  • Why can't we drop the 100% requirement and just make this a co-op event where we all contribute toward orders to get a decor whose value that depends on how much the group contributed.

mrg1 - in our coop i have a plan (not mine, written there in this thread) that on sunday stay in coop only 100% or 0% and the others leave and rejoin. this should give us new orders and higher deco.
Yes, I know this is an option, but 2 of the players have not even logged in since their first contribution, so that would mean I would have to boot them out, explain it all in a note and hope they understand and re-join the coop. Definitely not inspiring team spirit. I just don't think it is worth all that nonsense for a 7X7 deco worth probably not much happiness.

Wow are we jumping to conclusions about this, we did not even see what will happen on sunday. It might be that all the active players easily fill the orders that are not filled 100%, then there is no need to kick these player.

Let's just wait until sunday and then you can decide (as a coop) what to do.

Not jumping to conclusions, I have said we will wait and see if we can finish everyone's order. But it is unlikely IMO as one player is at 3% and another at 10% while most are in the 30%-50% range. And I also said I don't think the deco is worth removing members too.
  • If a member who has started the Santa event leaves the co-op, does that prevent the co-op from finishing that week and moving on?
No, it should remove their unfinished order. In fact is someone has only done like 1% its probably better tohave them leave & rejoin...... Its does also remove any happiness they added, which might be a consideration if they have donated a lot.
  • If I participate in week 1, but not in week 2, can I help others on second sunday?

  • Not helpful to the casual player that is for sure :(  Dropped out of my co op so as not to be a burden.  Thanks for making the game really crappy good game
  • I think this was a step in the right direction for GGS.  In order for this event to be fun, and indeed foster cooperation with your team, the day 7 orders shouldn't be changed.  In addition, the donation levels need to be toned down more to be enjoyable and reasonable given all the other activities to come and the time of year.  Happy Thanksgiving!
  • Thank you for information CM Popeye.  I still don't have the 50,000+ overage taken through the "bug" in dung and is still missing when will GGS return that?  The entire amounts should be for the WHOLE 5 weeks, not weekly.  People have jobs, family, and Christmas gifts to shop for.   I am not sure I see any change except for the items being donated are new given money like selling through management prices.

Further, it is still impossible to complete 2,710 peaches while making 4,800 fruit cakes in a week.  I have to give away ALL my peaches to Santa's wish list to POSSIBLY complete it.  Peaches come every 14 hours (600 twice a day).  And since all my peaches are given away I can't make 4,800 fruit cake, baking them 10 times requiring over 5,000 peaches to bake that I won't have if all my peaches went to the event.

Further, 5,510 lambs lettuce takes 7 hours to grow in 4 fields at 804 harvest with humus, and does not allow me to use the fields for making food for the many other animals.  If I grow them around the clock for the week, I just might make it but wont be making food for the other animals.

Why would anyone want to try an impossible and unreasonable event when they could grow what they want and sell through management if they wanted?  It's not worth the enormous hard work and depletion of vital farm items and income through contracts.

It's still not reasonable and until my dung that was stolen is still not returned after the "bug fix."

    2) For the number 17.775 on the star on the tree top, when I put my cursor over it, it says Happiness Value Determined By Player Level.  Is this the Happiness from my individual contributions for this week or the happiness from our whole Co-op for the Deco so far?

In our co-op we're wondering the same thing. It would be good to have an answer to this @CM Nafaru @CM Latten Interpreting this:
    • On top of this progress meter, you can find your personal happiness indicator. This indicator shows the happiness value your final reward decoration will get and which quality level it will hold.

    • Happiness scales according to player level. In case of a level-up, happiness of the event decoration will be recalculated and increased accordingly.

    • As soon as all members' orders are fulfilled, more goods can be added, to further improve the decoration.

it makes me think every order the co-op fulfills AND the extra donations as a co-op make the quality (1/7) and with the base hapiness while on a personal level the amount in the star determines the final happiness value also determined by what you personally donated extra to the event.

I would like to see a confirmation/correction on this though, to be sure.

    Thanks!

@KimmieCat (INT1) I need to correct myself at one point. :)

As soon as all members' orders are fulfilled, more goods can be added, to further improve the decoration.
This instruction is misleading indeed in relation to previous "max" function. :) It implies that overfilling should not happen before all orders are 100 %. I don't think this is what was misleading in your case, otherwise you would have pointed to it. But just to be fair, yes, they did make a mistake here. :)

This really could have been a nice team event with everyone working towards a common goal, but it has had the opposite effect on some. After realizing the enormity of the event on the first day, several members have contributed little to nothing, (others have not logged back since the first donations)...It has been suggested to get them to leave the coop so the rest of us get our deco. So much for team spirit.!

    BAH HUMBUG GreedyGreedySanta.

I DID NOT suggest that you boot them out FOR EVER.   All you have to do is get them to leave then reinstate them IMMEDIATELY.  No one needs to be booted out for good.  I think the members who have not contributed to the event after their initial donation do not have as much of the team spirit as other members of your coop.

In a nutshell - no, sorry.  You have to participate during the week in order to help on the Sunday.  But if you have any gifts from the Naughty and Nice twins that helps others, just ask around in your coop as to who needs sparkles and where.
  • thanks @bdreish (GB1)  for your answer ... guessed as much but wanted to be sure
  • Is there a breakdown of the tree somewhere?  The # at the top says happiness value determined by player lvl but everyone in the coop has the same # currently 39,695 with a 1/7 quality under it.

  • There's no breakdown yet, which is why both Craftycritters and myself asked for further explanation/confirmation/correction on this precise subject but it hasn't been given yet unfortunately.

@bdreish (GB1)  I know that they do not need to leave forever. I am merely pointing out that asking someone to leave (even temporarily) because they won't be able to finish is not really very team-friendly. It is team-friendly of them  if they choose to leave, but if the leader has to remove them it is exactly the opposite of team spirit. And for the record, you were not the only one who has suggested this. I did not point a finger at you, and I understand your point.
  • I was duped AGAIN - twice in the same event must mean it's my own fault ... after getting a little bit of money back, I thought the promised changes from the official announcement had been made and donated lots more expensive stuff. THEN I checked the numbers and realised that mine have NOT been adjusted. There's no way I can make 40.000 apples and 4.000 peaches and 4.000 muffins and 3.000 fruitcakes etc etc.

Will there be another adjustment after all, or am I just very unlucky?

Also, it doesn't make a difference to happiness when I add 2000 or 200 of a product ATM.

While I appreciate the compensation, there are still many unintended consequences to the Wish List.  One example--At level 121, I had to donate 1980 honey cream.  A co-op member at level 93 has to contribute 3320.

    No further comment.

  • The adjustment that was announced, is for the next order, as in next week. Not this week.

Lets hope they read this thread and decide to help you and your coop by leaving and rejoining ;).  Wishing you Good Luck in the event, and hope that the changes will help you in future weeks.
  • Does anyone know who the 7th day will work?  how will we be able to "donate" to others ?
Also wondering what would be best -  opinions please - is it better to help everyone even though we can't get everyone to 100% or work to get those we can to 100% and not help those we can't get to 100%.  Wondering what would be the best way to use resources to help theirs

Thanks for answer to question of 7th day and insight on how to help others fill orders.

    thanks
  • Ok so if someone leaves or is removed but had started an order does this count as a failed open order at the end of the week?  Don't want to hurt the coop either way.   1% done and going orange for a lower lvl member is going to be a very hard order for the rest of the coop to make up come Sunday.  At the same time taking in a new member who you don't really know and having them decide they got a better offer and leave, does that hurt the coo?

I have donated oved 70% of the items myself and realize that this event is lije the temp farms, not money wise but product wise. I am donating my products for what, I nice deco that ultimately will not be used very much and having to produce products continuously does not allow me to make any money, not only for 1 week but for 5 weeks, AS OF NOW I AM NOT DOING ANYTHING MORE. I need to have my farm grow and make money.

    thanks

My understanding is that on Sunday anyone who has taken part in the challenge by donating(now selling items) will be able to click on another players list to see what it will take to complete the list.  It may not be the same item that needs to be donated, nor will it be the same amount required.  It will depend upon players levels what will be required.

For example a level 40 player needs 1,000 apples so a level 150 player will need to donate 2,000 fruitcakes to complete.
Or, a level 95 player need 500 olives and a level 35 player will need to donate 800 eggs.
Note: I am just guessing the actual amounts as math is not my forte.  ; - )

Anyone please correct me if I am wrong.

As to the changes they certainly help.
My complaint would be that they came to late.
I thought I was smart not to start the dang thing and now with the changes they have removed my main reason for not doing the challenge.  The financial loss due to the donations of a staggering amount of items such as 3,000 fruitcakes.

I kind of feel like I am being punished for not doing it cause now I look like the Scrooge of my co-op.

    So thanks for that.  ; - )

  • The Max button for the Santa's list items has been fixed for some time now.  It only goes to the max of the amount requested and then gives you a warning and asks if you want to add more.
  • Being a coop event, I felt pressured to participate, and though I've done 50%, there is only 5 of 35 members who are doing it. What are the chances of our coop receiving any prize? Seriously, no prize is worth the loss of resources/dollars and time consumed to complete the extreme amounts of an order on Santa's list. As is, this event defeats me, I can't afford  the time and any more losses so I can't continue. It's really too bad.

GGS, please if possible, could you create another alternate Christmas event to compensate and allow for better success and so I'll have a holiday item from this game to show?

  • I have read every post in this thread and agreed with most of them. However, I do not agree with removing Co-op Players who have not completed all or most of their orders and then bringing them right back into the Co-op.  To me it says that their efforts were not “good enough”, or “appreciated”.

I have a GREAT TEAM in my Co-op now. We will work together as a TEAM and do what we can, win or lose! It’s all fun! Many are working to improve their production costs after some training and it’s really fun to watch and help them. They have really worked hard and rallied when needed with our recent projects. I value all of their efforts.

I know that this is a game strategy and it is up to you what you do of course.  But, please think about what you are saying to your Co-op players who did make an effort? This is a big Holiday-Thanksgiving Week here in the USA and we are all learning about the event, even GGS. Home schedules are crazy, bad weather, and many illnesses are around too. Steffi even said that all Co-ops had one week to “fail” to get to the next Deco.  I consider this our “learning” week.  All happiness points count from all players no matter if they do, a little or a lot. I feel that we should value that and not throw their efforts in the garbage.  I value all my player’s efforts and will keep them all in our Co-op!  We will do our best this week and we will do even better next week!

It’s really too bad that they could not have lowered the amounts of items in our lists for our week 1 lists and then have any overages already done go to extra happiness points. I am very concerned about the statement that they will only be adjusted “slightly”.  Come on, It’s Christmas, it should be reasonable amounts to make with all the other things we have to do this time of year.  If it’s too stressful, players will just leave!  I would hope that EVERYONE could WIN EVERYTHING in this event!!!

All in all GGS did do a pretty good and speedy job of trying to make this right in a very short period of time, even paying us retroactively for what we had done. Now if the numbers are reduced further for week 2, then I think we have a fun Co-op event!!  I thank everyone who wrote posts, the CM’s and programmers for helping to make this better! We are going to have fun with it!

  • @Craftycritters (US1)  If you had a member that accidentally started their order before knowing how the event worked & has only got 1 or 2% done, I think they would feel far worse being responsible for the coop failing to move on to step 2 than they would by leaving & rejoining the coop to save the other membes from having to try & do 99% of their order in one day, on top of any other orders that need finishing off. Since the hotfix they will now have been paid for the items that they donated & the amount of happiness earned by their donation would be negligible, so don`t you think that they would be giving a far better contribution to the team by getting their order reset?
