i cannot really see GGS giving us an option not to have an avatar, otherwise they will have wasted their time doing them. what i can see is the option to buy with gold a better avatar, it'll be either stick with what we got or buy a different one, the females especially will want to change from a male avatar ! .......

I understand that you do not take Nafaru's comment about GGS being quite positive about this option very seriously? Or did you read over it?

First off: yes, they are based on real people - GGS employees working on the game and we did a raffle to figure out who is going to be put into the game next. Due to this raffle, a lot of male avatars were put into the game with this season. We realize that there should have been more variety, especially for our female players, and have forwarded this feedback already.

Excellent! Just make sure that you have a balance. After all, your players are male AND female. AND to have only male at the top ranks is a no no in this day and age.

Furthermore, it was suggested that deselecting avatars to go back to the previous empty barn display should be an option. The team has considered this to be a valuable idea and has agreed to add it as an optimization as soon as our tight schedule allows for this change.

    Good! :)

We'll make sure to also pass on your ideas for additional avatars in the future.

I look forward to seeing them.

completely agree. Again had we been told that once we changed it we could never go back many would have left it as it was. We need more info or even a reset button for some things in the game

    Dear, dear GGS,

As much as I appreciate you adding avatars to the game, I would really like an option to set none.

Last tournament I decided to try it out by setting my platinum medal avatar and found out it shows above my farm name in the upper left corner of my farm. I did not like this sight and I thought the barn picture was much better, so I went back to change this and found out it was not possible...

With this tournament, unfortunately, the avatars did not improve in my opinion, so I am still stuck with the platinum medal avatar, really wanting my barn back. Would it be much trouble to add a 'choose none' option to the 'set avatar' menu? I would really appreciate that!

What do other players think of this idea?

    What I do not like:

What I would like to see (the option with the grey 'forbidden' sign is edited in by me):

The result of clicking the 'set none' option would be my beloved barn:

Yay! Thank you :D To read the rest of her reply, click on the blue arrow button in the quote.

Just bumping things! smiley-signs133.gif ...now that this tournament is over ... nice opportunity to give us our "choose none" option, as requested by the OP .

Some "unisex" avatars would be nice..... maybe based on some of the farm animals..... the donkeys and ducks and pigs are pretty cute and would be more appealing for me than some random guy.

so, is there another raffle going on at GGS to see who's pic gets chosen the most?

Yes, please find some way that we can remove the male avatar and either have a female avatar or none. Thanks! Michele

Just a point... they are based on real people who work for GGS if I read the announcement thread correctly. Aside from the topic, which is a good one, "None" should be an offered choice, this thread is full of really nasty comments.

May I just put it out there that we collective complainers disparaging the appearance of the avatars as creepy owe one large shamefaced apology?- insert appropriate icon here - Now that we know these images are based on real GGS employees (who participated in a raffle to be chosen), how do you think they feel about those comments? Jeesh.

Sheesh! Are we back in grade school?

I have to agree with Yakoska & FadedJean! There are some nasty comments about real people and then to not even feel embarrassed or apologize?! Saying that it's the picture not the person doesn't get you off the hook for being RUDE! Nor does bringing up the issue what was missing (variety) cover up the fact you were making disparaging remarks about the sacred other. I've always found it's a person's behavior that is truely ugly.

Thanks to those who made a more positive, helpful approach - by suggesting what it is that we do want. Thanks Nafaru for responding to our requests (and overlooking our churlishness)

The option to set a non-avatar, a non trophy and a non title made it in the game with the last update.

Closing this thread as the suggestions made in this thread are now in the game.
