Well, I forgot about deco parts. They came before the purple, though. But yes, I am hopeful for a different prize. I had thought maybe spin tokens would emerge or mystery boxes. They seem like the perfect thing to use for this. I am sort of glad the turnovers had no non-cash reward, because that drags down the sale price, and it is over 4 million in turnovers.

You can get: Dollars, gold, horse shoes, event currency, parts, as stated in the announcement page. Seems some are for the timed others for standard contracts.

event currency has been disable for now as reported by Steffi, so question is where is that gold mainly.

One of the other members of my co-op received gold for a contract. I can't now remember which kind of contract it was, and it was only minimal gold - 3 I think she said.

The other thing missing from that list is karma points.

I only listed the actually stated reward, not the etc. part :)
Good to know gold does come, and I missed Steffie's comment.

3 gold ? ? ? And that even once in a blue moon? Not a strong incentive. :)

How much did it cost in dollars? Can you find out for us? :)

makes me think maybe there be another type of prize unlocked after lvl 100 value-light purple contracts too.

cause we have green, light blue, dark blue, dark purple, light purple(5 color)
and we have karma, exp, horsehsoe, deco parts, and ? (4 prize type so far)

makes me just feel like there should be another prize type too at least. even though its just a guess only. :S

Has someone had a light purple?... Highest I have seen claimed so far is a 99 (which is still in the dark purple range) Who got a level 100? ...& Congrats!

That was me, but was half asleep when it happened and didn't even notice til I saw the gold pop up next to the dollars received.

If it happens again I will make notes.

Sounds like someone gifted your chicken, the sparkles are hard to see. So most only know when that karma comes out of collecting a field or animals.

Oh bless you. :) You slept through the event of the century. :)

Has anybody figgured out how much time it takes for the neighbours to drop from 20 % to zero? They seem to decline pretty fast. I'm still missing that timer on neighbours. It's just blind work unless you saw them comming.. :)

I've given goods to a neighbour the second they asked and got no smiley face big bonus. Random like everything else.

I have had additional 99's (four in total). I am beginning to suspect that it could be the ceiling. It does correspond to a perfectly rounded 25.00 percent. It does not explain what light purple would be for, but the numbers have always gone up in larger jumps. Seeing this string of 99's......it certainly makes me think.

ok, my question is: as we upgrade our contracts, the appearance of the market also upgrades, bigger fancier stalls..... if the contracts get too large and you start deleting them so the value goes down, does the market also degrade in appearance to correspond to the contracts?

No, the "market upgrades" remain. They are based on number of contracts done and never decrease. Contract levels have nothing to do with the market appearance, though a person is likely to be going up in levels at the same time, so it may appear to be the case.

When I first heard about the Organic market idea, I thought it might be a nice addition to the game. However, now that I have had the chance to use the Organic market for a while, I find that it has several design flaws which make it a waste of time and money for me. If I am wrong about any of the flaws described below, please feel free to let me know. The flaws are:
    1) As far as I can tell, there is no way to definitively know when a contract will expire. This means that there is a very high chance that contracts will expire with goods already allocated to them. Why would anyone enter into a contract that could expire unexpectedly?
    2) Goods that have been allocated to a contract are lost if the contract expires unfulfilled. Yes, one can spend inordinate amounts of gold to complete the contract, but some players cannot obtain such huge amounts of gold, and I, for one, don't wish to waste my gold in this manner. If we do not spend the gold, we lose the potential income from goods that are lost, EVEN THOUGH THOSE GOODS WERE NEVER DELIVERED TO THE BUYER. This is not reasonable, and it counterbalances whatever profit we might gain from successfully completing a contract.
    3) The number and quantity of goods required to fulfill a contract often empty my barn of one or more products, and many of those products are either difficult to replace or are necessary for the production of other, more valuable, products. In fat, several contracts often require the same product, which means that I have none of that product for days at a time.
    4) The amount of dollars that we make when we successfully complete a contract does not begin to compare with the dollars that we can make by not using the market at all, especially when the losses from unfulfilled contracts are taken into consideration.

So what do you think of the new Organic market?

There's lot posted in this thread about declined contracts, so just a quick summary:
    • while you only have 2 or 4 contracts, decline gives you only 30 mins cool down time. Aftern that you get new contract instead
when you have 6 contracts, appart from cool down timer:
    • contracts with zero value stay zero, nothing changes
    • contracts with higher value then zero can drop in value
decline doesn't effect the market itself. It stays at whatever level of upgrade it reached.

    ..........................

As there is loads posted regarding your queries also, I'll explain you just this one, but it covers nearly everything in your post anyway. Maybe somebody else will address other points.
    • There are two groups of contracts. Standard and Limited.
    • Standard contracts never expire (unless there is a bug in the game). You can work on their fulfilment for a week or longer if you wish so.
    • Limited contract always have 60 minutes, and the timer starts when you load in first goods.
    • There's no unpredictability regarding contract expiration.
    • You never have to lose any goods if you treat market properly and check what type of contract it is.
    • No standard contract has to clean out your barns. It's up to you how much you put in and how long you work on it.
    • You can decline any contract you don't like and work only on those that suit you.

Some aspects of the market can be tricky and confusing at times, but in general, organic market is a very good tool. Whatever is not perfect yet, the devs are working on it's finetuning. When properly used, it can bring small or substantial dollar increase, mostly dependant on the strengths of farmer!s economy. The market sort of follows your development with the contracts it offers. The stronger you get, the more profit you can make on the market. Very low levels can succesfully use at least neighbours, which offer up to 21 % bonus on single item sales, so easy to manage and pick which sale to accept.

I started tracking the specific contracts that reached 99. I filled several of them. One them then came back as a 9, so it seems to "roll over" at 99. This is most disappointing. Given that new knowledge, it seems that one should decline any contract that they don't want, if it is just one not-so-giant circle.

I have provided items to the "neighbor" bubble-heads the second they arrive and most of the time am not getting any percentage bonus, or any bonus for that matter. I read that after the update on the 18th all sales to neighbors, no matter the wait, would give some type of reward beside the stated dollar. So I think I will ignore the neighbors and just fill contracts.

Neighbours have minimum +1 % on top of direct sale as part of their displayed dollar amount. I overloked it for days before I got the idea to actually check this number. (Not tested systematically, so assume it's general rule. Somebody check it if you will.)

On top of that 1 guarantied percent there is those up to + 20 % which drop as separate package. If they don't drop when neighbours are served right after arrival, it looks like a bug.

    Hey gavinfarms,

we had your contracts checked quickly by our bug-analysts and they confirmed that everything is fine with your contracts. One contract type should still be at 99 while another one just reached 9.

Your high level one should re-appear sooner or later. :)

Can confirm. This is the small bonus we mentioned in the announcement. :)

Ok, 1% on top of direct sales for selling items to the neighbors, but why do some sales - I'm talking about immediate sales ..within 2 seconds of neighbor arriving - give the 20%, 19%, 16% and others only the 1%? How does one know if the reward for an immediate sale is going to greater than 1%? Is it just random, like a lottery? Most of the time I don't want to sell items for 1% above sale price since I'd rather save items for contracts.

Just now followed the little fat farmer as he walked to the stand, immediately clicked for sale of milk, and got 11%. What salesman is going to sell something and not know what he's going to get for it?

Does anyone else think that this market is one of the worse ideas they have implemented?, I do not mind selling excess items for a little more but why do they have to make it into an event that is never going away?

If anything it is a reason to not play anymore.

The Market got off to a very bad start, but I would not recommend giving up on it yet!

Well, I have kept a spreadsheet and calculated my transactions on the Market.

I started after the last update.

94 Contracts, no skips, Profit Total $166,495

    56 Neighbors, Profit Total $778,744

$166,495 + $778,744 = $ 945,239 Total Profit! I can use that kind of money and it will only go up!

It is not affecting my other farm operations in a negative way as I am very careful to keep things balanced.
    I am a Level 121 player.

Now after playing awhile, I understand that the Neighbors will give a bonus of up to 20% the faster you are when you click on them.

The contracts show their bonus in the Little square that has the number on it. Just hover your mouse over it (Thanks to Scissors for letting me know this!) It says: Value (X being the same as the number in the box), Bonus per reward y %. These bonuses go up too.

    Value 0 = 0
    Value 2 = 3.43%
    Value 7 = 8.26%
    Value 8 = 8.93%

I'm sure others could fill in more up to Levels in the 40's and maybe beyond that too. I'm a bit behind on the forum.

I've only had 1 Vendor which wanted $150,000 for a ?, so I did not do him!

So, for me, I like the Market and that added profit, especially for things that are NOT ingredients, is a reason to keep doing it. No other way to get more money for them without gold! That amount will only go up and for things I have an excess of that are not ingredients, it is a nice bonus. Yes, we do have to watch out for the ingredients for our Flower shop and Bakery, but in time I will balance that too. So far, I have been able to keep them going as I want them to be. Still too many cherries, peaches, and apples being requested, but I am dealing with it. Some ask for as little as 10 of these items. It was very hard during the fairtale event, trying to get apples for it, apples for the Ship, Apples for contracts, etc. I have 4 Apple Orchards, 2 Level 6, 2 Level 7. In time my excess apples managed to do it all. I'm choosing not to skip contracts, so I won't have the penalty. I can wait if I need something. IMO no hurry, the market will be here for a long time. I do not let my storage bottom out. I get it to the Level I want before I fill a contract, then replace the item.

    CM's.....

**PLEASE, IT WOULD REALLY HELP IF THE LIMITED CONTRACTS COULD HAVE A DIFFERENT COLOR BACKGROUND WHEN IT SAYS LIMITED CONTRACT TO DRAW OUR ATTENTION TO IT.

** Also, I am finding it difficult to see the neighbors, because that part of my screen is frequently behind all the timers. Something I am trying to work on.

My contrcts went from 0-11 on some, not sure how that all works, have several different levels now on different contracts. Maybe as I fill so many of one kind of contract i.e. University, has something to do with it.

Well, back to catch up on the forum. :)

i stand by what i said, also. The original idea from everyone was to be able to sell goods to other player so thy did not need to go thru BF such as the Farm Management tab. When you have the supposed neeighbors asking for items where do those goods go? nowhere but subtracted from your inventory and you may receive a little in compensation. The idea i saw was to be able to actually go to other farms and ask for items. The would take the form of something like a chat box and you could receive items that you needed. The way they do it is unacceptable. It [Watch your language! | Nafaru]

When the Neighbors buy your products, you get the money and the bonus they give you for filling the order fast, the Neighbors take your products home with them! :D

When the Contract is filled, you sell your product to the Company that sent you the contract, they pay you in farm $ and other things and perhaps a bonus too! Then the truck delivers your product to the company. ;)

You can't sell your products and keep them too.
    Jiesta wrote: »
Nope - I like the market a lot and the extra bonuses it can bring me!!

And of course exchanging goods between players (other farmers) will never ever be implemented as this will logically change the whole BF-system, and wreck the whole idea behind this system. Players/farmers wouldn't work that hard anymore for their stuff because they can simply get it from their higher ranked coop-members. It would make the game too easy and wouldn't be fair to all those players who worked hard to get their farms so big.

I've seen it being asked for a few times since 2,5 years - BTW never ever by the real professional players - and GGS always gives the same answer: it will not happen because of the aforesaid reasons ^^

Thanks Jiesta, Great Explanation. I like the new Market. :)
    Kamilcom wrote: »

Well, maybe first define the purpuse of the market with some clarity. Is it supposed to be dollar gainer like boat and flower shop, or is it supposed to be dollar/gold pit like temp farms, or both depending on the level of developement ......... ? It then determines the kind of tweaks that neads to be done to it, whether more favourable bonus ratios and such, or more interesting special rewards and such.

I can immagine a market transforming from for example dollar booster with easily manageable low quantities contracts for low levels through developement stage with not much dollar boost for mid levels to exclusive items giver with dollar loss for very high levels. But then it would probably need to be substantially readjusted and best scrapped down and started from the scratch again. :)

The purpose of the Market has to be another way for Players to make farm dollars, otherwise why would we ever play it?

Players at all levels should have the same bonuses, etc. Do not penalize players for staying with the game and leveling up, if anything, the bonus should increase as players level up! Another reason to keep playing!

I am more disappointed of GGS not answering any of our more important questions or "useful feedback" though.
to be honest the market showed a great potential, as it is obviously result of a genius idea and it has awesome interface and could be even the best update in past 2 years in balancing the whole game, but...
I guess once again while developers and designers and etc did a super job,
the balancers did a loose job again though.

whether market is good or bad is out of question totally though, since one can always ignore it and it won't disrupt any part of one's previous balance in the game and it is not part of any super important cycle or whatever in the whole game anyway(unlike ship>temp farm>greenhouse>horse, etc cycle), it is just an extra, like machines. but if one says, it could/can be "soooooo much better, than it is now" then I agree too.

@GGS: I will say again, with the current market system, after one upgrades it to the max, there is no point in doing 3+ item contracts, and there is also no point in going above 40-50 value either, and rather it might be optimum to "not go" higher than that actually, since in higher value contracts the super higher quantities of items and lack of "any noticeable difference in % bonus and extra prizes amount/rate" will make higher value contracts actually a bottleneck only with no real benefit.
say for example if i can get a 10k apple contract at 40 value with max 10 karma points, and finish it in 6 hours and have a chance to get another "karma" contract. then:
why should I go higher and do a 45k apple contract at 70 value with max 10 karma point again? as that will take like 2 days to finish at least. and will block "1" contract slot = meaning less chance to get "another" karma contract.

and that is just an example for "value" inefficiency that exist atm. regarding the 3+ item contracts, they just seem useless totally atm anyway.(at least the standard ones) so "unless" balance their requested quantity/ or make them give much better rate and different prizes than other contracts, then they will probably join oblivion forever.

It shows when you hover over the number in the little box, it says, for example...
"Value 79: bonus per reward 23.41%"

You can still see the message if you hover over a 0 one.

Thank You Very Much Scissors!!!!! I went from 4 to 6 contracts today and the numbers in the boxes started changing, lots of them are different. It's nice to know and be able to see that I am getting bonuses now!! Yeah!:)
