brick wall hits head against, not gonna moan cos ggs don't listen and I really don't think they care much about the views of the players who pay their bills

People should just boycott CC a few times Not even buy gold just farm for free for couple of months GGS would notice then but that will never happen This so called game would take more hours than a paid full time job if you wanted to do well in everything Winning everything to a few £1000s to skip everything buy candy rp xp seaweed collectables token decor part deals Prob missed some out to

The problem is that a lot players don,t play the C-C not as they did in the past when it was a Special event that came along 1 time every 2 months.
Now it is a event like the other events,Nothing special anymore.
The horse season starts now after 5 days after ending the last season.
The island starts also short after the other ended

I do my thing and try to rack up 1 million Rp-Points for my Coop. But i won,t play a allnighter anymore or buy gold for this C-C because it seems a never ending story
It is all to much and in the coop are members also thinking of stopping the game.
When you have a cow you can milk it every day.But when you kill the cow you have a full belly but after 1 week you are hungry again. Not the most intelligent system of doing buisness what GGS is doing now.

If people are tired of doing the Challenge every couple of weeks, there's a simple solution - just don't do it.  My co-op took a vote and decided we wouldn't take part in every Challenge.  We do it every few months, which gives us time to replenish our special seeds and humus, and build our farms in between.  Then when the next Challenge comes along that we are taking part in, we have fun with it because we aren't burned out from trying to do it every time.  This approach is working well for us.
  • I agree with you who loved coop challange when it game but not anymore. Too often is too much!  Our coop made decision ignore it and not use any gold for compettions.  I feel pity that event that was really binding one to coop has changed to one that most of us feel exhausting.
If I try to find something positive it is that more coops can get apple- and cherry orchards :)
  • Our coop did the same as Pingo's, we voted to do it every 3 months. Some people like doing missions & still play them during the challenge & we run the cash boosters for them, so far its working ok for us.

Agree with Pingo and Scissors.  One thing would be if GGS would change the prizes to entice people to play more!  However, I am finding that even commenting and making suggestions to GGS about this co-op challenge does not make any difference at all.  :/
  • Perhaps it is time to vote with our wallets. If enough of us decide not to  buy gold during the challenge  they might decide it isn't a good thing to do it so often.

Our co-op championship mode has been the same for some time.  Play missions.  You don't have to win them, but qualify.  You get a bunch of stuff that helps lower level players, and no one really stresses out.  I had over 5 million rep the first time... and 3 million the next two... I doubt all the ones since add to 3 million....

This is exactly what we do.  Get what we rewards we can without stress.  They really help the smaller farms.  And over time, our total has dropped by about two-thirds, thanks in large part to the frequency.

We really need to hear from GGS on this.  Several months ago, there was a lot of back-and-forth about the lack of communication from GGS, with the implicit promise that communication would improve.  Instead, it has waned further still.

    Hey everyone,

we have forwarded your continuous feedback about the frequency of the cooperative championships and the powers that be have confirmed that we will tone down the frequency at least until the end of the year, since a lot of other stuff will happen anyway and we all know you will be in Christmas spirit most of December. :)

Furthermore we will think about new rewards for the championship format in order to add more variation to potential prizes from the event. Old rewards will most probably remain available, just as with recent themed events that received a reward overhaul.

    Good news? :smirk:

I realize you are trying, Steffi, but your language doesn't generate in me the same response as in bdreish.

TPTB have said they will tone down the frequency until the end of the year (at least).  Because there is a lot of other things going on anyway.  This sounds like, they are still planning to run the Championship as much as possible, but they just happen to have other stuff planned.  At least until the end of the year.  So that's what... Two months?  The Championship has been running roughly every two weeks? give or take.  So  instead of 5 we'll get what? 3 or 4? in 2 months?  And not because of the complaints... because of the schedule?  Its not really news at all, good or bad.  Its the same ole same ole.

edit> I'll admit the 'thinking' about changing the prize structure for the Championship could be a good thing.  But it affects a really small number of users that in so far as importance... there are probably other things to think about first.

Not really... the freuquency is only a small problem. It's also the unbalanced competition that bores ppl out. On the dutch server ... top prices to the 3 same coops Always as they have more then double the members of other coops. If you could balance this u would get a real comppetition. Now it's a soccer game 22 against 3 for the smaller coops... . If you would at least give them a fair chance of winning I guess gold use would increase more. Change of rewards  I am against...  Like said it's the same coop that Always wins. The same old price might bore them out and let other players win it.

  • It is not written in stone that you HAVE to take part in the challenge.  It only becomes a chore if you play it, just have a break from it :)

There's no way the game can be balanced as long as the reputation point buying/boosting hot deal exists. You have non golders, casual gold buyers, and then the win at all costs obsessive gold buyers and many people have grown sick and tired of this competition because all your hard work in missions can be undone when the 250% booster is purchased. In this case coop numbers are irrelevant, for example a coop with 10 people buying that hot deal can easily wipe out a coop of 30 that didnt....250% is a huge advantage.

My main gripe is still the final rewards and some of the stage rewards. Unless GGS are giving us more farm plots to buy in the future then whats the point of bombarding us coop orchard after coop orchard. In theory most would assume the winning group would stop participating once there was no room left for these orchards but that simply isn't the case.....its that obsession with wanting to be number one that drives these teams to continually shut out the others and I dont see that changing any time soon.....and seriously, 1 truck collectible as a reward towards the end? Genius!  *rolls eyes*

Indeed gold gives you an extra advantage... but that doesn't change anything to the fact that a coop of 10 doesn't have the same chance of winning. If the group of 30 also buys the hot deal then they are lost. As the baseline for both isn't equal. And I still believe if both would have the same chance of winning. Then both could buy hotdeals in order to get an advantage. Competition would be much harder as rankings would be closer to each other... since the competition would be harder you will probably buy a lot in order to stay on top (so even more profit for GGS).  So I think atm it's like a soccer game with 22 against 3 for example...  they should make it 11-11 and then the hot dealscan give you indeed an advantage....
  • Our co-op has decided not to encourage members to take part in the challenges any more. The  first few challenges  were a great way to rally the troops, build team morale and interact with each other in the process. However by the time challenge #6 came around the gameplay had become divisive and (sadly) a little too lifelike, with the richer co ops revelling in their ability to squash those whose members could not afford to spend hundreds of pounds on gold. Last challenge some of our members jumped in to help another coop to win against one of the 'goldfinger' crews. We'd won our cup and had agreed to stop there. This was interpreted by the goldfinger mob as cheating! Since then some of our members have had repeated attacks  by what are clearly alt farms. We can't prove anything but logic would suggest that this is an orchestrated attempt at payback.
So the question to GGS is what sort of values do you think this game is promoting? Yes, I know gameplay is gameplay but a lot of parents think that  a game based on something as pastoral as farming would be a lot less like a war game and so are happy to let their kids play.

Well said! The existence of the hot deal and getting bombarded constantly with this overhyped event is ruining the game for many players. I myself have been sent threatening messages for stating opinions about it in forums and have been trash talked during the event by the group that constantly buys their wins via the hot deal. Constant drama and bickering is very common during coop challenge weeks and frankly i'm beyond over it........players are leaving the game among many groups, and the others are leaving their obsessive groups and forming coops of their own. The most common headline among these new groups is "winning isnt everything, its just a game".....a pure sign to me that GGS are going way overboard with this event and promoting bad values especially to children that play this game.

Running the Co op Challenge once a month would nice. Give every one a chance to take a rest from the last one and save up for the next one. Our Co op does do the CC but not every time. They just come around too often. It has been suggested that maybe there could be two types of Co op Challenges, one as is and one that does not allow Gold use. This may and could give all Co ops a chance to play a bit more fairly!!
  • On AU server winners only had 29.5M rep points, you do not have to buy your win to get that.  All it takes is team work and for all members to do their bit.  I use 0 gold on missions, if I have some seaweed humus and feed I use it, but never buy it, I never have never will and I now have 6 co op apples.

So no coop on AU1 won the Trophy?

I sort of agree with you, I think you can win the trophy with just good teamwork, if you have enough members, but if you are saying you can get #1 coop on the server without spending lots of gold, thats certainly not the case on EN1, but it sounds like things are very different on AU1 if 29.5M is your #1 score.

on AU server we are all sick of CC and NO co op got the trophy, 2nd place was 12M behind.   Our co op has already decided not to do any until after Christmas.  But I am going to go to another co op to help them after a break next from CC.  Myself and a couple of others have promised a co op who has never won to help them out.

It is difficult because most co-ops are not being built with the challenge in mind.  You end up with a few players who will pay out for the 250% booster and use up their gold, special seeds and humus even if the co-op has agreed not to compete.  They love the challenge and it is fun for them.  But, you also have players who don't care and only will do the minimum amount of missions.  Add the rest who don't have the money to buy a ton of gold every month and/or have jobs which don't allow hours of play and you end up being lucky to be in the top 10 at the end of the challenge.
I have a co-op cherry orchard rotting away in storage that I will never use.  (Maybe ggs can set up a market for sale or trade of excess surplus.  Orchards, Cows, Pigs, etc.)
Will we stop playing challenge.  No. Why?  Because we keep getting new players who don't have a cherry orchard.
Do they come to often?  For me yes.  I don't buy the booster and I don't use a ton of gold to win missions which mean to get the points I need to do a ton of missions.  I also hate sitting on my cows for 2 or more hours waiting for a dung mission.

  • And co-op challange is starting again :(
I understood that GGS had agreed to listen the wish of many of us not to run it that often.  Did I get a wrong  idea about what Nafaru said about toning down frequency of the co-op chalange?

  • gizmo22 (AU1)gizmo22 (AU1) AU1 Posts: 1,720
Its obvious that GGS tells us what we want to hear at times but at the end of the day their business objective is to make money from gold sales and I seriously doubt the coop challenge will ever be toned down. The winning groups will continue to buy the hot deals (250% rep point booster) and until that stops this stupid event will probably appear every month. Its been done to death and many players including me are sick of it. Until rewards are changed to something decent I have little motivation to bother playing this event but continue to do it because i'm the coop leader.

We've already adjusted our event planning so that challenges will be less frequent in both Novemer & December. By the time of my initial post I unfortunately couldn't be more specific.

As always, it's up to you and your fellow cooperative members if you would like to take part in the challenge. It's definitely not mandatory for you to take part. ;)
