Cooperative Championship Praise

5 STARS for doing away with the outrageous "Hot Deal" whereby one could buy the win by purchasing reputation points. Kudos for making the championship a true contest of cooperative play. My team shall have great fun playing hard next time the championship comes around. WELL DONE GGS!8):):D;)^^:thumbup:

UPDATE: It appears I have spoken too soon as it appears I am mistaken in my belief that GGS did away with the buying of reputation points Hot Deal during the championship as more than one player has seen this offer during the period I didn't. (See below replies.) Therefore, I RETRACT MY PRAISE until such time it is actually gone (if that should occur).

They only offer that Hot Deal while the coop challenge is going on. I wouldn't celebrate until AFTER the next challenge if it doesn't show up again (but that Hot Deal will be back)

Understand....there was a huge uproar over it several championships ago....and I was part of the uproar. lol
The outright buying of reputation points during the championship makes the "cooperative championship" a farce and only about who can and will spend the most money and NOT which cooperative can play the best cooperatively. The championship has run several times now without the deal being offered. Hope it is NEVER offered DURING the championship again (nor any other deal that amounts to the same thing of buying the win).

I get the offer EVERY time the championship rolls around ... never bought it, but it is still there.

I didn't see it. Just the one to increase Rep % for a period of time.

Did they really remove it? That's cool. I wouldn't notice cause that was the last drop which made me nearly completely ignore all these so called co-op champs. :) It still is a money drain though, even without that shamefull deal, where only those investing heavily in gold have any chance for placement among first ten co-ops.

I believe they did, Kamilcom, as I have not seen it past 3 (I think) championships and I've kept an eye out for it, but it is possible that I missed it. Cookiie4me above says they still see it offered every time, so perhaps I'm mistaken. If I'm mistaken, then I of course retract my praise. Who knows, maybe they just didn't offer it to those who complained the loudest. LOL Could a moderator please comment on this? Is this buy reputation points offer still in effect during the championship or has it been done away with?

Also, I didn't consider that the top 10 spend gold heavily to win those places. It would be nice if the co-op championship was just that and didn't involve purchasing of any kind to win.

I did not see that particular offer during the last co-op championship but I did see it in the one before.

I don't believe all the top 10 co-ops "spend gold heavily" as the co-op I'm in finished in the top 10 and, although I think we have a few who use gold on occasion, I don't use any in missions and finished in the top 5 of my co-op ranking (nearly 2 million RP).

Where would the gold spending, during the championship, stop, exactly? With spending actual gold to finish a mission? What about those who have used gold to purchase fertile fields? Could they be used during the CC or would those crops not count? How about library books purchased with gold? Or using seaweed/premium feed/humus purchased with gold. What about using the powerhouse farm machine at its top level? Would that be allowed? Even the current hot deal, of 250% more RP for a specific length of time requires the purchase of gold.

Gold is part of the game. Where should the cut-off point be during the championship?

Edit: Thinking back, I haven't seen it for the last two championships. It was the one before THAT that I saw the 'buy RP' hot deal last.

We were 10th in the USA, and while individuals spent gold as they willed, the Co-op bought exactly one Gold booster for the entire affair, just to kick things off. As we have learned in the past (when we failed) our co-op has a couple of gold spenders, but they can't do it alone. It requires a serious commitment on the parts of the other farmers for us to pull off what we did. We had more than a couple of farmers with 1 mil plus rep who don't spend their earned gold on that sort of thing.

So... yes and no to the top ten being heavy gold spenders.

I think yakosa that you are going to far when you say that the top 10 are big gold users and spenders.
In my case i play a lot of missions mainly because i am handicapt due to a trafficaccident while working as a trucker. Last co-op challenge i played 173 missions. Had a total of 2.9 million rp-points. But there is a but. I had 108 solo missions and many with 2 players ,and in that missions my opponent did not harvest anything. So a lot of poor rp-points missions
I spend in total 2783 gold to push the mission i had with more than 2 players. I think it is unfair to call high ranked players as heavy gold users.
I had 4 temporary ducks on my gourmetfarm just for the eggs and dung missions. You don,t need to be a mathematic wizzard to calculate that with my powerhouse on step 3=NO gold use a few missions with 6 players i won +60.000 rp-points.

If i used my 20.000 gold i had on my counter before the co-op challenge started all. Then i consider myself as a big gold user.
When i count my playing hours during the complete challenge i still have a very low averge in rp-points.
Thanks to the so-called non excisting solo-missions.

And when the opponent likes to spend every day us$50,- so it be it, thanks to those players we can play a nice game wich i still like to play.

Happy Farming and i don,t care to loose a mission. I only HATE solomissions

    .........

Thank you.....I stand corrected. It is unfortunate that this offer is made during the championship and I stand by my opinion of it.

Good points DuffyPoo22 and the rest of you on the other gold spending though and it is nice to know that the top 10 coops didn't necessarily get there solely by heavy gold usage and buying of rep points. Gives the rest of us hope! ;)

If that is the case I'll probably reconsider at some point my view of co-op championships. Two mil RP in 5 days or so is a very good result. I think I had some 130 k or so, but I really didn't bother. Still for 2 mill I'd probably need much better developement of my main farm and a lot more commitment to the champ. While the former is comming, I doubt about the latter. :):):) It would still be nice to see the whole picture to see how wrong or right I was with my assumption, which will not happen. Nevertheless it's nice to be suggested that good results can be achieved even without heavy gold spending. Thanks for your comments. :)

Uhm, I think you are calling out the wrong person in this message. In my message I talked about how my co-op, which was top ten, had many non-gold users who scored over one million, and we wouldn't have been top ten without them! :)

We have some gold spenders too, obviously. But I was opposed to the idea that the top ten are all "heavy" gold users.

I have a very modest main farm: 6 chicks, 4 cows, 4 pigs, 7 fields (one used for non-mission crops), and only 2 ducks, 2 goats and 1 donkey on the GF.

The last two championships were more than 5 days, though. This last one was 7 or 8, I've forgotten...it's all a blur. ;( I did do 157 missions.

Your modest farm is still big compared to mine. Now that number of mission with search times amounts to about 80 hours. If it was 6 or 7 days - I don't remember, really ignored that event for the most part - that would be over 13 or 11 hours of playing daily respectively. Well yeah, that's the kind of devotion I don't have.............. :):):)

In any case, thanks for your clarification. It helps me get a more precise picture.

For the record and to help further clarification, the best co-ops on UK server were over 60 milion rep points if I remember it well.

It is not a coop challenge. It is a gold challenge. Who can use the more gold he/she wins. And if it had the gold option for buying reputation then why "You can use this offer 7 times".

The last two championships did not have the "buy rep points" hot deal. At least I never saw them, and believe me, I played a lot. I achieved over 1 million points in the first one, and very nearly 2 million in the second and use absolutely NO gold whatsoever. I finished in the top 5 in my co-op in the second CC.

The co-op I'm in finished in the top 10 both times. There are some gold users in our group but I don't think any of them use massive amounts, and, as I said, I used none and I'm quite sure that many others used none.

If it's gone, than thanks GGS and if it appeared in the next CC than, X(X(. My coop also finished it 6 times in top ten coop.(I always change my coop when CC starts.:D8). It helped me a lot. I got 4 blue tractors and 2 trophy of solidarity(These are special decos)in the last 6 CC.
