Coop Championship Again this Soon?

Comments
I agree Gavin. I'm losing interest more and more. I have always been a team player and helped out my co-op in any way I could but I'm really getting sick of the CC coming around so often. I have real life stuff to deal with. I can't stayed glued to the computer doing missions over & over. The only reason this thing comes around so often is because people spend money on it & GGS wants to take advantage of that. Its way too repetitive IMO. If it were to come around less often it would be more exciting and more people would want to get involved. Now its the same ol boring thing.
@MRG1 The co-op challenge hasn't started yet but you should see a countdown timer until the event starts at the top of the screen like in the image below.
I'm just sick of being a money cow to a greedy corp. based in Germany. They must be laughing their (you know what) off, seeing us pushing our missions like good little monkeys while they watch the gold purchase meter go up like crazy.
All that for a worthless trophy... and OH WOW... and orchard that gives a handful more than a regular one! Gawd... I must be dumb not to participate!!!
This game used to be: produce, harvest, build your farms and the occasional themed decoration event and missions you could choose to do. Look for new members in the coop and build it up.
Now it's insanely busy: Trying to get all the horse races done, collecting normal harvests, trying to fill that demanding organic market, completing event tasks, fill the ship's orders, the themed decoration tasks, trying to build the temporary farms, and then of course, the coop championship stuff.
Please. SLOW this game down. Space out the frequency of the coop challenges and horse races. The new features you are adding on are silly. Seriously, you'd charge 79,000 in gold for a background? Does it drop gold from the sky?
Also, I need to know if I'm imagining this. Did the cost of the boosters increase this time around? I feel like they used to be in the $1.35M range for a 1 hour booster, and around $4M for the 3 hour one. Now they are $1.5M and $5M, respectively? I feel like this is also another ridiculous change that GGS did not inform us on.
Regards,
Stan
It would be nice if their top executives in GGS would read these comments and at least attempt to make a change to where the players can all enjoy it again and GGS can still "take it to the bank"!
1) Competition 2) Standards 3)Fairness 4) Frequency 5) Fun
1) THIS IS NO LONGER A CO-OP COMPETITION. IT IS NO MORE THAN A GOLD WAR with GGS as the only real beneficiary. How is this a competition when the criteria for winning is spending the most gold? A coop at level 60 can't compete with BP at level 300+. This activity does not measure skill or strategy-- just ability to spend real money.
2) Standards- A competition has participants who have met certain standards, have similar experience and common strengths. Competitors have the same goals and similar methods and equipment. The top rewards are something equally desired by all players and achievable without deep pockets. That's not the case here.
3) Fairness- A competition that is not equally available to all participants is not a competition. What's the point anymore? The video ads are another unfair and divisive function. The players with videos got free gold the last two challenges. Those with no videos had to buy gold. How is that fair? Why can't we use farm dollars for gifts and some challenge tools opening that up to those who can't spend real money every 2 weeks. Why do you only put naughty pranks on specials and not the nice gifts anymore? The player versus player mentality isn't always helpful or enjoyable. We were told missions would pair players at a similar points/level,yet players in level 70 are being matched with those in levels 200 or above.
4) Frequency-The old challenge let the players pick what they wanted to compete in, when they wanted to do it and how long they wanted it to run. Good, long time players are disgusted with not having time to build up feed, seed, and gifts before another needless competition arrives. A five day challenge, six times a year would be plenty. Then it would be special. We have lives and families and jobs too. Who cares about winning a title that changes in 2 wks? It's meaningless that way. How many viewers would there be for a Super Bowl, or World Cup that occurred every few weeks. GGS has managed to take something that was fun and make it insignificant and divisive.
5) FUN- Most of us play for fun, relaxation and getting to know other people. When that is replaced with stress, frustration, financial drain, and pressure, why should we spend our money on that? The fun is going out of the whole thing. Some coops have dropped out, others never had a chance. Leaders and players burn out from the strain and quit. It's hard to keep happy motivated players when they must spend money to even try.
What's the motivation for the teams who have already won--more trophies and cherry orchards to put in storage (since there's no room on our farms)? If the rank of the 2nd-5th place winners is all that changes, and that happens every 2 weeks, why do this?
Please listen to your players. We have choices of where to farm and what games we choose to spend money on. We want something fair and fun for everyone. If the competition can't operate that way-- do away with it. Hoping for happier farms : ))
You are missing a lot of real money cost, increased stress level, intense frustration, inequitable operations, and lost enjoyment of the game.
I do think that perhaps leveling the challenge in a way that allows small co-ops to compete against small co-ops and large co-ops to compete against large co-ops and creating prizes for both may help a little. The reality is that the gold part won't go away. If a player in a co-op can afford to buy gold and help themselves they will. It won't matter the size of the co-op. Multiply that by several players with large amounts of disposable income and you have a winning co-op. I cannot compete with those players, either, but I don't fault GGS for it. Sometimes it helps to fake them out so they think you have nothing, then surprise them at the end. Many times my competition was putting up 15,000 eggs to my 800. That is not GGS's fault. They just have more coops than I do. If you and your co-op did the best you could, be happy and set goals for next the next round. Hopefully, there will be changes to the set up to make it more balanced somehow.
A little change that you could make quite quickly is to change the rewards. A little variety could go a long way. You could also make the rewards more valuable. And lower the numbers of rep points required. You have already done this twice since the inception of the HardWorker event, so clearly it isn't that hard. I would estimate that you need to bring down the total rep points by about half across the whole event. (This would still require my coop, ranked 22, to double its output - so I hardly think it asking too much). But I suspect, that if the goal seemed attainable, I could more easily inspire people to work harder.
Next, make the rewards for placing within the coop greater. 3 humus for 2nd and 3rd place is hardly an incentive. 150 feed for 1st is weak as well. Stretching out those ranking rewards to include the first 5 or 7 players would help drive competition within the coop. It helps the overall total if people within a coop are competing with each other.
Now someone will make the argument that if you lower the number of rep points, people will buy less gold. However, lots of people don't bother to buy gold during the event, because they think they could never buy enough. Is it better to sell 10 widgets at $100 or 50 widgets at $50?
Also, there is the frequency. Just having it come between the temp farms was often enough. Then you started running it both between the temp farms and once during them. That is excessive. I think you should go back to just doing it between the temp farms.
I agree with many of the comments posted here. The CC comes way to often. In between islands or 5 to 6 times per year would be just fine with me. GGS needs to give farmers a chance to build up their inventory or special seeds.
Isn't a challenge(competition) supposed to be a reflection of a person's hard work? Buying RP does not show that a Farmer worked hard. It just shows that GGS wants to grab hard earned and saved money from us everyday farmers Stop selling RP during the challenges Base it solely on hard work
GGS has shown us that they can create lot of changes by adding new things to the farming game. Then that means they have the ability to make changes to something that they already created. Stop adding new things to the game and just fix the things that are broken
many farmers have taken a lot of time out of their busy lives to post these very good comments written here & else where You have lots of free advice here GGS on how to improve things Implement these ideas to make the farms even better Better farms and happy farmers will actually make money for GGS
WHY DO WE SHARE IN THE FORUM AND THE "TELL US WHAT YOU THINK" SECTION OF THE GAME, IF IT DOES NO GOOD?
I am totally shocked at GGS starting another coop challenge so soon AGAIN!
No response, no improvement...same old greed and lack of concern for players and cooperatives.
I had 3 players in my coop wanting to quit today because of yet another challenge too soon on the heals of the last. They are burning out because they can't keep up with this crock of a competition. Clearly, player opinions and input mean little, if anything to GGS.
Don't tell us you are passing on our input to development only to come back a few weeks later with the same gold grabbing hands out and another round of this same old "dung". We have lives with responsibilities...this isn't our full time job! We have a hard time getting good players only to have this insanity run them off.
Why don't you just give Brat Pack another apple orchard and let the rest of us work on other game components?
OR--
WHY DON'T WE ALL TAKE A BREAK FROM THE GAME WHILE A HANDFUL OF COOPS PLAY DURING THE SO-CALLED COMPETITION ???
WHY CAN'T WE HAVE FUN LIKE WE USED TO ON BIG FARM??
So, so sad : (
(shaking my head in disbelief)
Or, alternatively, I get it. You don't expect us to spend the actual time, just skip through with gold. Same goes for missions. Buy the RPs or "win with gold" right? Here's the problem with that.
I am very certain that my coop will never, ever, win an orchard. There is no even playing ground here for coops that aren't even close to beating the top 10. How much gold would it take to even come close to them?
Why on earth would I be bothered again to try and get the measly prizes you offer for the remaining plebs in this game?
In case you forgot GGS, the last coop challenge ended October 14th. This is too much. Make your game offer quality services and game play, not all these "piles of dung" features that take away from the enjoyment of the game. It feels too much like a full-time job, it isn't fun and you're close to losing people that have played for almost 3 years because you can't seem to listen to your client-base's concerns. That isn't a good business practice.
NO, I do not really expect this post to actually be read by the GGS powers that be. YES, I still hold on to fresh hope every new day that someone might read these comments & "get it"................
BTW......the Coop Challenge is NO longer a challenge. We all know who will win. We all know where our coop will finish. It has become a burden to many of us. Just saying.......
OCT. 14TH LAST COOP CHALLENGE.....
Nothing will change until the mass of people change....meaning more people must opt out of the championship than play. I doubt that will happen because that will mean you can't do even one mission, because that's what puts you in it. IDK about you, but they have become a habit, why harvest w/o doing one. But I can !
Also the ratio of new players and gold players to the handful complaining is vast in comparison. So why would they listen ? From a business point of view, giving up a few for the many is more profitable, least you be reminded this is a free game. So they really owe us nothing.....This is how to keep it in perspective !
You have to do what you feel is best for you, ie; your co-op. They give us this platform to voice our opinions, so we keep our voices heard here and let those who read draw their own conclusions.
I have read many GOOD suggestions here...... one can only hope they decide to incorporate a few !
I don't want my members feeling like this isn't enjoyable either and I'd be afraid to lose some great, wonderful members over expectations are are unreasonable.
