Is a 4th farm coming?

I hope so. I see soo many high level farmers talking about how they have all this money and nothing to do with it...and no longer have a need for xp's because there is nowhere to go by gaining them. This is not a issue for me and many others who have not completed all 3 farms just yet, but i have to admit it's something on my mind as i get closer to the end of the road with the 3 farms....then what? I think these recent additions are interesting side kicks, but i just don't see them fulfilling and sustaining player interest the same way the farms do.

I don't know about others, but when i heard about the ranch initially, i was thinking it would essentially be a fully interactive farm in itself and there would be many things to do to support it's needs as the other 3 farms do. Thus far, even with the updates of breeding and competition to come, it doesn't look like it's going to pan out to be a fully interactive horse farm to build upon like the other farms unfortunately. We are already competing with computer characters and working with horse training, by simply adding more horses with breeding and being able to compete with real players it just doesn't really add anything. There just isn't enough meat to the concept of game play with the horse ranch to make it interesting to me. There's no crops, stables or production factories to support the needs of the horses and the ranch overall. When i drive past horse farms, i see fenced off property for the horses to roam..just like the other farms have roaming workers, why can't we have land to purchase for the horses so we can visually see them roaming like we do with workers on our other farms?

The island farm is working out to be interesting and it certainly has a lot of potential, but i think as long as it remains as a farm that is here for 30 days and gone for unknown weeks at a time, it kills player interest. There is nothing there to hold on to because it takes away the creativity and vision that comes with ongoing progression and advancement of farm building. That is the fun in a game, taking a empty piece of land and planning and building towards something that will sustain all the farms as a whole as you progress from one farm to another. That is lost with this 30 day concept.
I know for me, i am going to grow very tired of building the same stuff over and over with farm dollars just to obtain shells to buy seeds. It would have been better to fully develop the island and make it permanent with a "high level" requirement to access it, and then allow us to collect shells as we harvest stuff on the island to then buy seeds with to use in the nursery for the ship. I think it would have been far better for the horseshoes to come from a "new event" oppose to the ship. We are so badly in need of new events.

While i think GGS really missed the opportunity to fully flesh out and interconnect the ranch and island to be true additions to our farms, i can only hope a real 4th farm is what they are putting their future efforts into going forward. After all, it was the farms we have now that really made this game take off, i am just not sure why GGS would sway so far from that concept. I remember a ways back GGS said they ditched the original intention of a 4th farm at the time because they thought it would be too much and confuse players, yet all these things you have implemented instead have only ended up offering far less game play quality to what a 4th farm would have offered and has also ended up being far more confusing and tedious with less bang for our time, effort and buck
I know i would much rather have one release a year that involves a new fully functional farm that is integrated like the 3 we have now are oppose to these little side kicks that GGS is putting out.

This is a great post.. I have been disappointed as well with the hype from the new horse ranch... a 4th farm would be great for the longer-term interest in the game.. Or even the ability to further expand our farms would be great... There is a general repetition to the game that gets dull as time goes on. I was really hoping for more interaction with the horse ranch... From what I can garner, the only point is to spend horseshoes in order to raise the level of the horse, so that it can win gold horseshoes, in order to upgrade it's training facilities. What happens when the training facilities are all at level 5? I'm nearly there, so I suppose I'll answer that question myself soon.. I was sincerely hoping for a much more involved layout, similar to the island farm, that would suck me back into the game-play. Looking forward to the next upgrade on the horse ranch, hopefully it fulfills the hype...

well said...i agree totally...the island farm for me takes out much too much money....yes im level 104 almost 105 but im a co op of 1....so no monetary benefits for me..i don't get increased benefits for researched goods..competitions don't interest me which is why i enjoyed big farm so much in the early days...since revamp of former gourmet farm this farm is not as good if you haven't maxed out research...i now make more money by not working bakery and just occasionally do a load of fruit cakes that ship wants...i don't do missions....therefore farm machines only got to level 1...whats point of missions all by yourself for 30 min just to get 5 or 10 certificates when u need 100' if not thousands of them...and i never got the egg or dung one when i had eggs or dung...so no fun in missions...i also was hoping that we would have a permant 4th farm that had been promised for over a year

I think DeAnna777 hit the nail on the head with her opening post. I'm disappointed as well by the most recent updates. With the months long buildup to the horse ranch, I expected better than the results. We train horses and upgrade facilities in order to race against fictional characters, which happens off-screen. I played along for a few days until I finally realized that there really wasn't any more to it. I keep hoping for some sort of payoff but I don't see one coming. The whole concept is just dull.

From the start of the ship last spring, thru the island(a pointless money/gold pit) this past summer, to the greenhouse....all with the ultimate goal of obtaining horse shoes in order to build a horse ranch and.....this is it? Seriously?

I'm a fish enthusiast and would like to see a water inspired farm with perhaps fish hatcheries, canneries, a fish market, lemon or orange trees, a restaurant that serves seafood for dinner; shellfish, crabs and shrimps, waterfront and lighthouse decos; a place to put sandcastle decos and tropical houses. Maybe something that would tie the boat harbor and island event together....Boredom can be cured with building something NEW!^^^^^^

The problem with a 4th farm, at least as they have been made so far, is that it would be a stop gap to the issue, not a solution. The issue being as DeAnna stated "High level players getting bored." Somewhere along the line, the developers need to find an endless cycle. The Island, obviously, was one attempt. I like it, but its not good enough to solve the problem. I don't know what the final goal of the Horse ranch is going to be. Breeding, racing, training all sound good, but again, there doesn't seem to be a endless quality to it. Breed horses until you breed a super horse? I'm in! At least until you get that horse.. then what? So I'm not sure.

An example where they succeeded sort of, was with Certs... Certs came out, we built machines... Done. Bleah again. But now they have come up with a way to make certs (and tools) endlessly useful with new machines. Fixed... in so much as the farms remain entertaining.

I wish I had a solution to the main issue. I do think their next project (hopefully after horses) has some additional potential. That is Co-op vs Co-op missions.... however that's going to work. But it won't solve the "I'm bored with my 3 farms." problem. A problem actually exacerbated by The Island... The Island gives you so many great decos that it makes the others obsolete. Unless someone's goal is to have only Pearls.... its going to fill up a lot of farms faster than they would normally have.

But i think adding new farms is what would keep the game interesting. Each of them interconnecting and balancing the other. Right now we are just playing the same scenes, crops, buildings and the same animals over and over, but when new farms keep getting added to the mix your adding more variations to the game play and lessening the repetitiveness of dong the same things. I really loved seeker1's vision for the next farm..that would be totally awesome and tie right into the ship and the water's edge of the farm.

I agree, I really like Seeker's idea as well.. an aquaponics variation would be a great twist and add another fun layer to the game! Great idea!
