Favorite's offer not right!

rie22 (US1)rie22 (US1) US1 Posts: 361
I was clicking to harvest a tree and the favorites offer came up.  30k of gold GONE for 500k rep points. I had no intention of clicking it but there is no warning. this is not right!!!!  YOu shouldn't trick people into spending gold GGS. I've been a loyal customer for so long.  Its not like I accidentally clicked to speed up a building or anything like that. This was your popup which I've complained about before could happen and NOTHING has ever been done. btw if I wanted 500k reps I would have just earned them and it would have cost me a heck of a lot less gold!

The placement of these pop up special offers are absolutely ridiculous.  This is one bug that has never been addressed or attempted to be fixed!!!
  • YES!  That almost happened to me, too, with those expensive horse offers!!! Thankfully I didn't have enough gold otherwise I'd have a $200 US dollar horse I never wanted.  Sometimes wonder if ggs has designed this purposely to line up perfectly with other harvests/collections.  This is criminal, ggs.  You need to fix this feature and refund.  I'm sure others have the same problem.  I'll be watching this forum to see when and how it's fixed.

GGS is fleecing people with those popups ...completely not right! I've made a thread about this a long time ago. OF course NOTHING was done...I won't spend a dime on gold again UNLESS I get my gold back. I've accidentally spent gold before but this wasn't accidental clicking and is entirely GGS's fault.

they just need to add a are you sure button that would solve everything and it needs to be on anything and everything gold is used

Perfect suggestion - now let's see if GGS will really do something about it!

Their amount of greed has gone crazy and really making hanging this game out to dry look very good. It seems that it's not about the fun and how you play the game anymore.
  • Over my last 3 years of playing this game, MANY players have asked for a "Are you sure" button before spending gold.  Those requests rarely get a response from moderators other than they will send the request on to the developers.  They are NEVER going to add this feature to the game;  they make too much money off of accidental clicking.

I adjusted the click settings for my mouse and made it a little bit harder to click.  That stopped my accidental spending, along with not buying gold and keeping less than 10,000 gold on hand.

    seriously???

people asking for less gold influence in missions and they bring a special offer to just buy the reputation points lol

they still not see that people are running away from the game cause this kind of things??

this wasn't accidental clicking.  I wasn't even clicking fast.  I've accidentally spent gold without saying a thing in the past.  This was their popup getting in the way when I was harvesting.  There was no way to avoid it.  they really do need to do something about it.

This happened to me -- I lost my entire gold stash -- about $10,000.  I wrote them numerous times with no response.  I had no intention on clicking on anything, I was harvesting.  They never responded.

A "confirm" button would be in order..

I wrote GGS but I doubt they will do anything that is how they are.  Its not right.  I know they make a lot of money from this BUT they are going to make a lot less in the long run from me anyway.
  • how can it not be intentional?  and in that case why would ggs "fix" this?  The response to this thread will tell everyone if this is intentional or coincidental.  In either case, it needs to be changed!
  • OK....here's the thing that makes NO sense from a business point of view. We all eventually use the gold that we buy. Putting safeguards in place so that we are better able to use that gold for what we have intended instead of an accidental or unintentional purchase or upgrade is good business. Not having a confirmation button before spending gold is insane. If a player accidentally spends gold it may cause ill feelings & GGS is wrong to assume that more gold will be bought to replace whatever was accidentally spent. I understand this is a business but a good business would have no problem helping us to safeguard our gold purchase so that we are better able to use it as we desire.....so be it.

The "confirmation" button is an issue we have had for a very long time, and I'll be honest and tell you I don't see there ever being one introduced. I actually think there should be one personally, but unfortunately it is not my call to make.

So I get my response back from GGS and they say that I need to be more careful clicking.  I couldn't have avoided the "favorites" popup for my life. I would need to be a Jedi to do that and I'm not.  These popup gold offers should be placed in with the "omar" offers.  I think GGS has finally caved me in with this one.  I feel like I've been stolen from then told its my fault.

I am going to put in my 2 cents on this thread and say SHAME on GGS.  The above player has left the game because of the unfairness and sheer ignorance on GGS's part!  Does this help to voice my opinion in the forum?  - NO - because GGS flat OUT does NOT care about it's long time customers who have paid hundreds and thousands of dollars. SHAMEFUL!!!

For those who may not know, @rie22 (US1) is the founder of the Brat Pack and is the one who helmed the Pack to #1 on the US server. She's a high-level, active, long time player on this game. To lose a player of this caliber over something like this is a real shame, and very short-sighted on the part of GGS. Rie was a gold player, and has bought thousands of real $ worth of gold in the time she played on this server. That income stream is now lost to GGS over what to them is nothing - 30k in gold. To us players that is a lot, but to GGS it would be nothing to reimburse this amount. I'm very disappointed in the way this was handled. I hope that GGS can find a way to make this right.

Like Rie and Wendy, I too have encountered this problem. Luckily for me (like in Wendy's case) it was with an offer for one of the insanely expensive horses and I didn't have enough gold, so I didn't lose anything. But all I was doing was harvesting my chickens, and the pop up came on just as I was clicking on a chicken in that exact spot. If I had had enough gold in my account, I would have been out hundreds of thousands of gold for a horse I didn't want or need.

This is a real issue, and I wish the developers would take another look at it.

These pop ups are unfair. The only possible reason for them is for GGS to get us to spend gold accidentally. These offers could be placed somewhere else so that they wouldn't be clicked unwittingly while harvesting our farms or while signing in.

Why is it so hard for GGS to have goodwill customer service?? The gold given back to the people who clicked on these offers by accident would be spent anyway.

And where is Popeye?? Isn't he our advocate?? He commented in this thread but not to the problem of the pop ups.

Something needs to be done or more people will leave this game.

That's not right! I hope you keep on to them to get your gold back.

There was no way to avoid clicking one of 6 buttons if you happened to be working your farm when that offer popped up. There should have been a delay on the buttons like there is with the handbook deals, or better yet why do those things have to pop up in the first place? The prime spending deal doesn't pop up like that, neither does the co-op challenge timer but we still notice them.

As for the gold lock, something should be in place to prevent accidental spending. Happy customers are paying customers. I don't think an "Are you sure" pop up when spending gold would be a bad thing. In fact I think it would be a good thing because people would feel safer about their gold purchases and therefore purchase gold more often. We know what we want to spend our gold on and we will spend it anyway. Accidently losing your gold is very upsetting so why not let us be sure our gold is safe until we are ready to spend it. Now the confirmation button wouldn't really work with missions because its so fast paced, so maybe we could have the option to disable the confirmation and enable it when we're ready.

Farmer Mark D said it perfectly!
It is a SHAME to lose such a long time player  such as Rie 22. She has put so much time and money into GGS and her farm, and to help others build up their own farms. SHAME on you GGS!!

This has almost happened to me also more than once, because of the misplaced pop ups while I am harvesting. The "ARE YOU SURE" Button are something similar is a MUST! We are going to spend our gold, let us spend it on what we really want and not because of fleecing.  Because of these pop ups... I no longer buy the gold to lose it on your ill placed pop up offers. There are many that have stopped purchasing the gold or limited their amount because of these pop ups!!

GGS~ It is the customers like Rie 22 and all of us that enable you have this job to get a paycheck!
Not much else I can say that already hasn't been voiced above!!

LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS BEFORE THERE ARE NONE LEFT!!
  • I do not think it's right that GGS didn't give her gold back. I've also clicked on those pop ups while harvesting, several times.  Thankfully, I didn't have enough gold to make the purchases.  It is tough to avoid clicking on them while harvesting, especially how strategically they are placed within the game when they do pop up.

I agree with having an "are you sure" button before spending gold.  Rie leaving the game over this, which I do understand the reason, is a great loss to the game.  She put a lot of time and money into her farm and has helped so many people with good guidance in helping them build up their own farms.  She will be greatly missed in the game.

Customer Service....GOOD customer service goes a long way in a business.  GGS should have made this right with Rie.

My thoughts are why do they have to have pop up, everyone can see that there are offers, if they want to look at them, then we as the players should just click on them. I am sad to see riee22 go over this issue, just give her gold back, its not like its real gold and your going to be out anything.
  • What happened to Rie 22, and has happened to so many other customers, is truly unfair business practice at its sneakiest. Tricking loyal customers into purchasing items not needed/wanted makes players angry and rebellious enough to quit buying gold and/or leave the game. Truly sad when more gold would be bought for those things desired but not aren't and won't be.
Somewhere along the line GGS forgot what good business ethics are, how to engage in good customer service and the importance of both. I wonder if response to our needs and requests is so poor because they figure if we leave, no matter how long we've played or how much we've invested, that others will take our places and they'll still make $.  If that's truly the case, nothing we say or ask for matters because they will (and have) done exactly what they want when it has to do with controlling the buying/spending of gold. Truly a shame when an international company could have a gold star reputation instead of such a tarnished one that gets blacker by the day.
  • I'm joining in on the chorus -- I haven't purchased gold in 4 months now and I probably won't buy gold again.  I used to love this game and I've played for almost 3 years.

Over and over again players have asked for a prompt button before they spend gold and the developers keep ignoring that very reasonable request.  So now I ignore all the buy gold offers in response.

  • This is definitely SHAMEFUL on GGS part. It is incredibly WRONG on their part to have pop ups like that. In essence it is stealing, when a person buys gold for real money and then gets cheated out of it in that way. To me those pop ups are like a con artist... very bad on GGS part... very disappointed .... GGS needs to start listening to their customers... cause you know what? In business = "The customer is your paycheck" and many businesses say "the customer is always right" ... if in fact you want to keep you customers that is ....

Rie 22 taught this game to me and to SO many others.  As was mentioned, she brought the Brat Pack to where it is and did it with style and grace.  To lose her is something you don't really want to do GGS.  I have spent many dollars because of playing the game she taught me.  I might have gone to some other game had she not tutored me and now I'm on US and UK servers spending my money.

Think this over quickly.  You MIGHT be able to get her back.  It would be good for all of us including you.

  • GGS greed has ruined the game for me. I used to be an avid player. No more. Now I have to force myself to sign in, mostly to help out or not disappoint my coop. I can't really see myself sticking with this game much longer...not if it no longer takes any effort to rise in the ranks, as long as you have enough gold to buy repo points
  • Yeah, I am pretty well done as well. This game has become just a money grabber, and those who get ahead are the ones who buy their way to the top. where is the challenge in that?

I totally agree with @rie22 US1 there needs to be a confirmation on all possible gold spending. Yes I know this will not go over well with those who use gold during missions and I agree the way it is now it is much easier and quicker to do. But as for the rest of the game there should be an option or confirmation to spend gold before it is spent. GGS must address this issue and soon if they want to keep those loyal players playing for much longer.
Just my two cents worth!! ;)
