  • No kidding.. Ok, thanks !!
  • Hi all. (sorry if this is not the right categories) Is it passable to get some warning when something is about to start like this "hard work event" now some one haw 138.148 advantage over my. It would be grate if this silo would sow op 24 hours before it start whit clock countdown

and off topic. When architect come he begin to say "Hallo" (this rude guy only say good buy)

    Thanks

  • Sorry Rolla. I like what your thinking but I am a level 19 player and disagree.
  • I agree with rolla they should send a notice of the hard work event
  • it wouldn't make any difference, if you don't use gold it is impossible to be in top 10 (even top 50)... and by not announcing the event they give a bit of advantage to people who play this game a lot (last time i made it to top 50 but i was extremely lucky with orders, this week i'm not going to make it to last few rewards even though I started the event immediately )
  • tabanam. I disagree. I have 2 time almost get in to top 50 whit no gold use. (but that was when i was not in 65-999 level group).

I agree: It is all dependent on luck if you don't use gold.
Last time, I had a good order of selection: corn, eggs, wildflowers, apples, and it was effortless to move up fast. This time, I had corn then barley. Once I harvested barley I was stuck at 2 points per second for almost 9 hours.

Looking at the prize list it states:
    First place - win flag
    2-5 place - win decoration
6-50 place - win gold licence
Does this mean that positions 1 to 5 do not get a gold licence ?

Can someone clarify this for me please?

I am not sure about this as I have not been in the top 5 (my best position was 43rd place) but I think that the 1st placed gets the flag, decoration and gold licence, 2nd to 5th get the decoration and gold licence, and 6th to 50th get the gold licence.
  • best that a CM responds to this post. I am also in the same problem btw

Here's what Nafaru posted before. I'm not sure if its still the same but I haven't heard of any change.

    Nafaru said:
Honestly, it would seem that you don't get the license. The phrasing says only 6-50 whereas the wheel of fortune where you get everything below it is written as 1-5, 1-50, and 1-500 indicating that top places still get lower rewards. It may well be a misprint (as you and the other top 5 certainly deserve that extra license) but the way it is written I would expect you not to get it.
    This is correct.
Top 1 will receive the kite, top 2-5 get the boxes and top 6-50 get a gold mining license.

Rewards are exclusive to the respective groups this time around.

    Thanks Nafaru and jess
Well I will stop working hard so I can drop back below 5 as the gold licence is way more valuable
  • Can someone please tell me what the reward was for the task at the left for starting the Hard Work event?   Was it gold? If so, how much? I can't quite remember.  Thanks
  • It was some sort of seaweed product, I forget which one or how much of it, sorry.

Only one, and if i remember right, it was seaweed food

Thanks @Jess_d - as Janni said it doesn't really seem worth coming in the top 5, best to be in the 6th-50th spot.  I really would have thought that the rewards were as I stated in my post above, seems a shame that they are not :(

Yep, I wrote it down: 10 seaweed feed.

I agree with you both. I'm not in the top 50 but I would much rather have a gold license. :)
  • Did the event end prematurely?
8 hours ago I had 780000 points. I was slowly gaining 2 points per second with apples, 7 hours to go. Simple calculation told me I should safely achieve over 800000 points.
No. The counter stopped at 782xxx when I login again.

    Yes the prizes are correctly.

How do somebody imagine that the first place will win this event with less than 1 200 000 points?

If I remember well the final prize of this event (30/30) is the gold mining license (2) I think.

This means kite + gold license.

If you finish between 6 to 50 you will have one more.
  • @Brave Ana (GB1)  Its true that 1st place is also most likely to have won all the hardwork rewards too, but depending on which server you are on, that could also be true of some of the lower ranked players or no players at all, on some smaller servers.

In other events the top rank wins all the prizes for their rank & lower, so it is strange why they would make this one different to normal, does seem a bit unfair.
  • Thank You!
  • I can´t see the fun to take part in Hard work event when you don´t start in the beginning of the event
now the first place have 300.000 point in advance.

So you only play to be first? How is that a nice thing to play a game to be first in everything?

It is best to just go with how fast you can do it and see how many rewards you can get. No need to battle for first as those are the big gold spenders that always finish first.
  • Where did I say I  only play to be first???
I just like to have this fair play
you do not get any warning this is going to start
If I know this was going to start then I would log my in that time

  • Jiesta (NL1)Jiesta (NL1) Posts: 6,557
We all do have the same chance @Rolla (GB1) as nobody know when an event will start. Your guess is as good as ours, and GGS loves to surprise us - it's part of the game.

    Happy farming!  :)
  • Well maybe you are right we all have the same chance if all buy one lotto ticket. But I do not log in all day long. I only log in 2 times per day (except Sat. & Sundays). But if I know when it start I would log in when need it. (and my guess was not good now as first place was already whit 300.000 point in advance).

I get what you're saying Rolla, I was online when the event first started but people quickly had over 300,000 points. They're using gold and/or seaweed feed/fertilizer to get ahead and stay ahead. I was ranked 1,6?? but now I'm ranked 3,946. I have never liked this event & probably never will. I didn't like when GGS started making everything a competition with the rankings. I don't even like the rankings within the co-op during the co-op challenge. I feel like we're a team and should work as a team rather than compete against each other. Seems like GGS thinks making things more competitive results in more people buying gold and that's probably true.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying I don't like the hard worker event because I don't finish first (I could care less). I'm saying I don't like all the competition which results in more gold spending. Yea I know GGS is a business that needs to make money but keep in mind they have many games they're earning money from as well. I'm not into the hard worker event because I don't need the tiny rewards earned along the way and honestly, I could care less about having an animated kite on my farm.

These events are designed to target the more competitive people so they will buy more gold to stay on top. Its ridiculous! I ignore most events because I'm not going to stress myself out over a game or feel like I need to spend more money to earn a virtual prize.

      Exactly @jess_d (US1) !! Very well said....

*sarcasm on* One almost must admire *sarcasm off*  the marketing concept + implementation of this game - every step along the way of development as well as the psychology of human kind is evidently very well studied and calculated ... they seem to know exactly how the human character is best triggered to get increasingly competitive as nowadays even a certain degree of 'unfairness' seems to has been implemented intentional in several ingame elements, just to get players pitted against each other.

Once this game was a friendly "build your farm" game but nowadays even the smallest individual component aims to make money in an apparently not so friendly way. And I know a lot of players - just like me - tried to find a friendly game among all those war games, and thought they had finally found one in Big Farm.

Now I guess we all understand that a company wants to make money, and there is nothing wrong with a few 'positive' competitive elements in the game where everybody has the same / a fair chance to win - but since the 'negative' competitive element is brought into this game so fiercely, and they are obviously doing everything they can to get people really play off against each other - it has given the game a very grim twist. Not nice!  :(

I also avoid the events with this negative competitive element as much as possible nowadays - sad but unfortunately it is no different.

PS/BTW: the word 'cooperation' means 'to work together'
