When you breed 2 horses you get one horse with an average level of the 2 parent horses.
You get breeding effects at level 10, 20, 35,50,70, and 90. the new horse level.
Also having stable upgraded to allow you to have more horses to work with.
  • This is what happened, I just clicked on the breeding button when I had 500 horseshoes, immediately after that, my first pony is lost and 500 horseshoes were gone.

Even after this the task is still not complete.

    I want my pony back....
  • if you breed a horse, it disappears, you just have a new horse in its place :)
  • I went to breed my horses. My main horses is now missing.

  • When you breed your horses, the parents goes away, and you got a new and better horse :)

That's the way this breeding thing breeding works.

  • Here you can find the original announcement as explaining in detail how it works:
    https://community.goodgamestudios.com/bigfarm/en/discussion/40870/update-december-11th-horse-breeding-and-other-surprises

There is several threads with questions and answers and tips about the horses.
Here is one of these threads:

But it has been told as from the start of the Horse ranch, @Cowgrl68 (US1) - over and over again: in the official announcement and in the different threads on this subject. F.i.: you only have to read back a few posts in this very thread to find all necessary info.

No. You bred 2 horses and now you have only 1
The 2 you breed always disappear.
In their place you get a new horse which is the average of their levels but is much cheaper to train.

Have a look at website "Larinos corner". Lots of explanation and help.

  • After breeding, my original two horses are gone, and two new ones have been put in their place. I am back to square one in training, and competing. Please help resolve this!

    Thank you!

When you breed 2 horses, you do lose the parents and get to keep the foal, which trains more easily to a higher level. It is the way it works.
  • Cheer up! Things are actually better than you think.

When you breed 2 horses in order to get a new foal, the parents leave to make space for the new generation. It is best to breed horses that are close in level (breeding value), because your foal's level will be the average of the parents' levels. Here are the benefits of that breeding:
    • you have a great new foal that is much more easily trained (fewer horseshoes will be required to train this foal than its parents)
    • you did not lose progress, as this foal's level is the average of its parents'
    • you may have a better breeding quality now (and better BQ means better breeding affects will be available for you to choose when breeding this horse)
    • you have space in your stable (and horse training needs lots of space for your horses at all their different levels so you can pick the best matches for breeding)
    • you will gain a new breeding effect slot at level 10, 20, 35, 50, 70 & 90 and adding a breeding effect greatly improves your foal's abilities in competitions
So, train your new foal a few times (preferably 2000 horseshoes at a time) and look forward to your next competition. If you become attached to a name, rename the new foal the same name. Personally, I only name my top horses fun names and name the others after the attribute I am training them toward (racing, dressage, jump, etc).

The one thing that does not make sense in your post is that you said you have 2 new horses. Perhaps you bought a new Goldy to train, too.

I've obviously missed something or done something wrong in this complicated breeding of horses because although I've successfully got a new horse both of the horses that I have trained & nurtured have disappeared ;( X( is this the normal thing that's going to happen every time?? If this is the norm WHY wasn't it outlined CLEARLY in the instructions etc???????

Needless to say I'm more than a little ticked off right now.;(:SX(?(8|
I just experienced the same thing.  I spent soooooooo much time leveling up two horses, only to have them disappear to create one.  Makes no sense,  Havent the creators of this game heard of a stud horse?

It sounds like many people have had the same, very reasonable, request.

Mods, please pass along that it would be more transparent to not rely on the original notification of the horse areas to inform us of such an important point. Please consider replacing the notes we have when the breeding option is viewed in the stable (see below). Perhaps something like this would work instead:

"After breeding, both parents will go away to make room for the foal. The foal's training levels will be the average of the parents', it will cost less to train, its BQ may increase, and it may receive an extra breeding effect."

Making this change would go a long way toward having people feel better about the horse areas and feel much safer in breeding their horses with more knowledge.

I have just a question, please.

If is somebody available (or know) to respond at the question that appears in the Notice Board,
    Information on the Platinum league:
''You have to challenge and beat 50 players in 'Platinum I' to move up to the Diamond league''

    Thank you for your answer.
For me is a little confusion.

@Brave Ana (GB1)  When you reach Platinum 1, you need to win 50 challenges and then you will move to diamond league.  You will only get points for the wins until you have 1249 points then your score will not get any higher until you finish getting your 50 wins & move to diamond.
  • Brave Ana (GB1)Brave Ana (GB1) GB1 Posts: 254
Thank a lot for the answer.
That was because with my maths 50 challenges (supposing to win) x 4 points = 200.
And if you are in Platinum I at 1175 points (bottom level) adding 200 means...Diamond league.
    But now is clear.
  • @Brave Ana (GB1) Technically that would be correct, except that it stops scoring you any points at 1249... It doesn`t take long to get the 50, as it starts counting as soon as you reach plat 1 & losses don`t count against you, unless you get enough losses to drop you back to plat 2, then the wins you need to get back up to plat 1 won`t count towards your 50.... Good luck :)
  • My two horses finally achieved the proper levels for breeding, so I followed all the prompts and clicks, etc. Then I realized my first horse was renamed to Goldy and my second horse is totally gone. I've cleared cache, etc, etc, etc, and nothing helped.  I'm pretty disgusted, after spending weeks on this goal!!

When you breed two horses, they both disappear, then a horse named "Goldy" takes their place.  You can rename her.

  • Ahh, well that's simple enough. Do the other two ever return?  (Thanks for the response!)
  • artful (US1)artful (US1) US1 Posts: 6,617
No, they are gone forever. But your new horse will be easier to train.

  • I am unable to upgrade my riding circle, area, etc. I have plenty of horseshoes, but they do not show up when I go to upgrade, only my cash and gold. Horseshoes do show up only for training. Any suggestions?
  • try refreshing your browser

    it works for me...
  • I bred 2 horses, got offspring.  The 2 parents vanished -  what the???
  • yeah, they die after you breed them

doesn't make sense, but guess that's the way it is...
