    Hi everyone,
firstly i would like to ask am i in the right thread to ask these ? hope so

Hell I'm so confused and now there is another update tomorrow and don't even now if my horse are ready for it. Also I'm stuck on the side task (Have 1 horse with breeding quality Level 1). I don't know if I should do it now or after the update.
I have 3 horse a stable on Level 3 and I can upgrade it to Level 4. I don't know if I have good horses or not or which horses to breed together to get a good horse or what level they should be on to breed them. the more I'v read about it the more confused I am. Could you please help me and tell me if I'm on the right track or do I need more training or must I breed before or after the update.
This is what I have -
    Horse 1 - breeding value 29 - breeding effects +4 elegance
    Horse 2 - breeding value 20 - breeding effects 0
    Horse 3 - breeding value 14 - breeding effects 0
Breeding Horse 1 and 2 will give me a new horse with a breeding value of 24
Training Points 25 in Strength - Training Points 26 in Agility - Training Points 22 in Endurance
    Strength -93% - Agility -95% - Endurance 95%
    ? +1 Random Breeding Effect

Sorry i did post this on another thread but i cant find it
    Many Thanks

    2) you get some breeding effects. from +1 Agility, to +9 Elegance (that I've seen). Early on you may only have 1 breeding effect, and one slot, which is not very exciting, but that changes eventually. How many you can choose will be shown by how many question mark boxes your potential foal shows. You will get to choose from the breeding effects of the parents, and 1 random effect (So far, I have only seen +1 random breeding effect).

    3) Your 'breed quality' might have a chance to improve. This is not always the case. Sometimes there will be no chance of improvement. If there's a chance, you will see a red quality symbol right above where it says "+1 random breeding effect", and the words random chance of a new breeding quality level. The higher the quality level, the better the horse in ways listed, though not fully understood.

So what does this mean? Well it means the more times you breed your horses the better the foal will be. But you don't want to breed for 0% training benefit (I think all horses above 10 breeding value give a benefit to training time) and you do want to breed when you have a chance to increase quality, and breeding effect boxes. The end goal is to have a horse (or horses) with stats 120/120/120. You will always have a chance to lose, but the NPC horses will only go to 100. But THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN OVERNIGHT. It will take a LOT of patience. This is the Longest Term goal yet offered by Big Farm, and it is obviously frustrating a lot of people.

My best advice is, train... breed when it seems advantageous. Do not get attached to any one horse (though I have a certain 'lineage' that I am attached to descended from my original horse). Eventually the golden horseshoes will come. Did I mention Be Patient? :)

And, as stated previously, you will be able to race against other players at some point. And that will probably be fun, if you don't like the 'intricacies' of breeding. I do. :)

The interesting point about breeding is that it is not scientific. It teaches kids that play this game that trained traits are inherited....not true...any science text will tell you that. The entire horse portion is a drag on the game. Even the contests against other players is a drag. i have to spend money to get gas, that then i get gold horseshoes....but i do not need those because they just slow down the building of other things on my farm that actually make me go further in the game. and to train my horses, i need brown horseshoes... and to get those i need to spend all my money on a island that goes away just when its finally producing. Frankly this now just looks like a ploy to get us to buy more gold...i know the game needs to make money...but this is getting seriously boring now that the game requires a lot of real money be spent just to move forward slowly. get rid of the stupid horses and allow us to build a bigger farm or another farm we get to keep.

I haven't yet spent a single gold on the islands and I'm doing ok with the horses. I have plenty brown horseshoes to train my horses, if I keep an eye on not using too many shoes per training.
I once kept an eye on how many shoes I got from the captain each day, got an average and use that per day. More or less :)

And about inheriting traits from the parent horses and 'teaching' that to kids, please! Kids nowadays understand that things you learn from a game are not always true! 8)
