The Architect - The Rational Behind It's Rarety.

Well, here's my take on this one.

As many of us always wonder why we even need a architect in the first place since the upgrade is just like any other upgrade, no other step but to press the upgrade arrow.

Now the reason why you cannot count on its presence is quite simple.  Being unable to tell when he's going to show up and when he's going to leaves forces you to make two choices.

One choice is you upgrade whatever you see that isn't currently "running", all is good for a building that doesn't produce but any production building that are producing will mean you can't upgrade or......

And there is where it gets darker and darker.  You are forced to spend gold.  See by having the architect rare, unable to predict this means that when ever you spot the damn thing you decide that since you will never spot it again for another month or so, you stop production with gold of what ever you want to upgrade, start the upgrade, stop it with gold so you can move to another upgrade and repeat.

There's reason for the architect at all, none at all.  It's just a regular upgrade, if you needed to do a few more steps to for the final upgrade there might be a reason but they are none, you just press the upgrade arrow when the architect is around that's it.  There's no reason why we cannot know when the architect is around, again that would be simple like it would be there say every sunday.  No all of this is just some twisted way of squeezing a lot of gold out of you, and it works because it is so rare and I am quite certain they obtain lots of $$$ that way, I've spent well over 20,000 gold just because of the architect myself.

Pooxy I believe you have answered your own question.
The architect use to come around about every 10 - 15 days. Now he seems totally random as you said. As for spending Gold that is totally up to the player as you said. One can just wait and hope to be able to put him to work the next time he comes around.
The chances of ggs reducing what requires Gold is not likely to go away. This is how they make money, so other players can play for free. My self I rarely buy Gold and have been playing over 2 years now. It just take longer to get ahead.
  • The gold spending always remain optional but we all know, without spending gold, you will be crippled in the long run on many levels.

The main problem here is not so much the rarety of the architect but the fact that we couple its totally random presence and instead of being random but staying at least one day, he appears and disappear without a word throughout the day it deems to appear.  They've made it so that spending gold is pretty much an obligation when he appears since catching him is nearly impossible now.

It was obvious to me from the start that this was a gold mine for company and it is effective does not mean it is right or enhances the game.  I will not participate in that charity thing again no real instruction and after the mess of December have little trust or faith in what is presented so will just farm and do events which I understand.
  • I did the charity event only because, ever since I began playing and looking at others' farms, I have wanted a telescope. I asked around as to where they got theirs, and was told the event was discontinued. I was morose.
so when I saw the event had returned, I got my telescope, thank you, so now I don't have to donate large sums of money for a deco again.

Have you done one of the temp farms yet? If not be sure your Flower farm is up and running with a level 5 Flower Shop so you can make Honey cream on a regular bases. You are going to need it :)
  • I agree with you Pooxy. That darn architect is tricky. I use to wait and wait for him to show up to upgrade a building or plot of land and then out the blue he was there. Before I finished upgrading one item, he was gone, and like you said back again. I started tracking him, he was not going to elude me for very long. I notice that when Monica the trader in the blue car appears on the farm, the architect is usually not too far behind her appearance, maybe a day or so. And yes, he appears and disappears in the same day at least 3 times.

When I see Monica, I don't start a production facility because I know that tricky architect is soon to show up.
