Good Game But...
I would suggest letting us build one thing on the main farm, one on the horse farm, one on the gourmet and so on at a time. That is, one at a time on each farm section so that we can actually DO some of the dozens of quests we have at a time.

This has been suggested time and again and the answer is always the same. It is part of the strategy of the game to know what to build/upgrade when.
Duffykid is totally correct, its a part of the game & though you think you could use 2 or 3 slots now, that wouldn`t last long, because before you know it your upgrades & land expansions are going to cost millions of farm dollars & if you haven`t spent this time making a nice pile of cash, you really will be stalled in the game then & you won`t even be able to use 1 building slot.
And, as Foghorn said, land expansions get expensive fast. The next expansion on my MF is 3.1 mil, GF - 990,000, FF - 550,000. Just have a look at this for prices:

Oh, and Mellie, if you have something building/upgrading all the time, or nearly all the time you ARE getting something done.
I love this game...that's why I have two farms!
