Quantities for the Ship

Uncle John (GB1)Uncle John (GB1) GB1 Posts: 11,004
The Ship asks for different things each time but it always seems to want about the same quantity of any particular item. So, in my case, with Eggs, it asks for between 230 and 250. With other products it is a different quantity but similarly consistent. My question is

Does anybody have any ideas as to what these numbers are based on?

Are they related to how much you happen to have in stock
or purely based on your level as a player
or something else I haven't thought of?

Thankyou in anticipation :¬)

I was asked for bakery products before I built a bakery, but I was able to build one & I have seen people say it asked for more apples than they could fit in their storage, but their storage wasn`t upgraded to the max level available to them, so it doesn`t seem to be based on what you have, but more on what you are capable of having.

Although it doesn't seem fair, the ship asks for things you could have produced at your point in the game. That's why it asks you for donkeys when you don't even have donkeys. A lot of players have complained about being unable to load the amount of goods the ship asks for because their storage doesn't hold that much, so they are forced to upgrade their barns if they want to be able to fill the ship for the bonus.

It's the actual quantities that have me flummoxed. It asks for 350 Milk and 250 Eggs. One cowshed takes 7 hours to produce that while one henhouse would take only 1 hour to produce them. My storage capability is the same for both! How can I anticipate and plan ahead (a strategy game) when I have not the foggiest why it picks these numbers?

I see what you mean, but I have no clue how GGS arrives at their amounts. As for strategy, one of the things you can do is to see what things you are always short of (milk for example) and keep your storage full of it at all times. That way you won't have to wait to fill the ship. I know, it means leaving goods unsold just sitting there doing nothing, but that's what I do.

This is the first time I have tackled the Island /Viking farm with any hope of success so the first time I have been able to expect to fill 6 slots on the ship. I have gone one step beyond you FarmerJohn by recording the quantities of each product that the ship has asked for over the last week or two. This means that instead of keeping my storage full of everything, I know what stock levels I must maintain for each shippable item. It has been this process that made me ask the above question because I can see no pattern in the quantities asked for. They are not random, it always asks for a similar amount of any given product, but I completely fail to see what they might be based on. I was hoping someone out there had spotted that which I have missed. :(

Wow! You certainly put a lot of effort into knowing exactly what is going on in your farm! I respect that!
I don't think we'll ever really know how this company arrives at their numbers. (though I have long suspected they just throw darts at a board) LOL Happy Farming, Uncle John! :)

Could you perhaps post the list of your results? I thought I was going mad when it kept asking for just 1 or 2 pieces of what I could possibly produce (individual berries, as I don't have enough runestones for special seeds) and felt stupid for not writing it down so to remember next time. I can confirm that keeping your barn full is the only way to go because it does ask for what you have little or nothing of - it asks for bakery products much less now that I have a bakery than before I had one .... Are you sure you haven't upgraded in the meantime and that's why the numbers changed?

No Snork, no significant upgrades in the last fortnight. I think the numbers might be creeping up since I was able to fill 6 slots or possibly related to how quickly I am able to send it off. The actual quantities are obviously going to be related to my level in some way (currently 66) so probably not of much use to you but here are the first few
    flowers - 106
    cabbage - 318
    wheat - 126 & 131
    dandelion - 146
    lambs l - 103
    lavender - 64 & 52
    Vanilla - 111 & 122
    Pigs - 961 & 894
    apples - 1027 & 1071
    etc.
