Locked Thread Button Happy

May I point out something that is a bit troubling. Your new Board Mod, WascallyWabbit
seems to be really eager to close threads that could have been more discussed in details and forces us to restart new threads to address the same issue. Now, given the fact that we are supposed to post in the initial thread and not start multiple threads about the very same subject, which makes perfect sense, our friend the rabbit seems to go against that by being a bit too trigger happy on the lock button.
As an example, Steffi gave some very interesting info about the limit to which one can improve a deco with the landscape guy. Now, since it's a new feature, I do not see for the life of me why the thread was closed so fast. I would have had questions about this and now, would have to redo a thread about the same subject to get the info I want.
Maybe you guys could have a chat with your friendly new rabbit and make him/her understand that closing threads is part of the job, but you have to use caution when you do so and not do it just because you feel like using your new "powers".
NOTE: I have never seen so many locked threads in a long time and it is far from being a compliment. Some of the locks are more than questionable.
Have a great day guys.

But then the question bares if you find that my post was irrelevant: Why did you feel adding on to it by a reply? You felt the urge to be irrelevant too or are you trying to score brownie points with mods?
Have a great day!

I agree. The forum does have rules about not "naming and shaming" people, and I think the courtesy of not naming and shaming should also apply to a moderator, who is merely trying to do their job.
My point exactly!
Up until now, I do believe that Wabbit is an excellent moderator. Very helpful and very decent. Each time he/she needed to move one of my posts, he/she PM'd me about it in the most polite way. I, for one, think it to be great that finally somebody restrains all those unnecessary posts and/or threads. If I would feel Wabbit closed 1 thread too fast, I would simply send him/her a PM about it (a polite one!).
:S And yes, I remember you from your hundreds of posts following the Happiness Revamp - every single time a player doesn't go along with you in naming/shaming or attacking GGS, you use the word "brownie" :S... somewhat childish I must say.
If you have a n issue with someone on the forums, a CM or a mod you take it up in private messages. Those are the rules, and they are good rules.
I prsonalyy think that the Community Managers and the board moderators do a very good job. And if they make a mistake when closing a thread they are willing to reopen it. I see no issue here.
as others have already pointed out, it would have been nice if you could have contacted Wabbit or any other board staff about this issue at hand as it would have resulted in a quicker solution without any potential naming and shaming going on.
With that said I can actually explain the decision based on what Timo and I agreed on with the moderators a while ago: in an attempt to keep the technical issues section as up to date as possible, to see which bugs have been reported and resolved recently, threads are being categorized, updated and closed in a timely manner if the problem is resolved.
The thread in question was posted as a bug report, it was explained that the issue was not a bug, hence the issue was resolved and the thread was closed.
Now if someone would like to start a discussion based on any posts in this thread, the easiest solution would have been to just quote the post in question (quote or link to post #) and start a new thread in the questions section, referring to what the question is about.
It also would have been possible to just message Wabbit about the topic to see if the thread could be moved for this purpose, just as it happened after your post was created.
Long story short: we agree with the decision at hand and trust Wabbit to make right decisions based on instructions given. In case there is any other mod action you would like to point our attention to, please contact us privately, so we can evaluate the processes at hand and adjust them if need be.
Regards,
Steffi
