Criticism: Lost to a Level 7 horse??

Ozzie (AU1)Ozzie (AU1) AU1 Posts: 524
I just raced a level 7 horse and lost!!! My horse is level 27, show jumping of 169 & a 90.24% chance of winning. Level 7 horse therefore had a chance of 9.76% chance of winning. ?(

So why did my horse lose??? X(

What is happening in the horse races? If a higher level horse races a lower level horse you would expect to win. Now if I was the level 7 horse I would expect to lose but not the other way around. Plus the fact I wouldn't go up against such a high level horse.

Why spend time and horseshoes to train your horses to higher levels if you lose to such a low level horse?

Where is the sense in that? :(

I'm trying to get higher in the competition and when you lose like that it's just not cricket.

C'mon GGS fix the inconsistencies with the racing.

PS: I'm sure that the level 7 horse owner got a thrill on waking & seeing their horse beat a level 27 horse. I know I would be thrilled. :)

I think it depends on what their level is in the category you are in. It is possible to have your horse at 42 but your strength is much higher than that. You can only see what level they are at you can't see what level strength, agility, or endurance is at.

If he had a 9.76% chance of winning then, if you competed against him 10 times, you would expect to lose once. You were just unlucky that this was the once. The odds don't say that you will win the first 9 and only lose the tenth. They only say that you will lose 1 out of ten races. This time it was the first one. (It does make you feel hard done to though doesn't it :( )

It does Uncle John2, very unfair. I thought that the higher you were you would win ALL races - depending on the other horses' level of course. But a level 7!!! :( I just can't get over that fact.

The funny thing is I probably won't see that horse again as I very rarely race against the same horse twice. I can't win here. :(

Last season I lost to a level 2 horse, and mine was 60+ at the time... (64 I want to say at the start of last event). Random chance is that. If you have a 92.24% chance to win... guess what, you might lose! But if you raced that horse 100 times, you'd win closer to the %.

If a horse has a 1% chance of winning, that is still a chance, people buy lottery tickets with a 14 million to 1 chance of winning & someone still has to win. You have MORE chances of winning with a better horse, but no one has a 100% chance, so you are going to lose sometimes & its usually to the most unlikely horses from what I have seen, the higher you get, the more werid the losses feel..... Just look at it like your horse maybe slipped or got a bug in its eye or distracted by a spectator, even in real life favourtites lose & rank outsiders sometimes win.... You have the right idea when you thought how the other person probably felt & you will have your fair share of times when your horse is challenged by one way higher in level & you will win & get that yeeehawww moment hehe

    Thanks everyone for your comments.

I was just stunned and shocked, shocked and stunned upon losing to such a lower level.

Oh well, onto the next race.

Well, I've just lost to a so low-level horse.
Oh well, now I know how it feels...

P.S. And I am not mentioning the lower level horse's level, but my best horse is level 31.

I also know the feeling of loosing to a much lower level horse.
Now I do not challenge them any more and same with a much higher level horses. Try to keep your challenges in the area of the level of your horse. It seems to make it fairer, or at least for me it does.
