How do you demolish houses?

Gambit8Gambit8 Posts: 42
They all say "Building is busy", but most of my fields and stalls are idle, so I should at least be able to demolish a single house, no?

Do I have to unassign workers first? If so, how do I do that?

Thanks :)

You may have so many free workers, that after the house is demolished you not go to have negative free workers..

You can upgrade other houses or demolish something that is using workers, either will increase your available workers & when the number matches the amount living in the house, you will be able to demolish it & the workers will vanish.

Oh, that's a bit of a pain. :( Makes me wonder why we have to manually assign workers in the first place, if we can't also manually unassign them.

I was hoping to knock down some upgraded houses and build new ones for a lesser happiness penalty. But if I have to destroy facilities to do so, I guess it's not really worth it.

    Thanks for the replies. :)

Ooh thats much easier to do..... Just build the new house first, then the workers will move in there and you can demolish the old house..... If you are short of room for a new house, you can pick up some decorations while you do it & then put them back afterwards.

EDIT: Keep an eye on your happiness meter when you have the extra house & less decos, if it drops too low just don`t start any productions until its back up again....Any productions already running won`t be affected.
