Horses (graphics and in general)

I hate to write a negative post, but looks like no one else addresses this matter, so here goes:

When I first started playing big farm, I LOVED the graphics of the game. Then, I reached level 16. I had been anticipating horses and captain barnacles' ship! But then, the missions began. The horse graphics look awful. (sorry, but they are.) The person who designed them has possibly never seen a horse. Or a photograph of a horse. Or heck, even a well-executed drawing of a horse.
To begin with, the training graphics....
There is nowhere near enough space in the training areas. The position in which the horses land after "jumping"  would throw a rider. (Speaking of which, why on earth are there no riders??????) The "dressage" is nothing like dressage. at allnot even close.
I don't feel like listing everything wrong with the horses, so here are a few:
  • Not enough space for a horse to live LEGALLY in real life. (not in the stable, and there are NO pastures!)
  • The horse animations and design look like... not horses, to say the least.
  • Why does it cost horseshoes to train horses?
  • Why do you need to take 4 hours to "train" the horses?
  • The "competition transporter" is way to small for any horse!
When goodgame studios updates the game again, I hope they think about changing the horses. Or getting rid of the horses and starting over. But, as previously stated, I LOVE the game!

  • hey blueberrry i really like your attitude keep it up lol at the moment any update made by GGS is towards to financial gain, probably they don't remember what happened to other games when they took this same direction.  i hope it doesn't happen with this one because it is fun.

  • Heeey! I like my pony!

    I'll just tackle this bit:

It is a game, not real life, the horses are perfectly fine. :)  They're pixel horses after all.
I agree about the design of the horses.
When the horses/ship were introduced into BigFarm, it was determined that horseshoes would be the currency required.  One gets horseshoes from filling the ship and uses them to train horses.
It takes 4 hours to train because GGS says so.  You can train quite a few levels in the 4 hours span if you have enough horseshoes.
Since the horses don't actually travel *in* the transporter to competitions, it doesn't matter how big or small it is.

As Duffykid said, this game is not meant to be a real to life simulation. Instead it is meant to be a fun and light hearted take on a fictional farm. There are a lt of things in the game that don't really make sense in the real world, but in Big Farm world everything is allowed ;)

  • When I first started playing BigFarm, about a year and a half ago, the horses didn't even move!!!  I sent in a "Tell us What you Think" message, and even though I probably didn't have anything to do with it.......within a week, after a very brief downtime for maintenance, the horses started moving!!!  I have to say that in my BigFarm experiences, THAT was the very most exciting of all!!  because, well, you know,......I thought they did it, because I suggested it!  LOLOL!  but anyways, I love the horses, they're cute, and fun.........I just wish the "odds thing" really worked in your favor when it should...... B)
  • SoLo it was you!  Wow, that's awesome!  hehe
  • Yes, I guess it is a game, but my main concern is that the horses don't have riders, other than that, the graphics make sense for a lighthearted game...
