How do they do that?

I have noticed that when starting a lot of the missions that some players will start out with between 300-1000 items be it eggs, wild flowers, corn etc. Yet when you look at their farms they only have one or two fields, chicken coops, etc. If all things are fair how are they starting out with that many? as they add more items to the mission as time goes on they aren't adding any more than I am but they start out with an advantage.

pcs - Its because of planning. They have multiple fields and animals, they may have the library boosters which helps a lot, they use special seeds, humus (regular, premium, super), premium feeds also, and the seaweed products which consist of feed/humus/fertilizer. They also use gold to fast forward their harvests. They have everything ready for harvest when they start their missions to. You can look at your opponents farms while in a mission if you like to see what kinds of animals and fields that they have as well.

Some players also build their farms around missions which also helps them with their coop projects as well.

I agree with Enoch... If they do not have lots of fields or stables & are producing the same as you throughout the mission, then the most likely thing they are doing is to plant special seeds, add humus (or even premium or super humus) and then have them ready to harvest as soon as the mission starts. After that bumper harvest they just plant regular seeds like you for the rest of the time..... Of course if you have luck like mine, you fill your fields with flowers & keep getting corn missions & as soon as you give up on the flowers & plant corn you get a flowers mission. 9_zps521a54fa.gif

I thought it might be something like that but for those of us who don't have a lot of money to spend on gold. And who are just starting out it is very discouraging. Sigh. We don't have much chance to get above 4th place.

pcs- Not really, once you start upgrading your main farm and adding more chickens cows pigs and upgrading your fields you will start to see an increase in your missions. Also upgrading your fields and adding higher value decos. It takes time and we all have been where you are so don't stress about just do what you can and enjoy the game. If you ever need help/tips/suggestions there is always someone in the forum who can/will help and you can also message me.

Is it possible to go totally Arable, with just Fields and Houses?
That way your production of corn or flowers is maximised.

    Possible? yes, Recommended? no.

The money in this game come first from the Bakery and later (and dominantly) from the Flower Shop.

You can probably do it without Eggs (going Cows and goat) but it would take a long time. Also, Chickens are the most productive cash/min resource on your main farm, and are especially good in both Eggs and Dung missions. Not to mention Co-op projects. So again, a lot going against the strategy.
