Yes, you do get runestones for demolishing. I don't know the amounts but I know I did get runestones for a deco I demolished, even though the display said zero.

I tried to collect as much info about this as possible, check out the table below:
But like I said, some numbers may not be correct coz I can't confirm them myself, and of course some of them are still missing
Thank you! Will this be posted at the beginning of this thread? It is good to know, when deciding what to demolish, if you do not have time to demolish all. And hopefully, before next time they start this event, the info in the game will be correct.
It has definitely been posted on the website
Looks like you have all the ones from the list posted from the Island farm, except the smallest deco which is 105.
I should be able to get the missing level 4 ones in next couple of days.
Or maybe from my own experience from all the servers where I play
Here are some new numbers:
Stone mill (lvl 1) - 75
Silo (lvl 3) - 2 850
Edit: sorry, see that Scissors mentioned this deco in his/her post, too!
Can you also edit that into your table?
Sure sure.
I got more tables for the amounts of runestones - how much you get by selling the product, by producing, by building/upgrading, by demolishing the buildings and by demolishing the bushes. But in Czech, if you'd like to have such info, I can retype it also in English. AND also the prices for upgrading buildings. And... kinda lot of things, was making the tutorial for our Czech forum but finished yesterday and it's still in Czech only.
Thanks ^^ I am interested in the upgrade prices for the buildings. We have it for nearly all farms, but not for the viking farm.
And yes, I did clear the cache and logged off and logged back in. But still nothing
What is the extra building you get when you finished the event witing the first 5 places? And how do I get it?
----
After a few hours it came up in the inventory of the gourmet farm
Big black mark Goodgame!! I have suddenly gone off this game. Active for only three days? Give me a break!!!
Tony, this event started on 17th of December 2014, see the link:
http://en.board.goodgamestudios.com/bigfarm/showthread.php?128455-Announcement-The-Viking-Farm!
It doesn't look like you checked the forum before you started it... I am surprised that no one in your cooperative, if you are in one, told you that.
It should be in your drop-box (pending inventory/tijdelijke opslag). Are you sure it was for the first 5 places and not just the first? You got me thinking XD Anyway, I think you should have gotten it in your drop-box, so I would send a message to support and kindly ask if you were supposed to have it and if so, where it went. It should be a special Cow Shed (at least on the tropical island it is the tropical version of a cow shed) Good luck!
Edit: I have seen your edit, glad you got your prize!
The pop-up I got that the event had ended showed my rank (which was 0 since I did not open the farm) and the amount of runes I got. If you would keep that pop-up up for a while before clicking it away I am sure you can see it ^^
I do exactly the same as enochnock: we give our coop members notice 3 days before the island vanishes, and again the night before the last day (we also warn them to sell all their products from their Island Farm Mgt menu, as this seems to be easily forgotten in the hectic). And we remind them of the rest of the time the (shell-) rune trader stays, so that our members know how long they still have to trade their runestones (shells).
I have to agree with elunia: it is surprising that - if you are in a coop - nobody told you about this. But then again, even if you aren't in a coop, you could still have known when the island event had started and how long it would last: by reading the forum and also because of:
There are 3 timers running during this Island event:
- 1 in the left hand task bar of the island (it gives you the remaining time in days)
- 1 at the airport (when hovering over the airport it gives you the remaining time in hours)
- 1 in the upper right corner of the shell/rune trader's menu, which gives you the remaining time he stays.
Larino's Corner even has no mention of the Viking Farm. Its FAQ has a Tropical Farm Guide and sounds for all intents and purposes like that is the only temporary "Island Farm" that exists in the game.
When the Viking Farm first opened up for me (a week ago), it was the first time I had ever used the airport building. I wasn't sure what the timer was ticking for, besides a generic "event" which I assumed meant the Tropical Farm I'd heard/read so much about. The description/help text in those screens is generic and does not tell you which event is actually running. It certainly makes absolutely no mention of "Viking Farm".
Someone who only learns about the game via the in-game text would have absolutely no idea it was a temporary island.
It was only by visiting the island that I realised the Viking Farm must be a temporary event farm... maybe. But even then I still wasn't 100% sure. As the days went by, I kinda just 'decided' it was temporary and ignored it, and then my suspicion was confirmed when the event finally ended.

would be nice to know if i should use the runestones on greenhouse fruit ( or what its called )
or should i buy some of the decorations instead.
I agree, it is somewhat hidden, but Larino's Corner DOES mention Viking Farm, have a look:

And this is one of the main reasons - if not the main one - that people are encouraged to join cooperatives: so that we can share our knowledge and that the more experienced players can help the newbies.
It may have started on 17 Dec for some people, but it only unlocked for me 3 days ago when I reached level 30 and unlocked the airport!
