When does the aquisition of shovels show for new members

roadrunnernm (US1)roadrunnernm (US1) US1 Posts: 287
Our co-op has had two new members since July 13th and both have worked the CCE and did very well for the co-op and have participated in 4 co-op projects and have yet to have any shovels -- not that we soley rely on the amount of shovels in the group-- but we were wondering why they have "NO DATA YET" .... seems there should be sufficient data to go by after all this time.
Any info is appreciated. thanks!!

At the end of the second project that the member has worked on, their shovels should start showing. Are you sure they've actully worked on 4 projects?
What the shovels actually show is the player's performance over the last 5 projects, so the shovels aren't really an accurate representation until they've completed at least 5 projects. Could be a bug, but it's the first I've heard of it.

I thought it was after 2 projects .... The shovels give an overall indication over 5 projects, of which the last 4 projects count most - and then again: of which the last one counts most of all. The system is based on a complicated formula, which should ensure that not only the largest farmers with the biggest farms and/or most stables will always win the 'golden shovels'.

We - at our coop - do consider 2 red shovels as "has taken part in coop-project" and 3 red shovels are considered as "did the best he/she could"....

We do consider this shovel-system as a nice way to follow somewhat the contribution of all members towards our coop projects - but we certainly do not take this system too seriously, and will never punish someone based on their amount of shovels.

    Hope this helps ...... ^^

Shovels are for removing dung. They should not be used to rate players.
ex. my co op as many players with 10 apples, 10 cows, 10 chickens, and 10 ducks and do those projects all the time so I can never get 4 or 5 shovels because I don't have that many and refuse to use gold.

TY all for responding....I agree with Jiesta also.. the main question was when do they come into play.. perhaps after the next project they will see some results of their hard work.... and yes they did work the projects!! We have an awesome group of people who are very diligent and just wonderful to know!!

An aside to rocnrobn: we are not in competition with each other and we too are of different levels-- we each do what we can, some more, some less as, is to be expected-- the indication of shovels is like a feedback mechanism and now we know the answer to the question!!!

Thanks again to everyone for taking the time to answer!!! HAPPY FARMING!!

There is an article that explains about the co-op shovels here:

    https://bigfarmtips.wordpress.com/2015/02/13/all-about-the-co-op-shovels/

The co-ops for both my farms have lower level players and high level players with production/factory farms. I do the best I can do with my regular, run-of-the-mill type farm. I normally have between 2-4 shovels. One of the co-ops is international. We can start egg scramble or movie experience when I'm logging off for the night, and it is done when I get online again. Drops my shovels down a bit but so what. I do the next one while they're asleep and it goes right back up.

It should not be used as an indicator of who does what and whether they should be kicked out of the co-op, IMO. Unless you know someone is on their farm for long periods and has no shovels constantly...then there may be a concern.

I do not use gold and have a fullhouse of red shovels. Got it with only me and one other player in my co-op. The rules are not very clear. Every time you upgrade to a next level on your main farm, you should get gold coins. It didn't happen for the past 10 levels. I opened a ghost new farm starting from level 1, and went to level 10 and only got gold twice. Think the developers wants us to use credit cards for relaxing. I refuse.

The thing about the gold at leveling up is, it is added to your total before you ever get the notice that you've gone up a level. If you are very close to leveling up, note the amount of gold you have. After you level up...you will see the difference.
