Lv 40 horse needs wrong amount of points for one of its levels

snork (INT1)snork (INT1) Posts: 518
Bug? Lv 40 horse needs twice as many points to train in lv 40 (agility) than for lv 39 or lv 41 (endurance and strength).

I've had a few uneven breedings, ie. the parents were about 2 levels apart in one field of training, but the resulting horse always had matching training costs, requiring more horseshoes for each higher level, not this strangeness. It's special features are elegance and speed, but that also never mattered when it comes to horseshoes-required-for-training. Ex-plaaaaaain?

Is it a horse you bought at the horse market? I've had the same problem once, when I bought a level 34-ish horse from the market. It had the same values right across but it took different amounts of horseshoes to train each discipline :(

No, I trained that one up since day one, with many mistakes and very very slowly, and such an unevenness shouldn't occur after all the invested horseshoes. :(

    Anyone? Mods? Help?

The more I know, the less I know ...

My level 32 horse is showing a similar skew ( although not so severe) Her special features are speed twice.

I have the same issue. A level 48 horse that I bred from day one. Strength level 48 - 126 more; Endurance level 48 - 161 more; Agility level 48 - 430 more. Special effects elegance, speed and jump power. An explanation would be very helpful. I don't want to make the same mistake again. :-)

I'm getting the same thing and my horse is level 11. This is one that is the foal of two I bred early on to complete a task.

    52 more strength
    53 more endurance
    50 more agility

Has this all just changed for you? It seems it wasn't that high on Friday, but I noticed it yesterday.

    So it's not just me!

Can we move this to BUGS or shall I make a new post over there?

I don't want to train this horse or rather I can't afford it, so I do hope for an answer tomorrow Monday.

My horse disappeared after breeding. It dropped down to a level 7 then when I put it into training it disappeared
Now I'm starting all over with another horse. Not happy

It didn't disappear, 2 horses breed into one foal which has a lower level if its parents are not at the same level. This is something completely different.

No, this is not a bug. This is how horses work. I guess, your horse had different values in three disciplines when you bought it.
Bought horse acts as "fresh form breeding". After breeding (or after buying a horse), you can train each discipline for approx. 10 levels before training becomes hard (lets say that you decline from the ideal path of breeding). If all three values are the same, this will happen in all three disciplines at the same level. If you start with a horse with different values in all three disciplines, you will reach a point when one od this disciplines will reach "saturation" before the others. Lets say you bough (or bred) horse with values
20 (strenght), 23 (edurance), 19 (agility). Then you would be able to train your horse to lvl 30 (strenght) before number of horseshoes for training gets wild, but for other two levels this will happen at level 33 and 29. So if you start with a horse with uneven values, they will train unevenly in those three disciplines.

I didn't buy the horse! I trained it continuously, bred it very evenly, and it never displayed such hugely different needs!

I've been keeping a close eay on my horses since I first read and replied to your post, Snork..
I've taken great care to only breed my horses when they're on the same level but I've also made sure that they've been trained with the same amount of training points.
When I'm closing in on the love-love time I only ever train them so that they just reach the desired level. Never going half through a level before I breed.
Could that be something to think about? I guess it could affect the required amount of horseshoes needed for a level? Haven't seen it affecting the total breeding value though..

I've done the same Mina0o! :) I'm very stingy with my horseshoes and dislike even to have to go one beyond the necessary level. Although lately I've bred them to 21-23 instead of 20 though, due to reports in forums.

Maybe its additional strengths (those green+ thingies at the side) influence the difference in shoes needed for various strengths training? I played with the slider and could see that my non-boosted strengths will also double in need of shoes in 1-2 levels, sad but at least it makes more sense now, that was the only difference.

Hm.. I have all kinds of breeding effects on my horses and they train vary even. Only time I've had something like what you describe in this thread was when I bought a horse from the market. But after training it and breeding it, the new foal trained all disciplines equally :/ Weird!

Off topic: I never bought a horse from the market, and the very first offers seem to have been the best? The next ones all cost more and had less strengths, but I've only watched for a few days - do offers ever get better again?

The offers are very uneven.. I've gotten a few really good ones that didn't cost a fortune in horseshoes and/or gold but Ive also gotten really crappy offers. To me, the market seems like a typical market, plenty of sellers trying to screw you over! ;)
My advice is to check the offers once a day and maybe one day you'll come across a real bargain!
