The best time to use the event seeds is different, depending what event is running and what task you have to do.
    - and of course they only are good to use in task where you have to find item in the fields.

There is several players who have make a spreadsheet where you can see what the different types of seeds can drop (if you're lucky, else nothing drops).
Here's my version of a spreadsheet where you can see what seeds can drops in the different events task:

Well, I save sunflowers for bee event. They give a bee every time. Plant while sleeping. As for the other event seeds I use them for/during events. They seem to be the most helpful then.

During the week-long events I try to use the seed that belongs to that event if something is needed from the fields, those shóuld give the best drop.
Sunflowers I usually save for things like the easter event.

I have not used any of the event seeds in about 3 - 4 months (the last major event with a flag as a reward), it was a month long event that if you used sunflower seeds (an example), you would get about 200 items needed, I think i needed about 11,000 items ttl and i completed it in around 8 - 9 days.

If you have the opportunity to get double experience points, either from the Wheel of Fortune or Mystery Boxes, use the seeds that give you experience points for planting them then. Sunflowers normally give 50 experience points each, so you can plant them then to get 100 points each.

I think rice is the only one you need to plant at a specific time. One of the tasks of the Mysterious Asia event is to collect rice. Other than that, the best time to use them is when collecting items that come from fields as they, normally, have a higher drop rate. As rocnrobn said, save your sunflowers for the find the bees event. Guaranteed 1 bee per field.

The bee event is recurring so getting the rewards is not a big deal there, the events I am talking about happen only about 1 or 2 times per year, such as the xmas or easter event with those flags only available 1 time and then they are gone, my advice is do not be tempted by the bee event or similar ones

I used my rice seeds yesterday for mystrious asia events and gave me 20 origami cranes/field, which roses just gave 12 .
And planted my sunflower seed once, which i had completed the task when harvesting the cow feeds while the sunflower did not grow yet and i got nothing from sunflower except the Xp and the sunflower as field crop.

Now i have 2 sunflower seeds and will not use it even for bee event, cause i just know that there will be easster event.
And how many seeds will we need for that event,??

There might be Halloween and Christmas events too. During those you usually have to collect a lot of random things on the farms over the course of several days. Sunflowers drop 200 'things' and have a good droprate too.
  • My book for Managing my farm shows that I have dozens or even hundreds of event seeds.  I can sell them but they don't show up when I want to plant them in my fields.  Is this a bug?

I think you are looking at the Produce .tab not the Seeds tab. You can't sell seeds

@Peachie Rose (US1) Do you have the name of one, as an example, so we can see where you are looking? When you click on an empty field & select the sow button, your seeds are on 3 different tabs, regular crops, special seeds for regular crops (which you make in your Nursery)  & event seeds, which you usually win in various place throughout the game. As John says, you cannot sell seeds, you have to grow them 1st & then sell whatever you grew from them.
  • I know where my seeds for events are.  I have only a few...maybe 3 sunflowers, 1 rose.  In my farm manager book, however, it indicates that I have dozens of event seeds in my storage.  I can't sow from there, but there is a SELL button so I tried it and did actually sell a few.  I would like to see them in my event seeds so I can plant them in my fields.
  • @Peachie Rose (US1)As we explained to you, you cannot sell seeds, so what you are looking at in your farm management is not the seeds, it is the flowers that you grew from the seeds & those you can sell, neighbours at the market also sometimes ask to buy them too.
You are looking on the 2nd tab in your farm management (called field crops) but if you look on the 5th tab (called seeds) you will see there is no option to sell & that shows how many seeds you have.
  • Okay, RunsWivScissors.  I now understand.  Sorry to have bothered you but you have eased my frustration.  Thank you.
  • @Peachie Rose (US1) You are no bother at all, glad it makes sense now .... Happy farming :)
