If I had to guess, I would say the price is probably based on happiness per square, how hard they are to obtain, and size. I posted some of the gumball machine prices here if you're curious about future prices. :)

thanks @jess_d for info + link to list With GGS bringing out new bigger decors, not wanting to spend to much on something that I might eventually have no space for Thanks to @Uncle John (GB1)

I've always assumed it was a non-linear scale based on happiness per square. I have some of my 5x5s up to 100 happiness and next point will cost nearly 1 million. They only work out at 4 points per square whereas your Gumball Machine is a massive 5 per square. That's a lot :¬)

Nice one, I have been working on one them 49s too, only up to 185 so far & still level 4. They are probably not the most economical ones to upgrade either, 2 5x5 ones that start at level 6 would be cheaper in the long run & only 1 square difference, but I like my Rune circle. :) ... Some of the new ones for specialist level 6 are looking good for upgrading.

As I like my oasis in the center (or near enough) of my farm lands.  Alas, of late I have been lax with actually building my decos, and I am loathe to dismantle them before the Exp is earned, so yes its taking awhile  :)

    -Y

edit>  My 110s (5x5s) cost 611 deco parts apiece to level up, and my Oasis is over that already, so yes.  So, efficient?  No...  But that's the point right?  We can pick and chose the ones we want.
  • Exactly!.... My rope lights are up to $3,763,032 (2509 parts) for next upgrade point & its still only level 5 with 20 upgrades to go.... Dread to think what the last point will cost haha .... But what else is fake money for apart from frivilous spending. :)

Haven't used a dime yet... saving that for when the parts just totally fail.  :)

  • With upgrading the decos since the Landscape Designer, what the lowest production cost that anyone has been able to get?   I'm at -93% on my 3 main farms, haven't really worked on it much lately though, but I will soon to make more room for other things again.

My production costs were -95% but when I dismantled all the decos except 2 trophies, 7 blue tractor and 3 scarecrows and used the deco parts on them, I saved a huge space but my running costs got down to -85%.

In general you should be able to upgrade every decoration to deco quality 6. If the next upgrade would increase the deco quality to 7, no more upgrade is possible as deco quality 7 does not exist at the moment.

Besides, we've already forwarded some feedback that you'd like to see what the maximum values could be for all decorations. We'll have to wait and see what the team thinks about this idea, but they definitely know you're eager to get as much info as possible through the interface.

Did the moment already passed for improving the maximum happiness per square? I have a decoration with the quality 7 and i can still improve it, look at the picture!! It must be maxed at 168 as that is 8 hps and you see it is already at 170 happiness.

Or did you improve the maximum hps without letting us know it?
  • Oh wow!! When did that happen?
Well spotted Pinjo I just checked my 2x2 decos and they are red level 7 now (instead of pink level 6) ..... So we can upgrade higher than 8 hps now?
Woohoo come back Greta!!! photo Spongebob_zpsba2a8721gif

I have a doubt on decos that the wild kite is level 6 deco . And the gumball machine is level 2 . But if i improve the gumball machine to the value of kite it doesnt get to level 6 . why is it ?
  • @Zuko (IN1)  I think it has to do with how much it costs per upgrade. I remember asking the same thing about the fairy tale towers, how you can upgrade a lower one to be the same size & happiness as the next one up & they will still have different values, but if you look at the cost of the next happiness point, the one with the higher value is cheaper to upgrade.

I have a gumball machine on 30 happiness that is now level 6 & the upgrade to 31 is $7,969,833... So thats gonna cost way more to get to the max 40 happiness (35 upgrades in all) than it was to do the Stone of light which started on 30 happiness & only needed 10 upgrades.

CM mentioned raised per square happiness limit not so long ago in one of the discussion thread with a bit detailed explanation. I think Greta with deco upgrades rates among the best add-ons to this game. Technically it means you can chose any deco you like based on it's size and looks and bring it to it's maximum value. Provided you are filthy rich, as this will cost you fortune in some cases.  :)
  • Can anyone tell me if there is a fixed happiness per square to reach decoration level 7 or does it vary?
    Thank you.

@tampoon (INT1)  It varies. The only deco that starts at level 7 (so far) is the Touring Theater, that is a 5x5 with 100 happiness, which is only 4hps & there are other decos higher than 4hps that are not level 7 - I have a 3x3 that is 60 happiness (6.6666 hps) which is still a level 6

It has something to do with how much the upgrades cost, I don` know exactly how its calculated, but if you have 2 5x5 decos with the same happiness & one is lower value, the lower one will cost you more to get it to the maximum. All we know for sure, is that the maximum is currently 10hps.

Thank you, scissors., and by what you said the level depends on the actual decoration then. e.g. I have the following:
Large waterfall, happiness 109, level 5
Sand palace, happiness 108, level 6

After getting three level 6 decorations from Santa's workshop, I am working out how to upgrade a decoration to level 7. Is the gumball machine the easiest way?

  • Kamilcom (GB1)Kamilcom (GB1) Posts: 1,499
It was posted somewhere I believe by CM that the level of deco is dependent on several factors, not just happiness value. Another factor mentioned I remember was the rarity of the deco or how easily you can get it. The more rare, the higher the level. So happiness value and level are not in simple direct corelation.

As to upgrade prices, I don't think anybody has done a systematic evaluation yet. I've only noticed a few posts about individual upgrade prices published by players. That would be another nice case study to make for diligent players. :)
  • After getting three level 6 decorations from Santa's workshop, I am working out how to upgrade a decoration to level 7. Is the gumball machine the easiest way?
I was going to say that the 3 2x2 decos from the tropicsl, viking & northern lights farms are the easiest, as they start at 30 happiness, but I see they have been changed to level 7 now, so the theater isnt the only one. :) The next easist must the 2x2 kites. The Gumball machine starts at level 2 with only 5 happiness, so it takes 35 upgrades to max it out & the last few are REALLY expensive. The last 10 upgrades on them cost millions more than the same 10 upgrades from 30-40 on the pearl & stones.
  • I got pop up on snowman for sale long time ago.

My screen capture of snowman couple said 0 happiness.

My question is which of the line (below) is correct?

It mean level 4 on 0 happiness (start on level 4 to max level).

    or

Invisible level 1 on 0 happiness (I mean the decoration start at level 1 but the screen said level 4).
  • The snowman decorations are for the build a snowman event, you collect snowballs to set how much happiness the decoration has, that is why the info does not give a number. If you win one, then it should have happiness.
  • RWS You are talking about the event.

I did events in winter and summer. After the winter event there is pop up "If you want to buy snowman... (6 snowmen to pick)". I bought snowman on the pop up thing. What I bought is from the screen capture.

Ahh I did not see them for sale, thats a bit mean starting it at 0 happiness :(  So in that case, yes you will have to level it up using Greta, the advantage of it being level 4 instead of level 1 is usually that the upgrades will be cheaper, until you reach the normal happiness for level 4 decos and then they will be like any other level 4 deco after that. It would be REALLY expensive to get a level 1 deco with 0 happiness all the way up to the top of level 8. The higher level a deco starts on the better.

We have never had a set of decos all different levels starting from 0 happiness before, so its possible they don`t follow the same rules as normal.

  • RWS - I use [] is from your quote better then real quote box.

Level 1 to level 8 (0 happiness to (level 8)) - the cost on upgrading is more expensive than - Level 4 (0 happiness) to level 8.

    - - -
["The higher level a deco starts] with 0 happiness is [better."] The reason is [until you reach the normal happiness for level 4 decos]. [and then they will be like any other level 4 deco after that.] It mean (snowman on level 4 is 40 happiness) my screen capture snowman - 0 happiness to 40 happiness is cheaper (same as to your quote)[it being level 4 instead of level 1 is that the upgrades will be cheaper] - After 40 happiness become same price to upgrade as any other level 4 snowman.
(paragraph(above)  - is that what you mean - RWS?)
    - - -

[It would be REALLY expensive to get a level 1 deco with 0 happiness all the way up to the top of level 8.] Which is explain again from the last paragraph. Snowman level 1 is around 9 happiness. Start 0 happiness to 9 happiness is cheap upgrade. Afterward...

    -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

I read one more times and I found I have a missing question...

What I bought the snowman is the same as the event to get a snowman. Will both snowmen happiness number reach up same number of happiness (to reach up to level 8)?
    Example
Bought snowman will go from 0 happiness to 200 happiness
Event snowman will go from 40 happiness to 200 happiness

Will level 1 snowman(to reach up to level 8) will reach same happiness number as level 4 snowman(to reach up to level 8)?
    Example
Bought level 1 snowman will go from 0 happiness to 200 happiness(at level 8)
Bought level 4 snowman will go from 0 happiness to 200 happiness(at level 8)

PS. I do not know max happiness on snowmen.
  • @wild_cat_keep (US1) The maximum happiness for any deco depends on its size, when the top level was 7 the max was 10 happiness per square (hps), then they added level 8 & I am not sure what the top of level 8 is (possibly 12hps). The level 8 decos that I have cost about 12 million for their next upgrade point, so I haven`t got one to the max yet. As you add more happiness, the level of the deco increases, until it reaches the top of level 8. If the max is now 12hps, that would be 192 happiness for a 4x4 deco.
