses, apart from horseshoes to train them.
If it worked your way, you (nor anyone else)  would never have any horses to challenge as they would all be in training all of the time they were not "racing".  And then, only if they could find another horse to challenge that wasn't in training.

ok, I was wrong... you actually lose points when another player initiates the challenge and you lose ( you can tell if you lost by the messages that come in).

If you initiate the challenge and lose you get no points.

sorry about that... I just now finally figured it out! LOL

I only dabble with the horses, so I am still learning!!

It doesn't cost anything to play the horses??? Sorry m8 but i  spend millions of dollars (some people a lot of gold) on a temp farm that just disappears so i have to start it from the beginning and spend all of that hard earned $$ again. It really doesn't cost anything to play the weekly events, It doesn't cost anything to play the CC or HW event or...
But horses, it does cost a lot

That's your decision.  I've played the horses since I started playing (level 148 on main farm) and I've never spent more than a few farm $$ on extra fuel, and that only in the last two tournaments.  Anyone can play the horses without spending farm $$ or gold.

ok my bad,it seems u dont do temp farm this way u dont spend any money on horses. But how do u train your horse? how do u get the shoes if is there a free way to get it let us know, it will be gr8 not to have to spend all the millions of dollars and time to get shoes please send us the secret info.
  • I fill the 4 regular slots on the ship, every 6 hours = horseshoes.
Playing the horse tournament (some) = horseshoes.
Hard worker event (some)  = horseshoes.
    Contracts (some) = horseshoes.
Co-op Champ rewards (some) = horseshoes.

    No money involved.  :)
  • OK I read all notes above and I cant figure out how a horse from the bronze league challenges a horse from the gold league.  Is it a button you push or are you all just looking at the horse level in the Tournament Challenge screen and making the decision that if a horse breeding value is 53 then they are not a bronze horse?

Please educate me.  I am lost here. Thanks

This may help you to understand it a little better

Challenging other players - Tournament challenge

You can now challenge other players through your tournament transporter to prove how well your horses are trained.
    • During an active season, you can engage in player versus player competitions through the tournament transporter.
    • 3 opponents will be chosen for you to challenge - each of these players has obtained a rank close to your own in the current season.
    • Once you have selected an opponent, you can choose which discipline you would like to challenge them in and choose which horse you would like to send into this challenge. You can also see which horses your opponent chose for the respective challenge, however, their stats are not displayed.
    • After having challenged one of your 3 possible opponents, one new opponent will be chosen and put in their place, so you always have 3 possible opponents to challenge.
    • Challenging opponents costs fuel for your tournament transporter to get to the competition location.
    • If you win a challenge against a player you challenged, you win competition horseshoes and ranking points, if you lose, you only get competition horseshoes.
Being challenged by other players - Tournament preparation

Other players can challenge your horses, just as you can challenge theirs. Make sure you are prepared!
    • Once another player challenges you in a certain discipline, the challenge will happen automatically - You cannot accept or decline it. You will be informed about these challenges through a message on your new notice board on the horse ranch grounds.
    • In the Tournament Preparation, you can select one horse to face challengers for each discipline. If no horse is selected, a horse will be selected randomly.
    • If you are challenged and win against another player, you can review their breeding value, as well as your chance to win against them and will receive competition horseshoes.
    • If you are challenged and lose against another player, you can review their breeding value as well as your chance to win and might lose ranking points according to your league.

    Notice Board

News about your victorious horses spread fast and your mail box is overflowing with letters from your workers asking you how your last competition went... and some fan mail of course.
It's time to set up a notice board so everyone on your farm can see all the recent news regarding your horses.
    • A new notice board can be found next to your tournament transporter.
    • You will receive messages about a new season starting or the ongoing season ending, as well as reports about challenges that happened because other players challenged your horses.
    • Messages about challenges include some details about the challenge as well as rewards for winning or penalties for losing.
    • The notice board also has a tab dedicated to information about the current season, as well as another tab that will enable you to customize your appearance to other players with a future update.
    Seasons - Leagues & Classes

Even your horses deserve a break every now and then, a nice relaxing evening in the hay or just lazing around on the pasture can be a nice change of daily routine for them. Therefore player versus player competitions are only possible during seasons. After each season, you and your horses get a break to recover from all the exciting tournaments.
    • Each season lasts roughly 6-12 weeks.
    • Player versus player competitions are only possible while a season is active, there is no PvP during season breaks, but you can still challenge George, Lester and Tessa.

As with all serious sporting events, there are leagues in order to enable competition between trainers of equal skill.
Take your chance, challenge other players and climb up the ladder to reach Diamond league!
    • There are 5 different leagues you will be placed in according to how well you are doing throughout a season:
      • Bronze
      • Silver
      • Gold
      • Platinum
      • Diamond
    • Everyone starts in Bronze league and can work their way up all the way to Diamond league.
    • Each league comes with a certain bonuses that are applied to every player within this league.
    • Each league is divided into classes that you have to ascend through in order to make your way to the next league.

There are classes within each league. These classes enable you to climb the ladder and grab some nice rewards along the way.
    • There are 5 classes in each league but the diamond league - V, IV, III, II, I with I being the highest.
    • Once you are promoted into another class (e.g. from Bronze V to Bronze IV), you earn a small reward.
    • If you drop down a class, you do not lose rewards you already earned, but you also cannot earn previously unlocked rewards again by re-entering the class you dropped out of.
    • If you managed to ascend from Bronze league to any other league during an active season, you will be placed in a higher class within Bronze league at the start of the next season (e.g. Diamond league players start in Bronze I, whereas Bronze league players start in Bronze V).

Your position within a league and its class is determined by the amount of ranking points you earned throughout the season.
    • Ranking points can be earned by actively challenging other players and winning against them. If you were challenged by another player, you cannot earn additional ranking points for winning against them.
    • If you happen to lose against a player you challenged yourself, there is no penalty. If, however, another player challenges you and you lose, there is a small penalty for this defeat.
    • The amount of ranking points you lose upon being defeated by another player who challenged you depends on the league you are currently in - you cannot lose any ranking points in Bronze league and penalties for losing a challenge will get progressively bigger as you progress through higher leagues.

Diamond League is a very special league, therefore several different rules and possibilities are different to those of other leagues:
    • There are additional requirements apart from mastering Platinum I that need to be met in order to enter Diamond league (win 50 times while in Platinum I).
    • You cannot drop out of Diamond league as soon as you entered it, you will stay within this league throughout the whole season.
    • A ranking is displayed within the diamond league only, so you can see how well you are doing compared to all other players who made it to this special league.
    • The top players within diamond league get a chance to win additional rewards.

    Rewards

Of course competitions are already quite a lot of fun themselves, but wouldn't they be even more interesting if you were rewarded for all of your efforts? Thought so, read on to see which rewards you can grab along the way!
    • If you win a PvP competition you initiated, you earn ranking points and competition horseshoes. Ranking points determine your position in each league, competition horseshoes can be used to upgrade your buildings further or to buy new horses. The amount of competition horseshoes you can earn can be increased by ascending into different leagues, the higher the league, the better the competition horseshoe bonus that is applied.
    • Upon ascending through class within leagues, you get a reward each time you enter a new class for the first time during the respective season. These include a variety of valuable consumables, Dollars, Gold, horseshoes and many more options. If you do not collect these rewards manually, they will be credited automatically by the end of the season.
    • Depending on the league you are in upon the end of the season, you will earn several rewards. You can preview these awards in the respective league overview.
    • If you reach Platinum or Diamond league, you get a chance to earn exclusive avatars to be displayed in the challenge overview and trophies to display at a special trophy stand within your horse ranch (this trophy stand will be revealed during the season). Additionally there will be several special rewards for the top 10 players within the diamond league ranking.
    • Titles will be made available with a later update - these will also be hard to get.
