On the old forum i could see when a player started playing game
now i cant find it on this new forum
How do i find out how and when a player started playing the game ???
@pumpingboy (GB1)  If you click their name to go to their profile, there is a "Joined Date" there....Whether thats just for the forum or the game too I am not sure.
  • :) The join date in the Forum profile is just for the joining the forum.  there is no way to find the date a player joined the game except to ask them.

When I am reading through the posts and have one to quote, it takes me to the bottom of the page, but does not return me to the post I wanted to quote.  This is really getting annoying having to look and look to see where I left off! It used to take me right back to the post I was reading. I've tried it with both IE and google chrome--yeah, yeah, I did all the clearing cashes, rebooting try to fix it stuff--does not work.

And using both browsers now, (it was only with IE), the typing is showing on the screen much later after I typed is and comes thru to the screen in bunches. Cash clearing and rebooting does not help either!

When I am reading through the posts and find on I want to comment on, I click on quote.  Then as I continue to read, I find someone has already answered it and so I want to delete it from my message box-where I type in my messages, but it won't let me!!!  I can delete the text, but not that blue background--unless I go to drafts and delete everything and start all over-annoying and a waste of time!.

If I go anywhere near the  blue part when quoting messages in my reply, the cursor is stuck there and won't go anywhere on the white part again.  The Forum screens just plain are not working properly!  I have to wait even for my cursor to get in the right place!!!!

    We need a better search!!!

    We need the posts numbered!!

What's happening with the groups and how do they work!

    I give up!!!
    Typing is nuts tonight!!!

I'm glad to hear that the Disagree button will be removed. Ever since we moved to the new forum, it's been abused. This was made clear when an otherwise excellent Halloween forum contest was marred by players putting Disagrees on contest entries. :(

  • I've been trying to on the game on the US1 server and it says that there is maintenance going on.  What is happening there? Changes to the game? Fixes? Thanks

I keep getting notifications that there are comments, yet when I click to go to them, it says 'comment not found' -here is the most recent one. "CM Kayla (GB1) commented on Some more Questions Answered 29.11.2015."

It says it is called More Questions Answered, but when I search for that thread, I do not find any new comments on it. And when I go to CM Kayla's bio, the comment is not listed on her page.
  • thanks for the new christmas list project but i wish that you can add a function to show current inventory at a glance so you know how much u can put in at anytime instead of checking your inventory box to see how much u have on hand in order not over donate and not leave enought for farm's use and then go click back to the tree to donate items. i dont know if the game developer read this or not as there no way you can check, maybe have an area to notify the suggestion has been read and acknowledge, it would that be neat. thank you in advance
  • When I click on the max button, It tells me how many I have, then I just move the slider back so I leave what I want in my storage.  then I click to donate it. If I have more in storage than I have left to donate, the max will only be that amount--, it only has me donate what is needed to finish, then gives a message in case I want to donate more, which I don't because it is best saved to help others on the 7th day, then I can donate more if I want or keep it for the next week.

Gosh! Nasty Santa. Not only he steals goods from farms, but now even the functions from forums? It must be some brand new species of Santa. He deserves some good spanking. :)
  • @Kamilcom (GB1)  He left you a nice note in announcements though & he is gonna bring you a shiny new secret button. :)

Disagree - As mentioned above, the reactions were always supposed to have a positive influence on the community. The Disagree option not only stood out as a negative reaction, but removed space for constructive discussion as to why something was so disagreeable.

Agree - Similarly to the Disagree function, the Agree function seemed to lower the amount of active discussions regarding features/suggestions.

Both of the above were also seen to be used adversely to their original intentions, rather being used to ‘agree’ with friends and ‘disagree’ with players that weren’t on good terms with the reactor.

Really? How did "disagree" button remove any space for anything? And since when is disagreement a negative reaction? Oh, I know. Since we entered the era of political correctness, outrageous positivism and denial of truth. :)

How does "agree" lower the discussion? Those who clicked "agree" will now probably click "like", do nothing or just post something like "i agree".

Also I wonder how GGS is doing analysis of peoples relationships. :) (chuckle)

That's some very "interesting" reasoning in the above anouncement. :)

In general both "agree" and "disagree" button had some information value, but that is also partially determined by the maturity of the public using these features. Nothing wrong with the features themselves imo. But it was obvious that some indivuduals were not able to cope with disagreement expressed in this way and were tempted to plunge themselves into tantrums on forums. So in this sense it is likely to help to keep forums civilised. Imo the need to remove them rather expresses the overall maturity of the comunity then anything else. So I guess there are point's which can be agreed uppon after all. :)  But it shouldn't be voiced out like that, cause we need .......... ehm ......... we need to be positive. :)

    @RunsWivScissors (GB1) Thanks mate. :)
  • Personally I liked the agree and disagree buttons.  Nothing personal about them for me, just an indicator of my and other people's opinions and it's ok for us to have different opinions. For more detailed comments there are posts.  From what I read though I guess it was being misused just to be mean to someone and that is not good nor what I think it was intended for. I never used it in that way ever.   I thought it eliminated a lot of I agree and I disagree posts.  Kind of nice to see how others were reacting. To bad some people I guess, from what I read were using it badly.  I'm sure a lot of others just used it like I did, I agree or I disagree and that's the end of it.
  • @CM Nafaru  or @CM Latten

When the new group function is operational would you please throughly explain how it works and some applications that we might use it for?  Thank You
  • I noticed that the times have been removed on some of the posts, leaving only the date. Please bring back the date AND the time on the posts. We need it for reference since the posts are not numbered.  Thank You
  • I noticed that the times are missing on the posts now (except for todays). Please bring back the date AND the ties so we have it for reference.  We really need it since the posts are not numbered.  Thank You

@Craftycritters (US1)  If the post was made today, it will have a timestamp on it. Once it becomes a yesterday post, that changes to a datestamp, but when you hover your cursor over the date, it will still show you the time too. :)

I thought the Agree button was quite useful. When somebody came up with a good idea to which I could add nothing I could just agree. It saved a lot of space taken up by posts that just said "Yes", "Me too"

The Disagree button was completely dysfunctional. If you don't agree then you need to post. What was it in particular that you disagreed with?; why?; what would you prefer instead? Useful contributions to a discussion.

    imo

I agree :) with @Uncle John (GB1) about "agree" button. That's exactly what I had in mind - it simplified feedback.

I disagree :) about "disagree" button. It was very well functional. Although I would admit that more detailed disagreement can often be beneficial, I also maintain that there are some good reasons to just press "disagree" button and carry on. I could even claim, to counter the OA, that the absence of "disagree" button limits the response and feedback options. :) .

I disagree with you about the Disagree button, Kamilcon. :D   I'm glad to see the Disagree button gone. It was being abused by players.  Nowhere was this more obvious than in the recent Halloween forum contest when there were Disagrees being put on entries into the contest. What was an otherwise excellent contest was marred by their use.  :(    I also saw them on posts elsewhere in the forum that showed they were being used for harassment. Not a good thing if you want a decent discussion.

I understand what you say about abuse and somewhat agree (although not clear about forum contest as I've never visited that). But it's not the problem of "DIsagree" button by any means. it's the problem of immature, malicious and othervise deprived and evil users. :):)
In short, mature and reasoneable prevalent majority is penalised for silliness of tiny minority of immature users.

    Uncle John (GB1) said:

I avoided examples on purpose, but yay, why not. Will suggest two.  :):):)

First: Sort of "yes/no" responses on ideas. Some would like to engage in simple "yes/no" "voting" if you will to express their appreciation of the post or parts of it, but don't want to be drawn into a larger debate or simply don't have time to detail why or with what exactly they disagree.
Second: Some posts, imo, occasionally have such a low quality, that simple "disagree" or similar as an expression of the reader's view and evaluation is enough.
(For analogy of both see some blog servers with options to evaluate article and resulting positive or negative "karma" of regular author.).
For both above situations "disagree" button provides a simple and non-confrontational option to provide feedback for those who bother enough to give it.
Possible abuse of anonymity is another issue completely.

Since GGS would probably lose a LOT of customers if they were to remove all immature,
malicious, and otherwise deprived and evil users, removing the Disagree button would seem to be a much easier solution to the problem, don't you think? :)

Completely agree with Uncle John and farmerjohn. I thought the 'agree' button to be quite useful too. The only complaints I have read were about the 'disagree' button which indeed is completely disfunctional and the 'Flag' button which is being misused by too many people.
