ps the new horse you buy will train up to level 13 for around 4000 horse shoes it tains up very quickly till level 13
There are three training arenas: The Riding Arena, the Show Jumping course, and the Riding circle. Each correlates to a different of the three attributes: Endurance, Strength, Agility. Have you trained in all three since the sidebar showed up?
From the beginning it was lose the parents. Would be a little wrong to breed a parent with their offspring. Getting rid of both parents ensures that doesn't happen. Plus you still get the better horse after breeding.
Our fellow co-oper only lost one of her parent horses though... Is this a new update? I asked her and she said she only lost her top trained horse and still has the other parent plus the new horse... I'm not sure what buttons she pushed, but curious as this is the second time I have heard someone say they only lost one horse...8|

Yea, I was personally wondering if she had done something like that... Thinking that maybe she accidentally let the higher trained horse go (set free) and then clicked buy, and never bred at all... Because both parents should be gone, not one still there and a new horse. She had named them both, not left them generic Goldy as far as I know. One horse was still trained and the other wasn't. Is all I know for certain.

1. get hose{s} trained to level 10 {in endurance, strenght, & agility}
2. get 500 horseshoes by selling items to ship
3. upgrade stable to level 2 to get 2 horses {to breed}
4.BREED
--when you breed you lose your original horse+it is expensive to use all the horse shoes
I am going to just keep training my horse instead of breeding
It is ultimently your choice

Yes I know. And on all three farms I'm down to only needing one of the three. But no matter how much I train nothing ever happens. And gees.... another person talks about how trained her horses are. HOW?????
It's taking FOREVER to collect horseshoes. I'm only now earning enough from the viking island to keep up with requested special crops. And it seems even when I do train, I end up with the exact same level it was when I started.
And no one ever answered... if you can't slide the bar all the way over does it do any good to train at all? Or should I wait until I can slide it all the way over.
Bah. Know what? I've been ignoring the horses all together. It just makes no sense to me at all. Trained horses still lose against lesser horses. Breeding should NOT set the parent free. What horse farm would do that? Horse has a foal and you set the mother "free"? This so they don't inter breed? Come on. They are game elements. No actual DNA involved here.
The whole thing is just stupid. Maybe they will work on it but until then.... phoey. Nice idea but so very poorly executed, not worth my time. Or hair.
When I started there were already players on levels over 200, I never expected to "catch up", you just play the game at your own pace, do the events/tasks that you want to do & if there is something that does not fit in with your playing time, skip it.... Its not like the game has an end or a prize for the 1st one to get there, its just an ongoing, ever evolving farm. Some new stuff suits me, some doesn`t, but I am sure the stuff that doesn`t suit me, is probably great for someone else..... Chillax & go with the flow, the next new thing may be something you find fun.
And no, I'm sorry I'm not the best person for doing that, I don't have the ability to do a job like that.
But I'm ready to deal the experiences I until now have learned (and have read somewhere):
1. Players who not yet have try to breed horses: You loose both parent horses, so if you dont want loose your first horse, dont use that horse to breeding.
1a. If you use your first horse to breeding, you get a better horse for it. There is no good strategic reassons for keeping your first horse, it will never could be as good a horse as horses which have sevral generation behind them.
2. For best training as cheap as possible: Throw the slider so high it can come with going into the intensive area. If you not want to train that horse again in that diciplin, turn the slider backward until the training only gives enough to the highest possible level. - it's waste of horsesjoes to train a horse so high that it only need e.g. 10 point more for next level, if you not want to train the horse to higher levels.
3. When breeding 2 horses, only breed horse which are close to eachother in levels. e.g. breed 2 level 12 horses or 2 level 25 horses.
- If you e.g. breed a level 20 horse with a level 10 horse you get a horse not so good as the best of the parents.
4. As the first breeding you do, it's best to breed 2 horses with a level at minimum as 10.
5. it's a good idea to have a horse stable at minimum level 3, so you have room enough for 3 horses. Then you have room for your best horse waiting for another good horse to be breed with. the other 2 rooms you now can use to train 2 new horse up so they can be breeded to a better horse you can train up to the waiting horse level.
- Maybe it's here necesarry with a schematically picture or another better explanation?
6. For increase the speed of your horse traning and breeding program: If possible, give the ship higher loads than the minimum.
That's what I just now have in my memory, maybe more will come later...
Ok, I'm going to try this AGAIN! ADMINS, if you move, delete, or what ever to this post could you please tell me why?
This is off my us farm as userdigger. It CLEARLY shows my horse has more than passed the task requirement. The one that is should need, shows as completed.
If this is a bug, and someone moves it to bugs, fine. LET ME KNOW OK????? How else can I find out what's going on here? I tried to track down my post from last night and it seems there is no way to show my posts. IF there is I can't find it.
By the way, on this farm, my artmaker farm, today I FINALLY got the stupid task to finish. YEA.
But it doesn't explain what's going on with my us farm.
You mean this one? ... http://en.board.goodgamestudios.com/bigfarm/showthread.php?128550-Error-in-quot-Let-s-get-Trotting-quot-task&p=1540533&viewfull=1#post1540533
So... ignore the task and train for the other? Guess it can't hurt to try that.
Gees besides being a confusing convoluted mess, they have to stack glitches in with the mix. Oui!
I'll go train the nasty nag again.
You can use the advanced search to find posts from the username or go to the profile for that username & you can see a link to the list of posts there.... Glad its the one you were looking for. ^^
I like the island, but I probably won't do it again if the "reward" is shells or runestones whose only value is for obtaining horseshoes. I want nothing more to do with the horses at this point. I'm tired of wasting my time on them.
I hope that can be a usefull help for somebody.

"A new tab in the stable menu allows you to access the breeding menu.
You can mate 2 horses in order to get a new foal. The parents will leave after this process, in order to make way for the new generation.
Breeding creates a new horse with different potential advantages over their parents, including attribute increases through breeding effects, decreased amounts of training points needed for an attribute level-up and a chance to increase their breeding quality."
