Love your little poem Scissors! :-)
I love the snow, but burrrrrr... those workers better get some jackets, mittens, scarves and hats on! My Market needs a winter roof too. LOL
*** Re: White Snow Glare On most keyboards there are 2 keys above the #2 and #3, called function keys. Labeled F2 and F3. F2, pressed repeatedly will dim your screen a little with each press, F3 will make it brighter. Toning it down a little should help with any eye problems. :-)

***Some on the EN forum complained about the glare from the white snow. If it bothers you, use your function keys above your #2 and #3 on your keyboard. Pressing the F2 key repeatedly will dim your screen, F3 will make it brighter. Hope that helps! :-)
I like the idea and I'm happy many players will enjoy this update, but I would have appreciated being given the option to choose. Like others have mentioned, it's very harsh on my eyes. I'm still recovering from hunting those pesky pumpkins and don't think I'll be playing as often if you guys expect me to stare at glaring white farm environment.
I have also adjusted the brightness on my monitor but it hasn't helped enough.
I've got the new video system. I viewed one video and than got:
- Replay button AND
- The text: Click here for more information (in Dutch) with a link that led to the site of the company (miss Etam) that was in the video.
Only then did I get the reward page. What the heck?! I need to watch the video AND go to the site of that video and ONLY than I get a reward? As for the rest, I like the snow. I've gotten the free background, which I like
Still waiting for the events and the presents that were announced in the newspaper.
Will we no longer get a choice of which rewards we would like? And also, we shouldnt lose bonus points from the market for not getting there immediately when we are tied up watching videos. And it would help if we could play the videos over to the side and still be able to work our farms while they play and not have them block the majority of the screen. I do like it moved to the library. And also, snow doesnt appear in patches, it disappears in patches so why dont we have a full blanket of snow? I think that would be FAR less distracting
Finaly a Suprise Box comes to you - look for it in your dropbox.
so CHEAP prizes - I got the whole $5,000 farm dollars
wow!
can you imagine !
I love the snow, too. The workers do need some warmer clothes. Could Frida paint some sleds on a mountain for a non-gold winter backdrop option? I like the free one. I don't care for the colors in the other winter backdrop; too much pink.
Other than that it's alright, and thank you for the free background.
And p.s. I don't see the couch everyone has been talking about for a long while now, I didn't see it when it was in its old place nor do I see it now. ;o Maybe the testing phase means not everyone gets ads and those that don't, don't have the "movie" assets on their farms at all? It would be cool to know just to make sure it's not bugged but a decision on their end to exclude me and some others from the current testing phase. ^-^/ [edit: based on like, some factors or something I don't know how that stuff works nor do I care, I just enjoy clarity and knowing if something's bugged or not. XD]
The new position of the video screen is awkward at best. Especially given how many people aren't getting the videos. Why was it removed from event parking?
Some information and tips for people who have problems with screen glare
The human eye are not build for looking into lights. Before tv's and computers invade our homes, we normaly not looking directly into light giving things like light bulbs, fire and so on in longer time... and we all know looking directly into the sun will damage our eyes!
- Our eyes are build for looking at things that reflects the sunlight, that why it's much harder to your eyes to read text on a white tv- or computerscreen, than read a text in a newspaper or a magazine.
What can we do about it?
Well, 1'st tips is already given by several other players.
Here comes tip no.2.:
If you are sitting with your computer in a totaly dark room, where the only light comes from you computerscreen, that's very hard to your eyes, speciality when there is lot of white on the screen.
Always have some light in your computer room.
Beside me, I have a floor lamp of the type that throws light at the ceiling, and the lamp's brightness is adjustable - Now we get the winter landscape on our farms, I have turned up a little for my lamp brightness, and dimmed my screen light a little.. and that helps me.
Also try searching for other solutions, if you computer screen glare.
Here is 2 links to sites that you maybe will find worth to read:

Edit added one more tip:
People whith advanced knowledge to photography know the luminosity from lights falling square of the distance, and when I in my young days get driver license, my driver teacher also told us about that (relavant for the cars low beam and high beam)
Also when you looking at a screen (tv or computer screen that rules applies!
- just take a big tv screen, 40" inches ot bigger.. I don't think many people sit 40 centimeters from a 40" (or bigger) tv.. and they have not the same glare problem with the tv as with the computer screen.
In other and shorter words: If possible... If yoy have your syes to close to you computer screen, maybe (if possible) you should moves you further away from your computer screen.
.... I would like entire farms, full of snow.... I miss snow for long time
The rewards are small but if the commercials are kept short they do add up as a nice little perk.
10 boxes = 55 gold, 24,000 dollars, 50 landscaper parts, 10 greenhouse humus.
Update: ended up with 7 more gifts before I reached limit and only 1 video came up with the sorry message. Logged out, cleared cache and the rest played fine.
Windows 10, Chrome, adblock plus with all cookies enabled for ggs, avast online with all enabled for ggs.
Seriously? And why are there people on here complaining about their prizes?
A co-op member of mine said he got 3 humus today. What I wouldn't give for 3 free humus right about now collecting this cabbage...grrr.....
When does testing END????????
This is what it looks like:
Loving the new snowy environment
And I agree with @RunsWivScissors (GB1) (loving your witty poem btw
Maybe that's why Omar just now sell the 2014 xmas tree?
I applaud the effort. I would prefer to have snow on the ground all around the farm, but not within the perimeter. It changes the look quite a lot. And a lot of people spend a lot of time and money achieving a certain "look" and then it is wiped away or altered by all the white. That seems particularly insensitive. I have not spent money changing the look, but I have placed things in a certain way over time - slowly and methodically. And now I have no idea how to plan for the future in terms of my farm's appearance - until the snow is gone. So for me the snow has significantly greater downside the upside. I can no longer be certain which decos that I want to work extra hard to win, etc. So, while it does not change the game in a technical way, it does change the underlying motivations of players, which changes the game. And, it does effect GGS, because there were decos that I wanted to spend gold to win, but now I am no longer certain, so I probably would spend (and thus buy) that gold.
So, snow around the perimeter of the farm = Great! Snow inside the farm's fence = Very, Very Bad.
