    Thanks @farmerjohn 22 (US1)
As you se, there is still 2 ordinary houses left. But when Candy farm comes again, i'll buy some more. Takes a little time, but with this game everything takes time. Pink isn't my favourite colour, but somehow it looks good in flower farm :)

In a shocking turn of events this evening, the ladies did it !! They won the fight in the Male Versus Female X game. At various stages, there seemed to be a stalemate, and the numbers rocked back and forth but gained no momentum for either side. Then, suddenly the ladies seemed to find strength and took it all the way to 1.000 to take yet another trophy from the boys !!! What a great gang of girls the forum has !

This has been lthrrr, reporting for the Daily Spud.

Male v female XI result just in !!! And the shocker is, THE BOYS DID IT !!! It was a hard fought battle from start to finish, but the boys triumphed, (this time). The score now stands at : 8 to the girls, and 3 to the boys, and as you see from that score, the boys are lagging a little  :) But, this reporter supposes that the boys have to win sometimes ! Congratulations boys, good luck to both genders in the next game !!

    LESTER'S LOCUSTS.......CURSE OR BLESSING?

As our community has witnessed firsthand, well known farmer Lester Crowley seems to be constantly plagued by pesky swarms of locusts! What can be done to help out poor old Lester? We posed this question to the head of research for Big Farm, the eminent scholar Professor Chester P. Crackpot (PHD).  The professor responded quite adamantly.
"Lester's Locusts?", chuckled the professor, "He's sitting on a gold mine and doesn't even know it! Let me explain."
"Locusts are in fact grasshoppers. Many of you probably don't realize that insects, especially grasshoppers and crickets, are considered by those in many countries of the world to be a delicacy and high in protein.
" In fact, insects are even being mass produced in the United States for human consumption!" "Don't believe me?"
"See for yourself!....http://bigcricketfarms.com/   "What Lester should be doing instead is gathering and roasting them!".
"He would make a TON of money!"  "And just think of the new and exciting recipes, such as this one.........

    Honey-spiced Locusts

    Ingredients:
    • 1/4 cup butter
    • pinch of salt
    • 1 cup cleaned locusts
    • 2 Tbs. honey
    • 1 tsp. Aleppo pepper, mixed in with the honey
Melt your butter in a pan over medium heat. Add the locusts and and salt and stir gently for around 10 minutes, making sure to get them completely covered in butter.
When the bugs are suitably crisped, drizzle the spice-honey over them and stir a bit more. Then spread them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and cook for around 10 minutes at 200 F, until the bugs are no longer quite so sticky.

Is the professor right or not? It's up to you to decide.  You read it here first at "The Daily Spud" :)

Wednesday, April 27, 2016            Big Farm Community News                  Legendary Edition

COUSIN HESTER ; THE WHOLE STORY

Shrouded in myth and mystery, the legend of a creature who lives in a cave outside of our farms
may soon be brought into the light! For the whole story, we asked one of Big Farm's most knowledgeable
historians of the community, Professor Chester P. Crackpot (PHD). Here is the story as told by our friend
       and neighbor, the good professor....

Of course everyone has heard rumors of the creature who dwells in caves on the temporary farms.
I am here today to tell you that such a creature does really exist!  I am thoroughly convinced that the
creature that the locals fondly call Cousin Hester is a totally new species!  In fact, I have devoted much time
and effort in order to study the habits of this "Cousin Hester".  I have approached the entrance of the cave
many times to get a closer look, but discretion is called for when dealing with an unknown animal. When I
got close to the entrance, I was met with a deep growl and a rather impressive display of sharp teeth. So
it's no wonder that such little is known about Cousin Hester. Here's what I have discovered about the
strange creature. It's glowing red eyes suggest that the animal can see well in the pitch black darkness of
the cave and would only leave it's home on a dark, moonless night. I also believe that this creature shares the
habits of the rodent genus Neotoma, more commonly known as the pack rat. It is very fond of bright shiny
objects which it carries off to it's nest.  It seems that Cousin Hester ventures from it's cave on dark nights
to explore it's territory!  And when Cousin Hester comes across something she finds pretty, she takes it with
her!  This would certainly explain why so many farmers have reported large amounts of gold vanishing
overnight!  Because what is prettier and more shiny than gold? Now, legend has it that Cousin Hester has
been around for a very, very long time, so this could mean that a vast treasure trove is inside the creature's
lair! But I seriously doubt that anyone would be brave (or foolish) enough to find out for sure. We may never
know all that we would like to about Cousin Hester, but speaking for myself, we should just leave her alone
in peace and be proud that we have such a rare creature in our midst.  Thank you.  ~The Professor~

There you have it! Thanks for reading "The Daily Spud".   ~farmerjohn 22~

Cousin Hester is also a very close friend of Gollum of Lord of the rings fame. On cold dark nights they will find latest community bonfire won in some competition  and toast marshmallows and sausages, sing folk songs in their native tongues and tell scary stories of nosey people trying to capture them to study them. They also help dogs carry away pigs, but the dogs get the love. The gold in cousin Hestors cave is stored several feet high but has no value to her, she takes it because its shiney and pretty.  So don't be afraid of cousin Hester
  • @Lesley52 (GB1)   What?  Do not be afraid of a creature that steals our gold when that is what this game runs on?  Hmm,  OK, I won't be afraid, I will just be >:) very angry, hehehe.

lol @adoptapet (US1)   GGS have brainwashed poor cousin Hester . Taken advantage of her liking of sparkly stuff. She is a poor defenceless creature , true has sharp teeth and bright burning eyes but all she wants is to be left alone

MALES BREAK THE FEMALES WINNING STREAK!

In a stunning upset, the guys were finally able to break the gals longtime winning streak in the Males vs. Females game!

"Those gals are so doggone stubborn, it's hard to get ahead". "But this time we did it!", a member of the men's team was heard to say. Will this be just a fluke or the beginning of a winning streak for the guys? Only time will tell, that's for sure.  Congratulations fellas, you earned it!

Beginning shortly there will be an influx of new puppies available for Big Farmers!

Soon there will be many thousands of dogs added to our canine population! What effect will this have on the dogs that we've had for so long? Won't they be just a bit jealous of our new companions? Let's hope they all get along just fine.  :)                     I do hope that when we finally get a CAT, it won't be scared out of it's wits by the massive number of dogs.  B)

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BIG FARMER

Today while I was taking a pleasant stroll around my farm, I came upon my dog, Cyber. You know what he was doing? That's right, he was digging a hole!   I watched him with great anticipation because Big Farm dogs have excellent noses and can find lots of valuable things in the ground. Guess what he found this time! MONEY!  That's right, one hundred thousand dollars! Thinking quickly, I grabbed a shovel and began frantically shoveling the cash back into the hole.
Why would I do that, you ask? Well, I don't completely trust my neighbor, Lester Crowley. He's always hanging around and hiding stuff in his "secret" stash. As if everybody doesn't know about his personal little treasure trove!                                        If he ever found out I have 100K on hand, he would pester me to spend it foolishly!animated-money-smiley-image-0007
I need that cash to improve my farm!                                                                                                                                             I looked over at my old barn and shook my head sadly.

There's no way I can improve it for only a hundred grand. Steve would just laugh at me!                                                             Now what should I do with the money?

Wait, I know what I'll do! I'll use the money to fix up my beloved Cybers' doghouse! <3

                              Happy dog!

Our team of devoted Veterinarians have voiced animal welfare and safety concerns regarding the introduction of a slide in the level 10 doghouse.

"We must not humanize our pets too much or we endanger those we love so dearly"
Slides may seem like fun for humans, but can be very dangerous for our pets.
