Hey Farmers! As always please feel free to post any questions regarding this new event in here. Time to find out who's been naughty or nice=)

    -Stan
I am so disappointed with this!  I try to donate to my list and my game freezes.  I try to help others and my game freezes.  I try to talk with my co-op members and my game won't post!  I am so disgusted I want to quit!  This game has become a job and not much fun now.  Especially with this Santa event!  How much more outrageous is it really going to get?  I can't take much more of this.
  • If some of the members do not complete their list (even with the help of others) - does EVERYONE have to redo the SAME week 1 list, or a new one?

Yes the group must do first step again. Not just the 1 member not done. All started lists must be 100% for group to move to next level.

RunsWivScissors (GB  true, i am trying to explain this in my coop, that we MUST skip this week, because it is not by update affected. no chance do it 100% next week with the same rules, if we won´t be able finish it this week.
it is good, that for some players items, that cannot be buyed (honey) turn into items, which you can buy (essence)

Only trying to help: If you have started and CAN NOT finish - ask if you can leave the coop and then just rejoin. You will be at 0 and you will keep your happiness
This isn't a solution. No one in a coop should feel like they should leave because of this event.

This is truly, and totally, the fault of GGS and whoever thought that this would be a way to bring coops together during the holidays. Like I said before in my first post, finding ornaments around the farm and getting a Christmas tree was enough. It was a very widely accepted way to celebrate the arrival of the season and there was no reason to change it.

Instead, we're sitting here discussing how to deal with inactive members because of this horrendous event? People that were valued members of a team that decided that this time, they're going to actually enjoy their lives outside this game during Thanksgiving no doubt. I'm not booting a single person from my team if they choose being part of their family and friends' lives. We shouldn't be condemning them for this measly decoration. It's not worth the work. I agree that the game itself is becoming demanding. Now I see my own coop members coming on here and saying they're going to quit the game.

Thanks GGS. Way to completely mess up the coop dynamic. This event has brought the worst of what is supposed to be a time of togetherness.
  • So ...I don't know whose idea was it to ask the same items for our coop ... It's horrible ... I barely managed to fill that list for myself and all those items are gone from my barns, and  not possible to produce in 24h

Horrible event, horrible waste of time and resources.

Goals are impossible for too many players and rewards are still a joke.

I don't want to bash on anyone on this forum, this is my opinion only about the event.

I donated all my extra resources to the list so it would raise happiness, which it did for laughable amount, and now I find that all those items are needed today ... that is just evil.

In this game, Sunday began about an hour ago, so I started donating what I could to my fellow co-op members. In the process I learned something that makes this event a true disaster. Here's what I discovered. Irrespective of what seven items a player is required to provide to complete an order, when I donate to that player I am required to provide the same seven items that I provided to complete MY order. For example, my first item was dandelions. Let's say that the first person I donated to needed to provide eggs as his/her first item, but was unable to provide enough of them. When I donate to that person, I must donate ONLY dandelions in place of those eggs. Of course, my stock of dandelions is quite low since I used them all up completing my own order. The same is true for each of the other six items. As a result, I couldn't be as much help as I would have been if the items that I could donate were different from those that I was required to provide for my own order. The bottom line is that seven items were completely eliminated from my barns, and some of those require many days to replenish. A snowball in hell has a better chance of survival than my co-op has of completing everyone's orders in one day. I doubt that it can be done in a week. Try again, GGS, but do it at a less busy time of the year!

The whole co-op will work again on game step 1, which is the first visual deco upgrade, but presumably the orders will be different.
  • how do we help our fellow members reach their goal on santa list? It shows what they need however i can only donate the items on my list. It's rediculas to expect me to have to donate my same items when they only need say 20 apple pie yet i have to donate 4000 almonds? This is the worst competition ever. As leader i want to tell my members not to bother because it's completely unfair. It's hard enough to fill my list let alone inorder to help my members i basically have to do my order 16 more times? Wow soooooo unrealistic.

  • See it from the bright side. Next week you know that if a person has an order he can not finish at the bottom spot and you have a dung mission with your orders on that same spot, tell that person that he doesn't need to do something to that order as you can fill it with dung on the last sunday.

Why do people immediately  assume the worst with this event? If you talk to each other and do it like i told you it is an easy event.
I do so appreciate your optimism Pinjo, there is not a bright side to this seriously flawed event. The cost and time with this event out weighs the rewards and fun. :-(

you are putting it very politely.

i am lvl 156, i want to help a lvl 13 with his order of wild flowers, and i have to donate for that lamb's lettuce? donate ~ 8200 lamb lettuce JUST for ONE player? <beep> that !

    GGS!
do NOT even try to tell us that you told us NOT to start it if we don't know that we will end it !

    1. you did NOT tell us that we will have to donate lamb lettuce instead of wild flowers!

    2. there is NO way for a player to reset that to 0, except from quitting the coop and rejoining, and by that resetting all the donations. and that WILL BE FOR NOTHING ! if just 1 player does not agree to leave and rejoin because he / she can't fulfill the order

    3. there ARE people that start it in good faith, then real world events make them not be able to fulfill a quota in a game.

    my conclusion:
this event is for no-life coops only. the rest of us either start kicking 60-75% of the coop members or say  "<beep> your event ! "
this event is not for bringing together the coop, is for dividing it.
hopefully everyone in my coop will agree with me and say "<beep> your event ! "

GGS, i regret i recently bought your gold. what you did was a <beep> move, i will NOT buy your gold from now on. i have to consider even quitting the game if you keep up with this kind of <beep>

-you have imagination, you can fill the beeps yourself-
  • @MISSMOO22 (US1)  Its based on % , if they only have 20% left to donate for their 3rd item, then you would need to donate 20% of whatever your 3rd item is.

I don't think any game should require that people choose between a game and life - friends, family, pets, hobbies, etc. Especially at any Holiday time. Yet, a lot of people yield their lives, even if they don't publicly admit to doing so, for the sake of a virtual world.

It still amazes me that people really believed this event would be better because ggs announced they would make "slight" changes. Just seeing that word, slight, I knew this would not be enough to rectify this trainwreck of an event. Yet, many players chose to jump into this event after the changes even knowing improvements were minimal at best. When there is so little hope in the world, so many put hope in a company that is about greed.

Fortunately, most co-ops are not requiring their members to participate in this event. Yet, there are still so many questions, and too many people wondering if they should leave their co-ops, or kick out members?

So, what will the second week be like? The third week? Fourth Week? Christmas week? I think the frustration of this event affects even those of us that are not even participating in the event. I see a lot of questions in chat that can't be answered by those not joining in the travesty. I'm definitely not about to click on the tree - I have NO trust in ggs, tho I wish I could answer questions. But I didn't cause this big problem and I won't be made to feel guilty about my choice to abstain completely from this FUN, other than to observe and share my thoughts.

I think it is so sad that ggs is clueless about the negative impact of their latest implementation. But I am not surprised. There are enough people that are completely thrilled by this event that ggs is sure to do it again. Maybe it will be like the co-op challenge and we will get to do it every other month. Then it will replace the hard worker event, so it will occur whenever there is no co-op challenge. I think there are not enough voices opposed to the event.

very unhappy with the Sunday help day.  I needed outrages amounts of fruit cream, peaches and pasta gift baskets, and guess what, when the sunday comes around, the only items the game allows me to donate to help other is...... you guessed it,  peaches, fruit cream and pasta baskets.

So I ask you, if I can't even fill my own order, how the he double hockey sticks do you expect me to have extra stuff to help others out?????

I have the same problem...I had to empty my barn of fruit cake in order to complete my list, so where am I supposed to find thousands more to help anyone else? I also donated all my duck feed by accident at the beginning of the week because the maximum on the donate button didn't work as I expected it to. I now can't help anyone else out. All of my co-op are in the same boat and no-one can help anyone very much. If I could donate the things they have on their lists it would actually work.

Yes, this is crazy.  So I have this situation where most members don't want to contribute in week 2, because everyone does better if they don't participate.  This is total madness.  The way you fix this is to make easier by about a factor of five.  Divide the amounts requested by 5.  Yes, that is a lot.  And, yes, a select few will find it too easy, but then everyone will be able to participate.  And after all, it is Christmas.

And yes, you do lose the contribution toward happiness of anyone who leaves the coop.

Now that we've all learned our lesson and know to stay the h%ll out of this event for the next 4 weeks, it's up to BigFarm to do the right thing and give everybody a free pass on the first week.
  • It was written few times that you will probably have to fill other item instead of missing one on someone's list. Also, why do you, guys, say 'so I have to donate 20000 apples' or so, no, it is not just YOU it is ALL OF YOU can help to one player, so everyone can donate some percent of different item (what was on your own list).

There were comments from some players that really enjoyed and some even loved this event. And I bet enough money was spent, gold purchased and used, to try to complete the lists that this event will be around again.

I think even people that didn't participate, helped out with gifts from the twins. Enough to make a difference.

I was NOT one of them.

everyone in my coop got apple pie or fruit cake or both - so everyone is missing the same items. This is what I pointed out ten pages ago, bakery products are huge issue - you can't buy them, they take a long time to produce and take a lot of basic products (which most of us also had on santa's list) so players who are lower level just can't fulfill the contract.

  • To help others, you have to donate EXACTLY THE SAME ITEMS YOU GOT ASKED FOR before. Since I can't fullfill half of them to completion myself, we are all ****ed.

Oh i'm glad i'm alone in my own co'op....... No need to help anyone.
And NO need to do event at all
  • At the risk of being shouted at, I think that now we know how the event works, its really not too bad. Some people had an awful 1st order, so the fact that now all the incomplete orders are those same items, is obviously going to be annoying for you. On top of that, the 1st week amounts were too high & that is adding to the problem.

BUT think about it, the way it has been done could actually be helpful in some cases. I am lucky that my order was fairly reasonable items & amounts with just 2 exceptions (37,010 eggs & 5080 fruit cakes) which means I have been able to go through all our incomplete orders & fill the other 5 items for most of them, in the 1st hour. For the 2 items that are slower for me, they could be faster for some of the other helpers, depending on their original orders, so with enough variation in the coop, it looks like we should be able to complete all of ours.

Remember that due to the hotfix, we are not going to have another week as difficult as this one has been & we have been told that we can fail one week & still reach the final deco, so if your coop has an impossible combination of items & amounts this week, just do the best you can to add as much happiness as possible then chalk it up to experience and  put what you have learned into making sure you succeed in all the following weeks. We now also know as soon as we see our own orders which items we need to collect for the whole week, even when our order is 100%, because we will need those same items on sunday.

Where do you have read that?  (link, ty)

If it's the text in the announcement you refer to, I'm very afraid you maybe have read this part with a little too optimistic eyes:
    • Overall difficulty of upcoming event steps has been decreased slightly; overlapping requirements for different list items have been reduced to a minimum to further equalize (and reduce) the difficulty for all players
As I read it, that can means everything between:
    a) Step 2 would be a little bit easier than step 1, because they could not do any change in step 1.
    to:
    b) Step 2 will be a tiny bit easier than the first designed step 2, understood at that way, if they first have make step 2 to be 25% harder than step 1, step 2 now "only" will be 20% harder than step 1.

Sorry to say it, but I think (b) is the way to read that part of the announcement, because I have by sad experience learned to read the, with honeyed golden promise filled announcements, with much skepticism
  • I read it the same as RWS does, upcoming steps will be easier each.
  • I have so far enjoyed most of the events.  we have a good coop.  some of us play hard and often.  There are others that play regularly for short period.  there are others that play at times for a good duration and then of course we have others hat there is no way to tell what they will do  on any given day.  But the one thing you can know is that an American is going to do something special for Thanksgiving.  So, you propose an event that is not a common goal for all and call it a coop event..  Then you expect the more diligent players to fill a corn order with wheat?  or an apple pie order with cream cake. What in the world?. you are demanding that we demand the impossible from every member or kick them or tell them to sit in a corner.  What in the world are you thinking.  Then on top of everything you launch it at the beginning of a Major holiday. People traveling thousands of miles, cooking for hours on end.  Trying to visit with family  but the only way to do well is to skip that for a game.  OH but wait.  that is only true for one server.  The US server.  what most of us consider a 4 day weekend ends up choosing to leave your coop in a lurch or just become the family @#$#@!  I filled my order and tried to get  ready to donate for other because our participation was exactly what any american would guess.  , but within 20 minutes, 2 days of work was shot and who  knows how much money and if i don't provide thousands of cream cakes and thousands of wheat what i did contribute is wasted.  I stressed all holiday trying to have a holiday and play my game  both.  There are no words for how angry i am right now. and all the while the game is so bugged that to type you have to use one browser and to play use another and with little to no instructions to even understand what we were trying to do.  .  I hope someone in your world subjects you to such fun!  careful.  You are going to be having fun on a playerless game.  I have some gold in my account but until I some indication that the creators give a rats rear end about our game experience there will be no more. gold purchased.  I like my games but I will not be a member of a cutthroat rabid coop.  I will not sacrifice one more minute that should be with family. DEBUG>.  Check the cultural atmosphere when you open a server and get real.

What happens if a player of a particular co-operative leaves his/her co-op and shifts to
another? Suppose a player leaves his co-op after week 1 and joins another one, now the question is will that player get the decoration happiness achieved by the other
co-op or he/she will have zero happiness after joining there ?
  • AFAIK you get the deco with happiness level of your current coop -  happiness you achieved in previous coop does not transfer when you leave
  • If you join a different co op, previous one loses your points, you start over in new co op.
  • Mad Bunny (IN1)Mad Bunny (IN1) IN1 Posts: 1,585
that I know but will the player get the happiness of the new co-op which he/she has joined recently without participating in the new co-op's 1 week ?

All in the co op get the achieved decor. Your decor happiness will be based on your level. Then upgraded with Landscaper Greta if you wish. So watch the star on tree in Santa window to see what level yours will be as you progress in the following weeks.

  • I like the idea of this event. But what I'm noticing is that when you try to help on sunday, you can only donate what your order was to make up for, say if a person is a lower level than you. I understand this, but if we are having difficulty fulfiilling our own order, how is this going to help the coop? Maybe if a lower level has to donate milk, we can too, but in a larger amt to compensate somehow? could be difficult due to all other levels with trying to donate, but thats one thing I don't like.
